Disney Time Sweepstakes Winners Help Us Plan and Chat!

I thought we could start a new thread for all the winners and well wishers!

A place to talk about how and when we won and who we are!

Also, I know we could all use advice from last years winners too.

As of today- were at 6 winners with more to come.


For several of the winners - this will be their first trip! So much planning to do!

New Years we had a house full! Our oldest son was home from the Navy and brought friends... the other kids had friends over and we had family here.

To say I was exhausted, was a understatement!

I watched the New Years announcement and entered my first time right after that. The next day was full of laundry and cleaning and grocery shopping.

Leaving the grocery store that night I found a super bright brand new penny face up. DH laughed when I picked it up. I said to him, well it cant hurt!


The next day was the second and I was busy with all the kids. I ran by the computer and entered really quick. Honestly I didn't even give it a second thought. Well, I guess I did - I really like the romance package.


The following day was the third and I threatened everyone with bodily harm (I'm a former Marine, so they know I mean it - LOL) that it was sleep in day!

The house was pretty calm except I kept hearing my call phone ringing upstairs. Nobody calls me ever except the kids and they were all at home. I finally drag my but upstairs and find the phone. 3 missed calls and a voice mail.


Honestly, I don't even remember what the message said. I call her right back. V was super nice and we started to talk about some things we have in common (Nationality) and then she said I was a possible winner! She emailed over my docs. The kids thought I was full of it!


So far we picked Disney World and the Romance package.


We just went to Disneyland and California Adventure in the summer. We took the Amtrak from San Diego right up the Pacific coast line. It was a amazing trip. There's such a big difference from the Land and the World. We really prefer the world. I went to Disneyland a lot as a kid.



This will be my 6th trip to Disney World - I love to plan almost more the the I love to go.


Were hoping to stay at the Beach Club and go from June 1st to at least the 9th.


June is warm but I love Star Wars Weekends! We've never taken the kids in June so I'm a little concerned they wont deal with the heat well. DH and I have been twice at that time with out them. We use to do Vegas every year, but we have more fun in Disney!


What else... I live around central Ohio but I'm a native of Las Vegas and grew up in Scottsdale Az. I'm still not use to Ohio.. but it will do for now! (I could live with out the snow!)




I hope the rest of the winners will just jump in and tell us all about themselves and about their win!

Hi all. I first heard about the giveaway on New Year's Day through my travel agents post on FB. I entered most days but thought never in a million years would I win so if i missed a day it wasn't a big deal. Around the beginning of last week I got a sense of urgency about the giveaway but brushed it off so i wouldn't get my hopes up. On the 22nd I went down to do the laundry and saw a fed ex driver leaving my house, I had a mini heart attack as I ran to the door to yell "I'm here, don't go" I opened the door to find my home party order had shown up I slept in on the 23rd, I was running behind getting my daughter to school so I didn't even look at my cell phone, I got the kids dressed and out the door. We got home and there was a voice mail on the phone, I started freaking out again! Man I was getting jumpy, I needed a reality check! Anyways it was the dentist, I sat down with my coffee and iPhone to delete my junk mail and go on the DISborads, I started to delete emails I was just about to delete an email when I read the subject line "Disney time sweepstakes!" I almost lost it. I couldn't even read it I was shaking so bad, once I focused and got through the you have been selected part I called DH. I screamed into the phone "I won, I won, I @*#% won!" He had no idea what I was talking about, so once I calmed down I read the email. The rest of the day I was in lala land, trying to absorb it and randomly screaming in joy.

I am the only Canadian to have won on the boards that I know of, although V mentioned there had been other Canadian winners.

We live in BC on the beautiful Vancouver island, my DH34 and I will be leaving the kids home and going with another couple to wdw, and we have chosen the romance package as well. We are hoping to go in October.

That's about it for now, I'm looking forward to everyone's stories

Hello everyone! I got what can only be described as the best phone call of life this past monday and I have been in a daze of excitement ever since! I will be taking my first trip ever to Disneyland!!

I want to throw a big congrats to everyone else who won and a big ol' good luck to those still crossing their fingers! Still two more days of drawing left!!

Just a quick question for fellow winners, were you also told to mail the original copy of your notarized affidavit to Ventura Management? The person I spoke to on the phone said I was supposed to but she did not answer my question as to which exact address I was to mail it to (there is an address at the bottom of her emails but I obviously want it to end up in the right place). I sent her a scanned copy already and received by letter telling me that I would be contacted by disney in Feb so she has one copy. Can someone help me out with this, I would be so grateful!

If its like last year, we are looking at the grand so we don't have to travel for the spa, we are also considering the poly and contemporary, we want to be on the monorail. My only concerns about the poly and grand are the construction that's happening. It sounds like the exterior construction at the grand should be done by October so I'm hoping its not to noisy. As for our add on days I'm thinking port Orleans riverside, I want to spend some time in dtd and think it would be nice to be close by.

Yes I did, I sent it registered express, I don't think it was necessary but I didn't want it lost. It cost about $25 but to me it was money well spent, and it had a delivery time of 3 days but is on day 4 so I should get my money back. Although I'm not holding my breath on can post!

Congratulations to everyone that has won! I won last year for the OMDD trip giveaway. I stayed at the Grand Floridian, and it was fantastic! Construction was going on for the new DVC rooms next to it, but it really didn't affect much of anything, and it certainly didn't ruin our trip. I would highly suggest a monorail resort. I don't know what the construction is like now, as we last were there in August of 2012. The spa was also closed at the Grand, so I can't comment on that lol. Personally I would choose the Poly, but that's just me Anways, way to go everyone, and any questions for past winners feel free to let us know, there are several of us hanging around here.

I am so excited for the disney planner to call!! I think I have it figured out and would love any advice!! I would love to Travel Oct. 16 -23. I would like to add 3 days at the hotel so we have travel days on each end and a relaxing day in between (maybe). This will be our first WDW trip and we have 3 boys. I want to stay at the poly. Our youngest son has a sensory disorder so being on the monorail is important to us. I need to be able to run him back to the room to relax if possible!! I am wanting to do 2 or 3 character meals including the one at o'hana. I would love to go to the one where Mary poppins is at but not sure if my 4 boys(hubbie included) would be up for it!! Please let me know what you all think? Any advice would be much appreciated!

What package did you choose? If you chose one with the water parks and more upgrade you also get 5 entries into the secondary parks, if I understood the rules right. So you could do 5 days with your park hopper and on you down day if your up for it you can check out a water park or other secondary park.
