I'm from Wisconsin....that's how we roll

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Does anyone know if it is likely to open over the weekend or will it wait until the work week?

Just called..... Not open yet....

the lady i spoke to last night told me its actually better for us to keep checking online. They dont get the dates/times open to them any sooner than online.

to answer Kern... i am inclined to think it will be monday now (or maybe the 15th like the other poster said) because she also told me someone has to manually put each date and time in the system to open it... dont know if its true but she was REALLY nice

This is starting to tick me off.....
I keep telling myself that at least since I'm checking here and checking a couple times an hour, we should get in. BUT.....Most of us have been doing this for weeks and the pool of late comers gets bigger every day! Between having to wait on hold for over and hour to pay off a $5800 bill to this fiasco, I'm not feeling this magical customer service I keep hearing about for our upcoming first Disney vacation.
Rant off.....for now

It does seem like they have dropped the ball on this one, doesn't it.

With all the changes to the webiste to accomodate the "My Experience" (and with the VAST number of problems and broken links) - along with the fact that Disney, like most other corporations, are "doing more with less", this is one area that has fallen through the cracks as a lower priority, and it really needs to be improved.

I can't believe that each month, "someone has enter each date" into the system. Really???? :rotfl:

Come on....this makes a nice story for their folks to tell callers, but doesn't seem feasible with all the technology at Disney's disposal. I'm thinking they are overwhelmed with all the unexpected problems of rolling out the new system.

Hang in there, everyone...things HAVE to break open soon! And once you are there, you will have a GREAT time and the Magic will be worth the hassle!:cool1:

YEP that is EXACTLY what i said to the CM last night. We have been trying since Oct.. OCTOBER
This should be like any other ADR first come and 180 days out

She did mention that since march seems to be getting so close that they may not offer march due to renovations since its become so popular since opening last year ...again she had NO real info. She said many of them have been begging the senior CM for info and everyone has nodda

here is the email she encouraged me to use. I told her i didnt really want to "complain" but more voice my opinion

I actually asked this she said she "thinks" (again no real answers so who knows what to believe) that it books in a couple of hours :O
She said she didnt know an exact seat count but that it was pretty small
like 50 or so *** ANYONE WHO has been there How many do you think?????
if 50 is true for example we are a party of 9... so it would only take about 6-10 RSVP to fill one night......

Just spoke with CM Clarice. She was very sweet and said they are as frustrated as the people calling trying to get a reservation. She said that they are waiting for Tomorrowland Terrace to release the seats and nothing yet. She has not heard that they are not releasing the tables loke a previous post mentioned. She also said she doesn't know why they are not open yet and that they should be open by now but it's up to the restaurant to release it. She also checked two different ways. So the 10:43 update is NOT YET. Argh!!!!!

I think we had this discussion back on the first thread, maybe it was this one--it's buried no matter where. There were quite a few of us who thought it was way more than 50 (from previous trips), the standard line because you can book a single party of up to 50. When we were there in October, I actually *tried* to count. I counted well over 50 people in just half the front row. It may be 50 tables, but many tables fit 6 people.

I'll also add that the first time we booked the party, it was on the day we opened, but much later into the day after opening. We were seated in the front row, and that was over a holiday weekend (Memorial Day). I think it just depends on the date. No real pattern. And we know that the first row is booked, then the back rows. The second time I booked, I booked the first time 3 hours after opening, but then changed the dates a few days later because we ended up with a big conflict--still the first row.

Well, you would think that if they were going to be "closed for renovation" that they would have planned that many months ago, and it shouldn't be a surprise to the CMs.

Just seems to be poor management, but again, with the HUGE changes they are making right now, it's not all that surprising that something as confusing and haphazard as this has always been is even worse. :sad2:

Let's hope they get their act together soon!

It really doesn't matter where your table is, as everyone gets up and stands by the railing blocking the view from the tables anyway. Since this is a "show in the sky," with the overhang, you have to move to the railing to see it.

They told us when we were there in Dec that we were not supposed to bring our chairs to the railing - even though our table was right AT the railing. We simply turned our chairs around, and watched from our table, and no one stood in front of us...but everyone else gathered at the railing for the fireworks.

Is there enough room for everyone to stand at the railing? I don't want to pay all that money to then be stuck standing behind someone tall. Is there enough room for everyone to get a spot at the railing?

Yes, I think there is, but as I said, we were sitting, so I couldn't see the whole crowd. I think most people are considerate enough to let the kids and shorter folks in front, but then, the show is in the air, so it's pretty high up.

I had heard horror stories about how some rude people pushed and shoved their way to the front...I didn't see any of that. The only thing I would have changed is to put a muzzle on the loud and obnoxious woman at the table next to us who talked and berated everyone at her table throughout the whole show...hard to tune out, but we really loved the show (and the desserts!!)
