Just wondering if anyone here has tried this restaurant out? I enjoy Mexican/Latin/Caribbean cuisin, and from the looks of the menu it has peeked my interest. I'd like to hear some feed back on any of your experience, good or bad of Bongo's Cuban Cafe.

Im also interested to find out about this location, especially as it now also seems to be on the ddp as a cs for the walk up window bit, so I'll be interested to hear how the food is in the main restaurant or at the take out window. :)

We have been for dinner a few times & thought it was good. Have not been in probably 2 years, so hopefully someone chimes in with a more recent review.

We had lunch there over Spring Break last year. It was pretty good. I had the Media Noche and it was delicious. For dessert, I had the bread pudding and it was okay. It came out cold and in the form of a loaf slice, which I though was weird.

Our waitress was terrible though. We were one of about four tables in the whole restaurant that was occupied and I could never find her for drink refills or extra napkins. Other than pestering us every two minutes when we were first seated about if we were ready to order, we never saw her again until she dropped off the check without asking if we wanted dessert. BTW, we were on the dining plan. So she acted like we were bothering her by ordering dessert because she had to remake the check. In hindsight, I probably should have complained but my daughter was getting whiney and I just wanted to go.

The food here is delicious! :lovestruc We've gone here for dinner the last two summers and both times really enjoyed our meals. We've gotten the Vaca Frita de Pollo, Chicharrones de Pollo, and Camarones Enchilados. We enjoyed them all.

We tried this on one of our trips about 12 years ago. I know it's along time, the menu has probably changed but...I got a pork dish and it was the best pork I have ever had. And I don't even like pork lol.

I was just looking at their menu today! We are going to DTD our first day. My SO is dominican & since moving away from NY we hardly find any good Spanish food. So I think this might be an option for us as well! Anyone have pictures of the food? :)

Amazing!! we went last year for my boyfriend's 23rd Birthday meal. The atmosphere is great, and they have amazing cocktails there!!! We had the Paella which in all honestly could have served about 10 people not 5!!! we were sat actually in the pineapple in a booth, which was special!!

I had lunch here on my last visit in March. I love Bongo's! I am returning to Disney 5 times this year and Bongos is on the list for each visit!!

So far I am really encouraged with the positive response of this place. I have a feeling Bongo's is going to be on our list of ADR's this year. Keep em coming! :thumbsup2

This is our go-to restaurant when we don't have an ADR. I don't think we've ever waiting longer than 20 minutes. And when there is a wait, we just pony up to the bar and get one of their excellent mojito's.

The food is good...nothing gourmet...but lots of options that aren't so heavy. The fried sweet plantains are great. Love their rice. The Orroz Con Pollo is a nice simple dish.

NOTE: The food is about average, and not too far off the going rate
for pricing. However, the service leaves far too much to be desired -
bordering on rude. Better to chose Mexican beer than mixed drinks,
as the drinks are quite disgusting. The outdoor QS serving window is
good. We are fond of going to a noon-matinee at the AMC movies
after a sandwich from the serving window. The good thing is that
the eatery is seldom over crowded and easy to get a seat without
an ADR. (This could also tell you something about the quality.)

Two senior friends and I walked up for cocktails and apps, nicely dressed, and got a table on the balcony in minutes. While ordering the waiter informed us that we were expected to order dinner, and if we weren't, that we should not be taking a table from dining customers. (Seriously?? The place was 1/2 full at 7 PM.) We had to get up and find a waiter to bring us a second round, and he was not happy to do so. I've never had that experience before. The three of us spent over $100 on drinks and apps, no tip. That said, the place was very festive with loud, fun music, nice decor. No one was using the dance floor. I might have liked it, but we were clearly not welcome -- the opposite of "how can I make your day magical?" And yes, the gentleman in our group asked to speak with the manager, and was were told the manager was too busy.

I love eating here and sitting outside. My favorite is the fruit salad. Not sure what it reads on the menu but I eat it as my meal. The presentation is gorgeous and I will try to come back and add a photo.

We eat there once a month or so. We like it and enjoy the evening show.

We loved Bongo's when we went a few years ago. The food was delicious. My bf keeps asking when we are going back to eat there.
