baby count in rooms?

I thought that up until 2 or 3 a baby didn't count against the room limits for disney rooms? I was trying to price out a december vacation and it's excluding all 4 person rooms for my my party of 5 (including one infant).

Is this a new change? Can I just not add the baby into the count or will that be a problem? Help?

Are you inputting the age of the child in the search? I just did one for Pop Century and it allowed 4 adults and 1 child (Age 2)

You can have 1 child UNDER the age of 3 that doesnt count toward the room total. You have to put the baby on your reservation. When I checked on bookings (before our dd was 3) there was a <3/infant section for the age...where you have to tell each childs age. Is it not there anymore?
You may have to call WDW directly if it is not working for you. Since they have changed the website, I have heard people saying that there are lots of problems.

I went on the site too, and put in 3 kids...ages 2, 5, 7 and it is saying that party size exceeds room occupancy:confused3
Strange...she should definately be able to book a regular room with one under 3.

I'd price out with 4 people, find what you want, and then call to book so they phone cm can add the baby.

That's odd. It's not working for me either. The only places that come up are the ones that sleep 5.

I expect that it's a glitch, since they're still in the process of initiating the new system.

I would call.

same thing happened to me... we have 3 adults, a 6 yr old and a 2 yr old... wouldn't let me get prices for regular rooms at moderates. I just removed one adult to get prices then called to make the reservations. The baby is no charge.

Perhaps where you are trying to make a reservation only has rooms with King Beds remaining. Just a thought. I would definitely call Disney.

I noticed this too. We were looking for 4 adults and 2 infants (will be ages 2 and 1) and found that it was only giving us rooms for 6. It's definitely a glitch, unless the laws changed.

I was just pricing things out for next year, but we'll see. It seems really stupid to have to get a second room for a 1-year-old. I've been in rooms at EVERY Disney resort, and none of them are too small to accommodate 2 babies. It will make the "cheap" infant trip quite pricey, but oh well... I know they don't make the occupancy laws themselves. Maybe we'll be able to get in at POL in 5. I imagine we will choose Art of Animation though--either a suite or split in 2 rooms... Depends on price and offerings.

ok.. glad to hear its most likely a glitch !

We are not ready to book, we are just wanting to go sometime early december next year so I thought I'd check on worst case scenario pricing :) I guess i'll just search with 4 for now, and maybe give them a call to double check this hasnt changed.

hubby is convinced it will be much cheaper to stay off site, which is probably true, but not quite as convienient or magical to me ! Plus, my 4 year old (who will be almost 5) is dying to ride the mickey bus from the airport! That would probably be his favorite part of the whole trip.

It did let me put in ages, 4 , 3 and infant ! Thank you to all those who tried that was nice of you :)

It can be cheaper, but don't forget about parking costs at the parks (they are EXTREME!), and the dining plan options if you usually choose to eat in the parks. You will go through quite a lot of gas driving around the area depending on where you are staying. Plus, if you fly to Orlando, you will need to rent a car. Also, there is EMH--which actually doesn't help much besides tell you what park to avoid that day--but some people like it. There is a lot to consider to see if it really is a better value. You very well may get more bang for your buck off property though--especially if the prices keep going up!

sorry, this is the 2nd time I posted on a thread instead of starting a new one. What a dork!

Seems like there is a glitch in the system, I was having that problem, I have been looking for 4 adult and a baby less than a year old. For searching purposes, I just excluded the baby and looked for what I wanted, then I called and booked it with a CM

You only get 1 free baby, not two....strange, I know. They will still make you get a family suite, 2 value rooms, or POR with a trundle maybe. You will probably want a bit more space anyway, with 4 adults and 2 pack n plays. It would be tight. We are a family of 6 and usually get 2 value rooms at POP. You get 2 bathrooms, more space and we always get connecting rooms and leave the door open. AllStars Music would be a cheaper suite...but not as cute as those AOA...but they sure are expensive!!!

I emailed Disney about this a couple of weeks ago. They did respond saying it was a glitch and to just not add the baby on the reservation online and then let them know when you check in. I find it odd that a big corporation like Disney still has that glitch going on... :confused3

Don't put the baby on the reservation and then call to have him/her added. The new website is the pits.

They only allow 1 baby per room. That is why. My friend has 4 kids (1 set of twins) and when they went when the twins were 1 they had to stay moderate and were considered a party of 5 with a baby.

I noticed online that my reservation says 2 adults. When I know for sure my 2 year old daughter was put on the reservation by my TA. Is that happening for anyone else?
