The "Extras" that come with Magic Your Way

I'm referring to the list below of coupons that come with the package. Do you ever use them? Are there ones you particularly enjoy? I know we used the arcade one once and I think we went to Planet Hollywood in like 1999 and haven't felt the need to go back. I'm thinking I might try the DisneyQuest one which seems new to me and was always something I thought was too expensive to just do or perhaps we'll go play miniature golf. Never have because we always seem to be on the run and a lot of it seems like fluff. I just saw a friends package and a character call but not sure what that is. Maybe I'm missing something by tossing most of these. ... Which ones do you use?

I'm thinking of doing the character call, but that's it. The arcade voucher is for at the most 2 games, I'm sure the kids will want to do more then one game each. Planet Hollywood is no deal as there's 4 of us and we're not really into that type of restaurant. No time for the rest of the stuff.

This is our 1st time, so we haven't had a chance to use them before. DD is only 5, and we're not telling her where we're going, so a character call is out of the question, I think.

My question, just to tag onto your thread -- does anyone know if the vouchers are transferrable? I'd be happy to pass most of them on to others if that's allowed . . . .

We always use the arcade credits./ 2 games free is still 2 games free. We're pretty frugal and the kids are used to that. While they would like more, they prefer to have one game than none at all. That said, my son absolutely adores arcades and does not mind paying for overpriced arcade games. So last trip, $20 of his souvenir money went to arcade games. I tried to talk him out of it as we spent TWO full days at DisneyQuest that same trip playing all the games for FREE. It didn't matter - he still had to blow $20 at the arcade.

We were going to do minigolf, but opted to spend more time at DisneyQuest instead. That said, I don't remember our package coming with a decent minigolf coupon (I think it came with something - but I thought it sounded crappy). Neither did we get DisneyQuest coupons. We had WPF&M.

We did use the $15 PH voucher. From the Dis, I found you could use it without ordering a full meal. We decided to go one afternoon when we were at DQ. A friend we met at WDW gave us his voucher as he wasn't going to be able to use it. Our waiter allowed us to stack both vouchers giving us $30 to spend. We were allowed to use it on anything except alcoholic drinks. We got 1 meal for the kids to share plus an app for me and a dessert for DH. We had a wonderful time and total came to just $30. (So a free meal - we did tip generously though!) The food was EXCELLENT. Atmosphere ended up to be great and my DS in particular loved the theming.

I would definitely go again for desserts or apps with the free $15. That said, on a previous trip we ended up skipping it because we ran out of time. So I would only fit it in if we had the time.

A note about transferring the coupons: they are fully transferable, but only valid for the dates of each package. Ours was only valid for the dates we were staying there.

We have used the Planet Hollywood voucher one time because we checked in the night before our package with DDP started and had to pay for dinner anyway. We thought that since no one was really that hungry we would go to PH order a couple of appies and be able to save a few dollars. In the end it was just OK....the place was extremely noisey and the tables were so close together that we had to slither into our seats. The food was fine but we will never go there again.

Last year we let our DD use the arcade voucher....she was in and out in less than 5 minutes. So we felt bad and ended up giving her another $30 to go in and play with. We wouldn't do this again either. My DD ended up with a bunch of really cheap junk (dollar store type stuff) that I had to pack and bring home. She really didn't have that much fun, she said most of the games didn't give very many tickets which seems to be the barometer of fun.

Other than those 2 we have never had any need to use the other vouchers. It looks like they are now offering DQ admission as an extra???? That I would use. We went there a few years ago and had a really fun afternoon. It's a great place to go on a cool or rainy day.

I don't see why you couldn't give the vouchers to someone else. When I used them they were just taken from me no questions asked. I can't speak to vouchers that are printed right today but the ones I had last year had no names or anything printed directly on them.

I would think that even if they did want some sort of ID a KTTW card would be all they would want.

Always use the Planet Hollywood voucher, for an evening out of pocket meal, so we have two table service credits for CRT.pixiedust:

If anyone has extra vouchers they're not going to use, I'll gladly take the mini golf, DQ, or PH ones off your hands!

I thought ours always had our trip dates on them and weren't valid after checkout?

The only ones we've ever used are the mini golf.

We just used the DQ vouchers last week for our family of 4. My parents gave us theirs to use with our two vouchers. I always wanted to try it, but didn't want to spend the money. My DH and DS 11 only stayed about 20 minutes. They thought it was too loud and didn't care for it. My son did have a headache earlier in the day. My DD 7 liked the POTC game and JC. She also enjoyed the art area, not sure what it was called. I'm really glad we tried it because I had always wanted to. I would go back if the kids really wanted to and it's still not costing me anything. I would liken it to a giant arcade with unlimited quarters.

Your parents at Wdw at the same time? It vouchers from another trip?

I believe the vouchers have dates on them - only valid during your stay dates.

We always use the mini-golf and sometimes the $15 planet hollywood. We have never gone to DQ before and plan to use the coupon to check it out this trip.

Question---in addition to the printed mini-golf voucher, at check-in we also get tickets (one per person) for mini-golf or the sports venue admission. I don't see other people talking about this package add-on and wonder why it is always attached to our package? Are these tickets part of everyone's package?

Yes...there are dates on them but I think it's a touch broader than you stay dates. BUT, very close.

Well, even if the dates are enforced, I'm local & might be able to use them during the dates of the donor's vacation :)

They were there at the same time. I'm pretty sure the start date for the vouchers was the same day as check-in. I'm not sure about when they expire. We drove to Orlando and stayed off site the first night and I'd have liked to used them that night, but the dates weren't valid. I didn't try to use them though, I just read the dates.

We haven't done MYW in a while (since we got APs) but we did in the past.

The PH voucher used to be our first night tradition until a constant stream of crappy service and even worse food soured us to it. We haven't been back in years nor will we ever. There's plenty better food to be had at DTD.

I actually LOVE the minigolf courses. We've played both sides at Fantasia Gardens; they're each great in their own way. Haven't trekked over to Winter Summerland yet but I'll have to do that too.

We've also used the arcade card (on our monsoon-soaked honeymoon) and the boat rental.

We just got back last week and didn't use any of our vouchers/coupons - except for the AAA Wishes Reserved Viewing area one.

Was planning on using the PH $15 coupon but our ADR was for 8:30 and we were hungry at 6:30 - used a couple of CS point and ate at WPE which worked well for us as we were on the Stay, Play and Dine plan. Used the extra TS for Monsieur Paul's 2TS pp dinner.....

We always use the Marina voucher. DW is a photographer and loves to find new shots while we cruise the water ways, and I love piloting the boat. I think this is also a great "change of pace" type adventure to have on your visit.

Throw the Planet Hollywood voucher out, IMHO. Crappy service and crappy food, even with a discount.

Last trip was the first time we used the mini-golf. We really enjoyed it.

I grew up in the 70's-80's so I always take advantage of the arcade voucher.

DW used the spa discount and LOVED it!

Can't speak to the others.
