I’m on the left and Mom is on the right

This was our second cruise and the first time on the Wonder. Our first cruise took place on the Dream last March so there was a lot of comparing going on when we got on the Wonder. We are definitely hooked on DCL. I’m thinking this will be more of an abridged TR focusing mainly on pictures, but please forgive me if I start to get long winded which does tend to happen from time to time.

The cruise left from Miami but flights were cheaper into Fort Lauderdale so we went the cheaper route and flew into FLL. We still needed to get to the Port of Miami and thanks to the DIS I learned about SAS, a transfer company based out of Fort Lauderdale. For $15 each person we could get to the Port of Miami and the same back to FLL at the end of the cruise.

We were both impressed with the Port of Miami. From reports I guess I was expecting something run down and dirty, but it was rather nice. A little small for the crowds waiting to board but it had some beautiful sculptures that I managed to miss taking photos of. We were able to use the Silver Castaway Club member line for the first time and didn’t have to wait at all. It was less than fifteen minutes later that we were boarding the ship. Mom had found Minnie and we took that photo while waiting to board.

Mom was excited!

Look at all that fruit being loaded up. I’m amazed how much food they prepare each day.

I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t like the atrium since it is much smaller than the Dream’s but there was no need to worry, it was gorgeous!

The chandelier was absolutely amazing

Instead of going straight to lunch we first went upstairs to grab me a beverage. Yes, you can get beverages at lunch, but I needed to change our Palo reservation and wanted to do that right at 12:30. I had booked Palo for the last night of the cruise but as it turns out that would be the only night we would be at Tritons and definitely did not want to miss it.

Of course I took pictures on the way.

A little splash area for the kids. The one on the Dream is much bigger and under shade.

This is the heavenly Quiet Cove adult only pool area.

Two hot tubs are there as well

The Quiet Cove on the Dream does not even compare to this. This is completely open to the sun whereas the one on the Dream is quite closed in and is covered in shade a lot of the day.

Love all the pictures! How did you like sailing out of Miami? We loved it. Great view while passing South Beach :cool1:

Welcome! Thanks so much :)

We really liked going out of Miami, it was super easy, would definitely do it again. As of right now I have a B2B booked for next January out of Miami as well.

Welcome! Thanks for coming over :)

We were happy campers that's for sure! After the first cruise we couldn't wait to do one again.

Subscribing....
We are going on the Wonder in 12 days to the Wertern Caribbean.
Great pics, so far :)

It was getting close to 12:30 so we made our way down to Studio Sea. Of course taking pictures along the way.

Everything is just gorgeous.

I walked around the corner and who was it but the Mouse Himself!

We were able to change the Palo reservation with no problem at all to the next night. Our dinner schedule was APPT with the second P being Pirate Night. Mom didn’t want to miss Pirate Night so we went with the first P which worked out perfectly. Then we were off to Parrot Cay for lunch and of course I took more pictures. I think you’re getting the theme here.

We went through Shutters, and this is what it looks like without all the pictures displayed.

I sailed on the Dream and then the Wonder, as well. I'm eager to read your impressions!

Welcome! There are many things I liked about the Wonder better, and a few I liked about the Dream better. Both cruises were amazing though.

First one with DCL.
We were on the Carnival Dream in November of 2011 :).

Oh I can't wait to hear what you think of DCL. Just in case you don't know, you can get Mickey bars from room service and at dinner. Our tablemates didn't know and were a tad disappointed I hadn't told them on the first evening.

Welcome back Pam! Your cruise is off to such an awesome start. I hope you had a great time! The ship is beautiful and the Miami port looks very nice. So does the scenery leaving port.

So did you fly to Miami the same morning the cruise was due to leave?

Welcome Mary Ellen! We had a fabulous time, thank you! I couldn't get over how beautiful the ship was. Pictures just don't do it justice.

Yes, and I will never do that again. It was snowing the morning we left and we sat in the plane for 50 minutes before take off. I was quite stressed to say the least. Never again will I leave the day of the cruise.
