"No One's Gloomy or Complaining"-in DISNEY WORLD!~An 11/12 TR!-*NEW TR Link pg 56!!!*

Great update, Jen. LOVE LOVE LOVE your Pluto drawings...you guys did great. :thumbsup2

We often get FP's for TOT, but I don't remember ever having to wait for the ride in the fastpass line.

One of these days we have to take a drive to POR and have the pasta at the pasta station.

Thank you! :cool1:

Yeah it was weird having to wait to use an FP for ToT! Oh well, at least we got on and it was fantastic, as always!

POR is a lovely resort, you should really check it out! :lovestruc

26 days????????? You are so lucky! I'm so jealous!

You guys did such a good job with your drawings. I'm impressed!!!!!

Cute Agent P pin!

Beautiful ToT pictures!

I love the "make your own" pasta at POR. So good and they give you practically enough to make two meals.

I know, I seriously can't believe I'm going back so soon!!!

Thanks! I'm surprised they came out so good, considering we were drawing on our laps!

Thanks! And thanks!

I know, they give you a ton of pasta! Brandon and I could have definitely shared, but he puts so much weird stuff in his, and I like to keep mine simple, so we just got 2!

Man, I hope you had a good time at the 3AM EMH. It was PACKED! Did not have the best time there.

We had a great time at EMH! That's weird, I don't remember it being that packed, but maybe I have selective memory loss or something!

Did you make it till 3. We didn't. It was so stinking crowded we just gave up

No we didn't make it to 3, but not because of the crowds, because we literally could not stand up anymore! I didn't think the crowds were that bad!

Both your Pluto drawings are really good! That would have been a difficult choice to make...Rapunzel seems like an awesome character to learn how to draw, but Pluto's a classic. :confused3

That's so exciting that your next trip is getting closer! Plus, this one should be different and special, since it's a girl's trip. :goodvibes

Fastpass wait times seem to have gone up a bit. I know Alex waited 30 minutes for one attraction with a FP, which seemed a little long to me. I don't even like thinking about what the new FP+ system is going to be like....:scared1:

Can't wait to see how evening magic hours at MK went!

I'd love to draw Rapunzel another time, but I really wanted to do a classic character!

I'm so excited for this trip! I'm excited to go with my sister, who wants to go to rope drop and understands that you have to get to the parks early when there are crowds! It will be nice not to have to drag Brandon out of bed for once! Although I'm sure I'll cry the first day, because I'll be sad being in Disney without him!

Yeah the new FP system is making me nervous! But I have faith in Disney, they usually know what they are doing! :thumbsup2

Your Pluto drawings are great! I think I've done almost all of the fab 5 now myself! I love that class though, so much fun and unlike anything else you do. Great picture of ToT, strange about the long wait though, wow!

Thanks! I would love to draw Mickey or Minnie, they seem like they might be complicated though! That class is so much fun, I hope I can find time to go in February, I feel like it might be difficult with all the crowds!

Thanks! Yeah ToT was popular that day I guess! :cool1:

I am loving your trip report. We arrived at Disney on Sat Nov 10, and were at MK that day - I'm looking forward to seeing your photos and remembering our day!!!

Thank you so much! That's so fun that we were there at the same time! :cool1:

I'm still here, Jen! Hopefully my computer is getting fixed today and then I can actually catch up!

Yay, I was wondering where you have been!

26 days? It'll be here before you know it! :cool1:

Awww, you guys did so good on your Pluto drawings! I :lovestruc Pluto!

I know I can't wait!!! I'm so excited!!! :cool1:

Thank you so much! I love Pluto too, so of course I had to vote for him, even though I love Rapunzel! :cool1:

26 days?! Not fair! LOL.

Oooh, I love the Pluto drawings! We did Pluto once but it looked different than both of those. That's another thing that's cool about the Animation Academy...you can do the same character but in a different view!

I can't believe the Agent P pin was your first Disney pin! Are you ready to get addicted to something else now?! I'm obsessed with pins and vinylmation. :rolleyes1

Haha, well I'll be saying the same thing when I come home and you're ready to go on your trip! :rotfl2:

Thanks! Yeah, I've seen Pluto kind of from the side too, and the instructor showed us how to do his ears in different ways, which is why I have one ear up and one ear down! It's so much fun! :cool1:

Haha, I love Agent P and it was a Christmas pin so I had to have it! In fact, I still have it on my Hipster! We'll see if I get addicted...I'm trying not to because they are so expensive, but I do think they are really cute!

Great Plutos! Sounds like Animation Academy is getting pretty popular. Love the make-your-own pasta station at POR. Can't believe you're going back so soon!

Thanks! Yeah I think it is getting popular. Boo. :(

I know, I can't believe I'm going back either! I can't wait! :yay:

One of these days, I am DETERMINED to get into one of the drawing classes! I just need to keep forgetting that they exist!! :rotfl:

Love your Agent P pin!

What? You have to do the drawing class, it is so much fun, and you get these great drawings to take home with you!!! Although I always forgot about them until a few trips ago, so I understand!

Thanks!

Your Pluto drawings came out so cute! DH and I love doing the drawing classes, but unfortunately we haven't been able to do them the past couple of trips because Paxton is still too young. Hopefully we will get to do them again someday! We have gotten stuck with the lapboards too and they stink! :rotfl: Much rather have a real desk and stool.

Thanks! I hope you guys get to do the drawing classes again soon! Yeah, I didn't like the lapboards at all, I'm going to get there early next time to make sure I get a desk!

Loving your TR! I am taking my kids on their first ever trip to DW! I've been a few times in my mid-teens to early twenties with the Grandparents. It was the type of run wild, meet us for lunch & dinner & maybe we'll see you when you get back to the hotel, type of trips. No organization & I want to say only one ADR meal. I'm going all out for my son's 21st Birthday! pixiedust: This has been a dream of mine since they were little & well, although it has taken forever (they will be 16 & 21), I'm making that dream come true! We are also staying at POR Royal Rooms River View. I'm hoping for Oak Manor like you were, but we shall see.
Soooo Excited & I have LOVED your TR so far! It's just making my excitement even more elevated! Thanks for sharing with us! :)

Thank you! :thumbsup2

Your trip sounds like it is going to be wonderful! The royal rooms are lovely, you're really going to like them! And we were actually in Parterre Place, I requested Oak Manor but didn't get it! But I actually really liked our location, it wasn't as far as the maps make it look! :cool1: So glad you like the TR, thanks for reading!!

That vinylmation looks like a scene out of Peter Pan! So fun!
I want to stay in the royal rooms, they look awesome! Maybe one day...
I got to ride ToT for the first time ever! I always thought it was so scary and never wanted to ride it but for some reason, I had to do it! And loved it!!!

Lol, on forgetting to take food pics! It's so funny how sometimes I get a ton of pics and other times, I completely forget!:confused3

I forget what that Vinyl is, I want to say it's Haunted Mansion from DL Paris? It was weird, so I traded it! :rotfl:

You should stay in the royal rooms, they are so adorable! Isn't ToT the best? My niece is refusing to go on it on this trip, so I'm going to go on it alone for the first time! I actually can't wait!

I know, I'm really bad with food pics, especially with what Brandon is eating! :rotfl2:

Love Animation Academy:thumbsup2 Love Pluto!

Also love your Perry pin... (the stuffy of that was pretty darn cute too...)

Wow... going back in 23 (?) days... LUCKY...

Just saw Princess and the Frog... Made me think of POR...:goodvibes

Thanks! Isn't Animation Academy so much fun!

I know! I wanted the stuffed Perry too, but I didn't see him til the end of my trip, and by then I was too broke!

I know, I can't wait!!!!

I love the Princess and the Frog! :cloud9:

Your pluto drawings are great!!!!

I'm so jealous of you getting to go back to WDW soon!!!!
Living vicariously through you :)

The new FP+ thing is confusing to me.. Wonder how it''ll end up working..

Thank you!

I know, I'm kind of in disbelief that I'm going back so soon!

Haha it's confusing to me, I hope it doesn't start during my trip because I'm going to be lost!

Your pluto is adorable!!
I love the drawing classes, even though my characters always end up looking somewhat special...

I love that TOT picture you put on instagram!! It looks so pretty and eerie!!

Ahhh EMH ahoy! I'm excited to hear about them!

You are going back so soooooon!!!!! Yayyyy!!! I'm so excited for you!!!!

Thank you! Haha, aww I'm sure your drawings are adorable! I don't think mine are very good, the Pluto one was the best one I've done so far, and that was surprising, considering I had that stupid lapboard. :crazy2:

Thank you! I love ToT, the building is just what you said-pretty and eerie! It's perfect!

I know, thank you!!! I can't wait!!!! :cool1:

Goat. Cheese. Polenta.

Saturday, 11/10, Part 3

Guys. Before I start this update, guess where I'll be in 19 DAYS?? Give up? Disney World!!! Yeah, to say I'm excited is an understatement, I cannot WAIT for this trip! Caitlin was over today and all we talked about was Disney World, it is going to be so much fun to play in the parks with an 8 year old! She's even going to help me get over my Princess fear and meet Rapunzel with me! And maybe Belle!

Now for the update!

Brandon and I just finished eating at POR, and we went back to the room and rested, showered and got dressed. We had an ADR at one of my new favorite restaurants, and I could not WAIT to get there! We were eating at California Grill that night! YUM! We ate there for the first time in May, and we loved it SO much, so I was thrilled to be going back!

We drove over to the MK parking lot and parked in the Zurg section (which reminds me, why isn't Zurg a more prominent villain in the parks? :thumbsup2) and trammed (yes, trammed is a world. Just like monorailed!) over to the TTC to hop on the monorail. We then monorailed over to the Contemporary! (Yeah, try to find a more grammatically correct paragraph in another trip report, because it won't happen! :hyper:)

I absolutely love the CR! It's definitely one of my dream resorts, and I actually kind of get to live out that dream in February when we stay at Bay Lake Tower for a few days! I mean, I know it's not the CR Tower, but still, it's connected, and the location is insane! Like, the MK is in our backyard! How is this even happening???

We were super early for our ADR, so instead of checking in, Brandon went to the arcade and I looked around the shops. I bought a weird Vinylmation

P1000339.jpg

wandered around, and then went had to drag Brandon away from the games so we could finally check in for Cali Grill!

Pretty much as soon as we were checked in our little beeper blinky thing went off, and we were whisked up in the elevator to the top of the CR!

Like I said, the Cali Grill is definitely one of my favorite restaurants now, it's so beautiful and the VIEW! You cannot ask for a better view! AND we were seated right near the window!!! Sadly though, it was about as far away from the MK as you could be, but if I wanted to look to the left and creep people out all night, I could see the castle!

Our server came over and Brandon got some kind of red wine, and I got one of their seasonal drinks, Pumpkin Cider. I kind of wanted sangria, but I thought if I drank wine, I'd get tired way too fast, and don't forget, we had magic hours til 3 AM to look forward too!

We both knew what we wanted too, I was dreaming about this meal for months, so of course, I got the Grilled Pork Tenderloin...with the GOAT CHEESE POLENTA.

IMG_1595.jpg

The pork is good, it's got kind of a barbecue-y flavor, but the star of this is the polenta. It is probably the best thing I've ever tasted. It's ridiculous. It seriously tastes like the best Thanksgiving stuffing you've ever had, but with a slight goat cheese flavor. I could eat a vat of it. Seriously. If they brought me out a barrel full of the polenta, I'd eat my way to the other side, it's so amazingly good.

Oh yeah, and Brandon got sushi :rotfl2::

IMG_1594.jpg

The one on the top was the spicy kazan roll and the other one was a special, surf and turf. I didn't try the spicy one because I tasted a little of it in May and it was too hot, but I did try the surf and turf and it was really good! I wish I could remember what was in it!

The only bad thing about Cali Grill is it takes forever to get out of there! Luckily, we weren't having desserts, so we paid and quickly left. I was hoping to get into the Magic Kingdom before Wishes started, so we had to hurry!

Luckily, we made it to the Magic Kingdom by 9:30! I always love the entrance of MK at night, when everything is lit up, especially with the Christmas decorations

P1000343.jpg

but sadly, I didn't have too much time to admire them. We heard the ending of the MSEP going on, so we knew we'd have to get in there and fight the crowds to find a good spot for Wishes!

We went in, and it was just wall to wall people, so instead of fighting it, we watched the end of the MSEP. I suppose I should probably see the whole thing in it's entirety someday, but that music just kills me. I miss Spectro!

P1000346.jpg

When it was over, I wanted to stop really quick for a photopass picture since there wasn't a line

P1000350.jpg

and then we got ready to battle our way up Main Street!

P1000347.jpg

There were tons of people just standing still on Main Street, waiting for Wishes, so it was insane trying to get close to the castle. I mean, you were basically pushing and shoving your way through. We saw another couple doing the same thing, so we kind of just followed them and luckily, we made it to the middle and found a pretty decent spot for Wishes! We still had a while, so I took about 10,000 pictures of the castle with the dream lights:

Finally it was time for Wishes!!!

It all starts with a Wish...

Wishes CAN come true!

I LOVE the end of Wishes near Christmas, when the turn the dream lights back on! And then, once the fireworks are over, and the lights slowly come back on, the castle is pure white, with all of those sparkly lights before the color comes back...I always try to get a picture, but I'm always too late! But trust me, it's gorgeous!

P1000418.jpg

Up next...how long do we actually stay for Magic Hours??

Oh, yum, Cali Grill! I've never had the polenta, but after the way you described it, it is officially on my Disney bucket list.

I miss Spectro, too. It makes me so sad to think there's a whole generation of people who have never seen it and may never get to experience it. BRING IT BACK!

Awesome castle photos! I am so in love with the dream lights!

We were watching on the tomorrowland bridge if I remember right! It was beautiful.

Your pork looks delicious. Now that I've got Mark to try a signature restaurant, maybe I can get California Grill on his radar in a few years (although I'll definitely be passing up the polenta with goat cheese and the sushi).

You got some absolutely beautiful pictures of the castle all lit up and Wishes...very well done. :thumbsup2

EWWWW is that Vinyl the Pleasure Island guy from Pinocchio? He's pretty freaking creepy.

Hahah I just made pork tenderloin for dinner but I'm guessing that the one from Cali Grill is better? Hahahha! Looks amazing! Brandon's sushi looks wonderful too!

Seriously, castle dream lights and Wishes pictures just never get old. So so so so so beautiful!!!

Your CA Grill meal looks pretty good. All those pictures of the castle with the dream lights get me so excited for our December trip! :cool1: Beautiful!

I love that last Wishes picture - its beautiful!

I love the Christmas lights on the castle - so pretty!

Your Cali Grill meals look so super yummy, especially the sushi!

Yeah for 19 days! :cool1:

So - why didn't you guys just park at the Contemporary? Were you afraid you would be leaving your car too long?

Great update!

Yummmm California Grill!! :thumbsup2 Your meal there looks so good! I've never tried the goat cheese polenta, but it sounds awesome!

The castle does look so pretty all lit up and sparkly like that! :goodvibes

Wow goat cheese polenta sounds beyond amazing!!

You're right, we need to have more Zurg presence in the parks! A parking lot is not enough!

Awh those are such pretty pictures of the castle!!

AHHH 19 days!!!

OMG the dream lights!!!! I can't wait to see these again in December!

Yay for 19 days (did I mention I'm jealous?! haha)! I totally hear ya on the location. I seriously cannot wait for April so we can wake up for 7 am EMH and just WALK over there. :worship::banana::yay::woohoo::cool1:

Isn't it nice to go back to a restaurant and get a dish and it ends up being as delicious as you'd remembered it? Between your reviews of CG and Le Cellier, I have got to try some of these places.

Yay for making it to MK in time to see Wishes! :woohoo: Watching the show with all the holiday lights is the best, it just adds this extra touch of magic.

I can't wait to hear about your EMH. I know one of my favorite moments of all time on a Disney trip was walking past the Castle when its lights were on at, like, 1 o'clock in the morning and the hub was completely empty.

CG sounds wonderful! I think that DH and I are going to try to make an ADR for our next trip. I only recently tried polenta, and it is delicious, but it wasn't goat cheese polenta! That sounds fantastic!

Great photos of Wishes and the castle! It is so beautiful at Christmas time, all lit up :goodvibes

Yummmm...we love Cali Grill too. We haven't been back there for the last few trips but I am hoping to return there when the refurb is done. We also like the sushi and I might have to try that dish you had now as it sounds YUMMY!

Great photos! I can't believe your next trip is so close! How exciting!

I'll just be going through Disney withdrawal here. Right now our next family trip will probably be Thanksgiving 2014 but I am still thinking about a return trip in October for our 15-year wedding anniversary with Food and Wine! :)
