DME out of Miami

Now that the cruises have begun out of Miami, is there anyone who can report how well the DME is working and whether or not they are accomodating those flying into/out of FLL?

The last I heard from my TA is that DME will be servicing MIA only.

Thanks in advance!

Can't answer the question but just to clarify it would not be DME but DCL transfers. Magical Express or ME is only for transport to and from MCO and the WDW resort and it is complimentary. DCL transfers cost $35 each way.

AFAIK, Magic Express (free service)is only between MCO and WDW resorts. DCL transfers (they have cost), I believe, are available from MIA to port.

Thanks for the clarifications!

I've just always referred to DCL as DME because 1) I'm used to saying DME ;) and 2) they take care of the luggage to/fro the airport just like DME, or so I've been told.

Am I correct about #2?

Whether you are correct about number 2 or not depends on the port and the airline.

From Port Canaveral, DCL will claim bags with the Disney luggage tags on them and you will see your bags outside your cabin no matter what airline you arrived on. At departure back to MCO, IF you are on a participating airline, you'll get "Magical" luggage service. If you are not on a participating airline or your flight time doesn't meet the requirements, you will claim your luggage in the terminal and take it to the bus...and then check it in at the airport. That's a whole lot less Magic if you happen to fly Southwest.

In European ports, everyone had to claim his/her own luggage and take it to the DCL people. No magic there either.

Although there's DCL transfers from MIA to the Port of MIA, there is no DCL transfers from FLL, nor from MCO or WDW.

The cost of the MIA transfers between airport and port are $40 round trip per person (3+). With pre or post nights at designated hotels, is $60 round trip. With pre AND post nights at designated hotels is $80 round trip.
