Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

YIKES!!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Suicide blast hits US Embassy in Turkey; 3 feared dead

In an emergency message for U.S. Citizens, the State Department said Americans were “advised to not visit the Consulates in Istanbul, Adana or the Embassy in Ankara until further notice.”

“The Department of State advises U.S. citizens traveling or residing in Turkey to be alert to the potential for violence, to avoid those areas where disturbances have occurred, and to avoid demonstrations and large gatherings,” the message said.
I'm worried now about our safety in Turkey . . . :(

They will change our itinerary if they feel it is not safe for us to be there. We have friends who are cruising later this month that included a stop in Egypt - their itinerary was altered to exclude Egypt because of safety concerns.

This is really why we are sticking with DCL for Ephesus and for Athens (and on our own walk-about in Mykonos) so we aren't obligated to a private tour provider and then have a problem if we miss the port.

If we had a Change of plans where would you like to see the magic take us?
Just curious

Santorini would be nice.

Hopefully we don't get to "Tunis level".
In 2011, about this time of year Tunisia exploded

We actually went to Tunis on 2010 got ripped off on a carpet

We received an email from Disney today about what we can book on 2/15 and a link to the shore excursions!

Here's the info for the spreadsheet for Roll Call and also if you want to join the facebook group.

ROLLCALL FORM

SPREADSHEET

To see a list of who is sailing from DIS, see the June 15th Cruisers link in my sig line.

If someone can check the spreadsheet and remove those folks that have had to cancel that would be super. I know the 4boons had to transfer to another cruise so I deleted them from the spreadsheet. I know there have been others but I can't seem to find those posts readily.
I just want to make sure we have the spreadsheet accurate if we can!
As a reminder...FE Exchange signup deadline is April 1. The concensus a while back was that we would not do a daily sign up for delivering the FE gifts...we'll just leave it up to folks.

I went through the spreadsheet and removed the people that I knew had said they were no longer sailing with us, but we do have folks on the list that haven't posted in ages, so maybe it's worth sending a PM to those we haven't heard from in a while so they can "check in" if they are still planning to sail and would like to participate in any of the Meet activities we might end up planning.

Speaking of Meet activities, do you all want to schedule a brief meet-and-greet for the first day onboard? And what about for the first Sea Day for those who might not be able to make it to a sail-away meet and greet? I personally love getting to put faces with the names I've become familiar with early on in the cruise as it's nice to have friendly faces to say hi to when passing. We've found that the Promenade Lounge is a good place for a sailing day meet and greet, usually 30-minutes or so before safety drill. We obviously don't have to decide right away but could start thinking about if we want to do something particular.

Also, we'll be staying at the Renaissance Barcelona arriving on Thursday morning and would be happy to Meet and Greet on Thursday and/or Friday evening in the lobby of the hotel for anyone else who is staying there (or makes their way over). If you think you'd be interested, PM me and I'd be glad to host. We've done that before and find that it's a good way to share port-city touring tips ... we got a great tip in London about how to not have a long line to see the crown jewels at the Tower by meeting up with other DISers the first night while we still had a whole other day to tour London.

I would be interested in this! DS2 turns 7 on our last sea day so I have told him if he meets a few friends we could try to have a "party" for him. I have noticed lots of others with kids in the 5-10 range so it would be great if the kids could meet outside of the clubs.

Well, we're arriving on the Wednesday before sailing so we'll have 2 full days of Barcelona. Whether our luggage will arrive at the same time is entirely a different story (2 connections before arriving ... travelling on points is a real eye opener)

We're staying at the Barcelona Universal. I booked it myself on Expedia. The reviews seem ok.

I've been lax in my trip research. Reality is setting in so I better start reading. LOL I have to think of when I should call DCL up and request a particular server too... I can't remember when I did that last time ...

DH and BFF will be there as well since we are on the same flight we can touch base with you. By the way our seats and my DSIS/DBIL who come in the next daygot changed on the Alanta/Barcelona flight both coming and going .:confused3

I am not on Facebook (yeah, I know, I need to get with the times!), but we would like to be in the FE Exchange. Can I still join, and can I get a list/spreadsheet of all the participants?

We'd love to meet and greet too. We are staying at the Hilton Diagonal for 2 nights before the cruise.

Not a problem. Will share in both places.

I think Delta changed the aircraft. We had a time change alert several weeks ago and I noticed our seats had also slightly changed... Different configuration of the plane.
