Salon not open as of today. I'll give more details later, but to me it's almost entirely the same GF for us this trip. The smell is there, the feel is there. The blue walls are meh, but it's not all that impactful. We are sitting in a cabana right now next to the DVC construction looking at a blue wall - yet still having a grand time :)

Very jealous.

LOL about being terrified to cave. We've stayed in RPC twice but have never booked it. Frankly, I doubt we ever will. It is simply lovely but for us too expensive to justify. I love Sugar Loaf. :cloud9: Can you fit me in your suitcase?:rotfl:

Thanks about EasyWDW, JoBird. Off to check.:surfweb:

Did you find the post on Easy?

I love Sugar Loaf as well, which is why I know if I was to break down and book RPC there would be no going back for any of us. :scared: So I will continue booking SL and hope that one day I'll get the courage to book RPC without becoming completely spoiled. ;)

And absolutely you can come along in the suitcase! The more the merrier! :rotfl:

Thanks to my sister's recent bounceback offer, we will be celebrating making my last mortgage payment in October in the main building club level theme park view. Woohoo!! It will be a dream come dream!

Congrats!!!! Hope your vacation is wonderful!!pixiedust:

Glad I can come along.:rotfl:

My hope is to stay at the Villas at the Grand Floridian in December if they open by then. Those photos with no activity make me nervous. Maybe he took them on a Sunday.:rotfl:

erionm did some good detective work and found that the time share license for the villas has been approved. :goodvibes

Lucky girl! Have a wonderful trip. :cool1:

May we expect an update? Especially on the rebar for Chris? :rotfl:

Hi! I am planning to put a request in for Boca Chica building lagoon side. Is this a good choice and is this considered an upgrade from pool view ? Any pictures anyone? :)

I love the Boca Chica lagoon side that is where we were in November I think the pool side might be considered garden view.

jd99 Have a Grand time this weekend:banana:

Have a Wonderful time at the Grand!!pixiedust:

Thanks jojomickey!! I plan on having the time of my life! Did you have any good views from the lagoon side?

Your welcome, yes we did we were on the second floor and we could see the fireworks right from our building I like the fact that on the lagoon side you have more privacy with no walkways with people walking by!

We are staying at GF for the first in April. My wife and my two girls love the Electric Water Pageant. So I am trying to figure out which building to request in order to:

A - see the pageant from our room if we upgrade or
B - which building is closer so we do no have as far to walk every time they want to see it.

Right now we have a garden view and have requested Boca Chica or Big Pine. But with the pool construction we may ask for Sago Kay or just up grade out view.

So if any can tell me where you can see the Water Pageant from, would help us out greatly.

Thanks
Mark

You can see the water parade from your room at the Boca chica building But I think you will need lagoon view and I would think it would be with the other buildings as well.

If you trust the published dates, the Courtyard Pool construction should be done before April.

Quick update. We are here and the Grand is the Grand. Who cares about the construction. Our room looks directly on the pool construction and the bad news is that I don't believe that they have done anything. DVCi is shaping up. I know not everyone is a fan of this but we are members so we can't wait. We are having an amazing time. Staying Sugarloaf. CMs have been awesome. Gave us "fast passes" for Be Our Guest Lunch today so we didn't have to stand in that line. Just went to the kiosk ordered and went right in. Amazing experience. THe new Alice themed water play area looks GREAT. Wish it was warm enough to play there. Don't hesitate booking (in my opinion). I think the staff is working very hard to make the experience amazing despite the construction. Will have more soon but we are late for Citricos (after a manicure for DD14 and a massage for me) then to Epcot (hopefully) for EMH later.

this is one of my fav's. We could see the boat parade on the lagoon from our room at night. My kids thought that was so special - one the memories they consistently talk about.
