"Special" Transportation?

Hi! I am debating between the Boardwalk and WL for our next trip... we stayed at the WL in 2011 and we LOVE it there. Having a hard time not staying there again, however, we are intrigued with the Boardwalk and might try something different. (Also have previously stayed at CBR).

My question is this: WL has the boat from the lodge to MK, which I adore! Does Boardwalk have anything like that, any special transportation anywhere other than the buses? Buses are fine, but the boat is fun!! :) Thanks!

Boardwalk has boat service to DHS and EPCOT but you can walk to both places from the resort. The walk to EPCOT is quick and easy with the walk to DHS being a bit longer.:)

We just got back from a split stay at the Poly and the BW, with 3 nights at each. The reason we split stays is to make transportation easier - For the 3 nights at the Poly we do the MK then when at the BW we do DHS and Epcot. We have stayed at the WL before and absolutely love it also.

As the previous post stated, depending on where your room is in the BW, you are looking at like an 8-10 min walk to Epcot and maybe 15-17 pleasant walk to DHS. There are boats that run between Epcot, the Yacht and beach club, the BW, the Swan and Dolphin and DHS.

If I had to choose between the two I would go with the BW. You have two theme parks within easy walking distance, but in addition to that, there is so much more to do in the BW area, esp at night.

Hope this helps!!

Very informative... thank you! I get stuck, love the place we stay and want to go back, but also want to try something new. We did CBR twice, and it was like pulling teeth for hubby to get me to give that up for WL, but then, WOW. LOL. Thanks again!

My DS loved walking on the Boarwalk in the evenings watching the performers (juglers, uniclists, magicians, etc...)

The Boardwalk offers you a chance to try more Restaurants with over 10 dining choices around the lake. I walked to DHS in the morning and took the Boat back to the Resort in the evening.

I was thinking my son would too!

Good idea - thanks!
