Im at Sab now. Need lunch but afraid of lobster roll because lobster salad in lounge was awful last night.

I had two of the lobster salad apps at YC lounge last night, one was excellent had the claw meat , second was not so good. Maybe that's why the lobster meat on the roll was lacking in comparison to shrimp and scallops. Either way enjoy Sab today. I'm at nemo all day!

Thanks!! Have fun at Nemo!!!! :)

I don't know about the Boardwalk entertainment schedule. I'm sure if you ask our cousins on the Boardwalk thread they will know...

BUT!

Don't be sad, You get Yee Ha Bob on Saturday! :thumbsup2

* Yee Ha Bob's schedule: Wednesday to Saturdays 8(30??)-midnight @ the River Roost Lounge. Get there at 8 to get a table.

(you know who I'm talking about... right??)

~NM

I do now after reading the link. Thanks!

Yup. From the Boardwalk Thread.

BOARDWALK BUSKERS are an assortment of live entertainers who perform from 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM Thursday-Saturdays outdoors on the BoardWalk. Observe sword swallowers, jugglers, magicians and strolling musicians.

Hmm, well that is a little bit of a bummer. I guess we'll just have to plan on walking the boardwalk on Thursday. Thanks!

Man, you guys are really killing me with all the talk about Club Level. I just figured out our taxes and as we are getting more back than expected I'm now thinking maybe just maybe I'll look into upgrading. Mind you just going Deluxe is HUGE for us.

I wasn't even considering it until reading some reviews of people with food allergies and the lengths the chefs went to in order to make sure they still had adequate food if they couldn't eat the normal selections in the lounge. Which is awesome because otherwise myself or my 4 year old wouldn't be able to eat much of their offerings.

So, what I'm wondering now is does Club Level generally fill up? I'm not quite convinced about spending the extra money. We will be there the 3rd week of May. I'm just curious if there is normally availability or if they book up so I know how soon I should be making this decision.

Of course DH might kill me if I spend all that money on Club Level and still make him drive from NJ to FL! :rotfl2:

party: Just realized we dropped into "double digits today" on our countdown!

99 'bottles' Sunken Treasure on the wall, 99 bottles of Sunkeeennn Treaasureee....
Take one down and pass it around.....

Hehehehe. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

:worship:

Hmmm...will we be there at the same time??? May 15 - 20 here!:goodvibes

Sorry I just saw your response...I hope we do see eachother!

We may cross paths too...especially if you do CL!

I may never leave SAB this year - lobster/shrimp rolls and sunken treasures!!!

If they added key lime pie and the grand marnier slushy it would be a done deal!

Nice! I can't even believe I'm considering club level, this is soooooo unlike me. I'm multiplying my normal hotel budget by over four times, yikes! But we never pamper ourselves, EVER. It's our 13th anniversary and we've also never done anything big to celebrate an anniversary. I go back to work in July after a 2 year maternity leave and I want to have a big exciting trip to Disney and just really enjoy the time with my family. So, I'm considering it.

Have you stayed CL there before?

Heather

Hi everybody. My family and I will be staying at the BC April 9 through April 18. To say we are excited would be an understatement. We originally were going to do a split stay 5 nights CSR with a meal plan 4 nights BC, but with the spring offer 9 nights at BC with no meal plan was only a little over $700 more. BC was where we all really wanted to stay + my DW really hated the meal plan anyway, sometimes we would rather have an appetizer and although I do love dessert I probably shouldn't have one with every meal. We also get water view rooms with this package.:cloud9: I have been lurking on this thread for awhile and would like to thank everyone for all the great info. The first thing I'm giong to do after check in is change in to my swim trunks go to Hurricane Hanna's and order a sunken treasure, I'm sure DW will be in line right behind me. Oh yea, btw the lobster rolls look ok, but if you want to try the best lobster in the world come to Maine in the summer or fall. If you're wondering how I know, it's because I'm a lobster fisherman from Maine.

It is our first time at the Beach Club! And with the spring promo, it really wasn't that much more to upgrade! I think it sounds wonderful to try CL for your family. After 2 years of mat leave and going back to work and your 13th anniversary it would be a nice treat! :goodvibes But hey...don't listen to me! When it comes to WDW, I am kind of an enabler!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread, but my family and I were thinking about changing our reservation to BC/YC (from SOG) due to a really good code. We were leaning toward thinking about staying at the BC because we had dinner there last year and toured the resort and really liked it. However, for our dates the BC isn't available but the YC is. I'm just not sure if we will like the YC. I've been looking at pictures and it looks nice, but boy am I kicking myself now for not taking the time to go look around there when we dined at the BC last year.

I think SAB is the biggest draw since we will be there during the summer, but I am worried about the room view since all that's available is standard view and I heard that's going to be a rooftop view at the YC. We will absolutely use the balcony and a view would be nice, though I know I can keep checking to see if something with a better view opens up.

If we decide to go with the YC, anyone who has had a standard view, was there anything specific you requested to get a view that wasn't awful?

I did a CL stay when my twins were just shy of 2 years old. I think in retrospect it was too early. I felt like we didn't get to enjoy the CL lounge or its offerings as much as we might have. We were just too busy policing the twins.

So if your twins are anything like mine were at that age, I might suggest waiting until your next trip to spring for CL.

He's right! Maine truly has the best lobster and lobster rolls.

Hey, everyone, I think we have a new place for our party!!!

BTW- :welcome:

Well they are a little bit of a handful. More than ODS but not too bad. But we do have an extra adult this trip (2 at one point) which may help. The thing is I have no idea when we will go back. I'd like to say next year but its likely we'll have to wait several years and then the added cost of having to pay for tickets and food for the youngest two may hinder us from even doing Deluxe. :(

I will admit we've been lucky, in many YC stays, I cannot recall one horrible view. But I don't mind looking over the entrance or woods. We have dodged the roof so far. ;)

You're best bet is to keep checking for improved view if that is important to you.

I suppose you could ask for ground floor -- no roof view possible -- but I'd still take my chances because I love the balconies.

If you have grandparents or relatives that might take your kids for a long weekend when your kids are a little older, CL would make a great getaway trip for mom & dad!

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

The purpose of these thread is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

Please note that we generally do not recommend that you request a particular room number for your stay at the resort, but instead let the room assigner know what is most important to you:

Full Balcony?
Close to Elevator?
Close to Lobby/Pool/Transportation?
Daybed?

If you request a particular room number, and that room is not available on the day you are checking in, the room assigner may not know the attributes of the room you want, so you may not get the room that best suits your needs.

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

So far, I only have posts on the two rooms I have stayed in at the Beach Club. I have more pictures I can add, but I'm not sure when I will have time to do that. I also don't have all of the details except for the rooms I stayed in.

Please add descriptions and pictures from rooms you have stayed in at the Yacht & Beach to these threads.

Thanks!

Format looks like this for each post:

Hi! This is BCV-related... I debated whether to put it in the DVC section but thought I would start here and ask the actual BC gurus first! ;) Let me know if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

I was browsing through old BCV threads on google and came across one from 2009 (around the time they were switching out all of the tube tvs for flatscreens) where someone said a CM claimed BCV was due for a "major refurb" in 2013. Has anyone heard about this? Booking 11 months out makes me curious what the resort will look like when I actually get there! :rotfl: I much prefer the clean white linens of the regular BC rooms but am saving money by going through points.

On a personal note, I stayed at the YC in summer 2011 for a conference and the entire time I wished I was at BC... SO EXCITED! 2014 can't come soon enough. :hyper:

I love all the details, helpfulness and friendliness on this thread. I'm trying to figure out the best room location to request for my mom and me. We are staying YC garden view.

We would love a full balcony. We like to refill our mugs ~ only places are Ale and Compass until noon, Hurricane Hannahs, and BC Marketplace, right? We would also like to be close to transportation. Any suggestions?

I read about the 'secret door' at YC but I don't quite understand the benefit in using it. What am I missing?

Back story of the trip:
In the fall, my sister (mom of 7) was diagnosed with stage 4 appendicial cancer. My mom has been taking care of her and her kids and is worn out! We thought about canceling this trip, but she decided she really needs it (I totally agree)! I just want it to be as relaxing as possible.

We are going for the Princess Half-marathon. We were originally booked at the GF but switched to YC because of all the construction. I feel a little behind in my planning but this thread has been so helpful!

By the way, my mom and I met Teena in 2011 (my 1st Princess half). We were on our way to get massages at the Mandara Spa after the half marathon and she gave us advice on the best way to get there. (We stayed BCV that trip.) Thanks for being so kind! I hope to see you again!!

Merci
