Thanks. I was commenting via the phone app and didn't know how to do that.

Hi guys!!!

Just popping back in to say that WE GOT IN for the Disney transfers and hotel!

I called them last week, after DH told me that he really wanted to go through Disney, because he felt more comfortable if something went wrong - delayed flights, etc. - and being in Europe was a bit more intimidating than Orlando or Seattle, the other places we have sailed from.

At that time, they were all sold out, but yesterday, I got an e-mail from DCL, saying that they had a cancellation, so we got into the Hilton Diagonal for 2 nights before and 1 night after the cruise! :hyper:

Now I just have to do our air flights!!

Hey y'all - I popped over to the other Greece itinerary's Meet thread to see if they have any discussion about the ports specific to this itinerary - they asked if when some of us start getting home if we'll post Navigators so they can have a peek. I told them I'd ask if someone might do that (we won't get home before they are all heading over since we're staying for Venice). Here's their thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2868129

Also I am going to post a thread on the main board for Greek ports so they can chat with us about planning as well as any other DISers who have sailed to the Greece ports on other lines might be able to share some ideas.

Hi All- Just posted this on Facebook, but wanted to share here as well. What's everyone planning to do in Villefranche? Any expert advice from those who have been there? We're thinking something that involves Monaco (DH/DS are Formula 1 fans) and going through Disney for that port.

I've been there before. I did Nice, Monaco and Eze. I want to go back to Nice but there isn't an excursion that only goes there. There's one, but it includes an hour long ride on a mini train. Don't want that.

Maybe the wine tour...not all that interested in going back to Eze though. But there's wine, I would like to buy wine for dinner on the ship, and it's adult only I think.

We are planning to go on the wine tour. We did not go to Eze our last trip we went on the tour that include St Paul it was a great tour but want to try something different and we tend to go for the wine tours except in Rome and have enjoyed all of them.

I'm going to do Rome on your own, to get a ride in from the ship, because I want to see the Forum.

Looking at the Tuscany cooking excursion as I've been to Florence before.

Not sure I can resist the Roman feast at Ephesus.

Well, we've settled on what we want to book for Athens - Acropolis Sightseeing and Archaeological Museum with Lunch.

For Ephesus, I have picked my top two but am waiting for DH to review them and also get feedback from our friend who is looking at them for us.

For Mykonos, I think we're just going to do something on our own - which after having two full days in Athens and Ephesus will be a good thing.

Are you on fb.? We have a cruise doc listed there.

I am on Facebook and I just put a request to join the group. :)

Welcome you are going to have a great time. This will be our second Med cruise on DCL our first was the first one in 2007! Sorry our group is all very active 50 plus in age however we do have 2 school teachers in our group one is a high school history teacher so we have a great resource for education!

Sounds awesome! I have one in high school right now and we did the Baltic cruise a few years ago and did some pre cruise time in Europe. She was learning about the Mona Lisa a few weeks ago and told her teacher "it is really small and kind of lame", lol!!! He agreed that he heard it was actually very small!

Welcome Poohmom0f5!

Thank you!!!:goodvibes

Wow! After all that I hope this does work out for you. :-) It's stories like that to make the trip even better because of what it took for you all to get there. My party started doing a special toast on the first day of our vacations to kind of wash away the life altering moments we had before we got there (we seem to have had a lot of them in the past couple of years). Just a way to say "Enjoy every moment of the experience - even the moments that get on your nerves." LOL

I love that idea, we have indeed had some interesting times in the last few years. I am excited that 2012 is over!

Hi,

I've been meaning to get around to posting on this group for a while. Seeing as I'm making the final payment next week and plane tickets were booked in September, guess I'd better... Sooo many pages to go through!

WE changed to this cruise in August last year from the Venice cruise "hi Cindy  " We're also going on the 7 day cruise before this one. :yay: We're from Sydney, Australia and will be spending 5 days in Barcelona prior to the first cruise. One night after this cruise and then 3 nights in Singapore on our way home.

"We" are myself, DH, and our four children DS1 (turns 15 a week after cruise), DS2 (13), DS3 (turns 11 a week after cruise) and the one and only DD.

We have vaguely planned out what we want to do, but I guess that the excursion booking date is getting closer we need to firm up our plans. DD has mild cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair for walking long distances so that rules out 80% or so of Disney's excursions, so we'll be going it alone for most ports. We won't get to cover as much ground but we're just happy to be able to be there! Traveling with DD has taught up to stop and smell the roses. We have a lifetime to go back to our favourite places, but a precious few years while they're still kids. :lovestruc

Hi Ame! Glad you found your way here :)

Hi, We're from Sydney, Australia and will be spending 5 days in Barcelona prior to the first cruise. One night after this cruise and then 3 nights in Singapore on our way home.
Welcome DH and I were lucky enought to viisit your great country and citypixiedust:. We have very dear friends who live in Cherrybrook about an hour outside of Sydney. Sue

We made some great Aussie friends on the April Fantasy cruise. Just leave the the Vegemite at home ;-)

DH has started to research hats for both of us for this trip. He generally wears a baseball cap as do I on occasion. Anyway especially in Turkey/Greece there is a strong recommendation for hats so we are beginning to look at uv protection hats. Any suggestions? Sue

DVC should make UV-protection hats for members! DH usually wears a DVC cap - they gave out white ones for a while which he found to be cooler than the red or black ones they'd had before. But I'm glad you mentioned it because I may look for some UV shirts, too.

I'm starting to think about the things I need to stock up on and take care of before we leave. Things like making sure to take enough medicine - one of the boys is prone to headaches so I need to pack enough headache remedy to last for while we're gone. And I need to figure out when I need to get bills scheduled to be auto-paid for while we're gone - guess I'll be working with the calendar this weekend - i don't want to leave it too late to at least have planned out so I don't forget something at the last minute.

Try Travelsmith, they have fold up sun hats (and lots of other good things for travel).
