I really hate the wind.

Here here. However, it is drying up all the flooding.

Woke me up at 2:45 this morning, ripped my flag to shreds, etc. :furious:

That's it? It could be much worse...

High winds derailed train in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS/CNN) - Violent winds tore through southeast Missouri Tuesday night, leaving a big mess behind.

The severe weather managed to overturn four dozen train cars in Scott County.

The Union Pacific Railroad says the 112 car train was heading from Chicago to Mexico, hauling auto parts.

No one was hurt in the wreck, but officials say about 800 feet of track will have to be replaced.

Wind makes me angry, especially if it's cold wind. Today is not going to be a good day at work on the farm for me.

I know, right? Ever since I was a little girl, a really windy day makes me feel almost violently cranky.

Ugh...That would stink to have to wok outside!

I feel the same way.

We just bought a house that is about 100 years old. The windows are original(HOPEFULLY to be replaced soon). They rattle so bad and make it sound like my house will fly away!

I think quite a bit of the US is experiencing the winds..
We are up on a hill in Maine and yesterday was the foggiest ever day I have ever seen...we coulndt see the next houses when we drove to the mkt..
During the night...the winds howled...I mean HOWLED...
Trees were bent over and quite a bit of the areas are without power...we so far..knock on wood..we are okey..
Keep your blinds down...(to the old house owner)...and curtains down too..that will keep some of the winds out and the noise level down..
GOOD LUCk

Wind chill warning tonight here: -20 to -30 degrees.

*Shiver me timbers* Oh, reading your post gives me the shivers, goose bumps, and more :scared1:

I really don't don't how y'all up north can relax any during about 4-6 months out of the year. Give this deep south girl all the warm weather I can get and I'm happy. :) You don't hear any of us saying, Oh, I wish I could move up north. ;)

Yes, I'm one of the ones that likes to go to Disney in the good ole summertime ::yes::

snappyd, my tulips, crocuses, and hyacinths are coming up!

I have to wait about 3 months to see the first hummingbird arrive at my feeder.

we too are in for the deep freeze again...I do hate winters...but I can stay in the house and go to the heated truck, to the heated mall or mkt or someplace else with heat..
During the summer...I can go from the AC house to the AC truck to the AC store or go to the ocean..or jump in the pool..

I can deal with just about anything winter wise, but not the wind. Some one hear reported of seeing one flower bloom. I had such a good laugh.

Actually, we just learn to adapt. LOTS of layers, ugly sweaters, hats, gloves, etc.

And winter driving is not that bad. I put extra bags of water softener salt in my car for traction, make sure my tires are in good shape, and give myself plenty of time - you just have to slow down, or risk spinning out and ending up in a ditch.

LOL! Me too! I was just talking about the wind to a coworker. I woke up at 5am all freaked out cause of the strong winds. Couldnt fall back asleep. My coworker is on the 7th floor and totally freaking out cause its so windy up there. Lol.

you are not alone! My mom and I were just talking about how much we hate the wind today. It's cold, and loud, and just plain scary lol. A blustery day it is.
