Cheddar cheese soup?Only Le Cellier?

i also have made the soup from Allearsnet and go dining and under recipes.Its awesome. Also make the risotto and it is FABULOUS!!

To poster if you are going during Food and Wine u can get it at kiosk.

Maybe, but any restaurant in the "real world" offers to go. Just saying! Doesn't matter since it's not something that will happen anyway!

The recipe from allears is fantastic. The soup tastes just like Lecelliers! You have to follow the directions and steps as they are written though. I once didn't follow the steps in exact order and the soup was grainy. I also heat up the soup a little after adding the last ingredients. My husband is in awe of me because of this soup LOL!

DH and I went last week and just had soup and a dessert. I don't think it should be a problem.
As for making it, it is really good and not hard at all.

Take out can be done by a manager. Greeters don't have access to the servers computers so they can't imput orders.

Thanks for the reply. That's interesting. I wonder what it would take for them to be set up for this? We know they already have the boxes for the food. I wonder why you can't just place a take out order through the hostess or the bar and then wait like you normally would? Might control the ADR madness too!

I wish you luck in your decision, I'm going to try Le Celliar's for the first time this coming October , though I do admit the 2 credit charge is a little daunting.

I like the Big River soup. It is not the same as Le Cellier's though. Not even close.

Most Disney restaurants are not set up to handle takeout orders. Large numbers of takeout orders would likely overwhelm the kitchen. WDW is not the real world. Occasional takeout may be possible but at most places, don't count on it. Le Cellier also has no bar or area for separate ordering.

Made a version of this last night and the family loved it (and they have all had it at Le Cellier, so I was happy that it was a good substitute!). I had a recipe that I realized later last night (post-dinner) was what I guess is the "old" recipe -- i.e., the first one from allears.net that has carrots (the two updates do not). I also later looked in my Delicious Disney cookbook and realized it was slightly different. Not sure if the restaurant itself has changed its recipe over the years. Anybody know? Either way, it's a great recipe and, if you're lucky, you can find some pretzel bread at your grocery. Our local Harris Teeter has a dead ringer for Le Cellier's pretzel breadsticks, and I have also seen pretzel "rolls" at Trader Joe's. DD10 wiped her bowl clean!

I thought about just going for soup and dessert, but my DS doesn't eat cheese at all and the new menu changed the dessert that my DD and DS loved. Would it be weird to go and just eat soup,pay cash for the soup and leave a tip related to the amount of the bill we paid and leave? Tips?

No not weird at all , We do it all the time, soup for DD and DW and salad for myself than DD and myself switch half way through. We split dessert three ways, pay in cash and everyone was happy and very courteous. We do try to leave at least a 18% tip out of respect for the reduction in total bill and time invested for our server.
Don't forget you still have freedom of choice even when under the thumb of the mouse.

They have boxes for leftovers. So we know that boxes are in the restaurants. So I am guessing that is what the PP meant.

I think what the poster meant is that people are able to box up leftovers at Disney restaurants. This would not be possible if there were no boxes in the restaurant.

I'm guessing this person has either had their leftovers boxed up or seen someone have their leftovers boxed up and therefore knows that boxes exist in the restaurant.

I have had left overs boxed up and I have had take out soup before on 2 or 3 occasions and turned down on many other occasions. My only successful times have been right at opening for dinner at the inside check in podium.

My DD loves the cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier. Last time we went wo WDW we couldn't afford to go to Le Cellier, but I said that next time we would try to go. With the new 2 credit TS at lunch, the restaurant entrees are just too expensive for 4 of us. We don't do the DDP but we have gone to Le Cellier, each gotten the soup and then shared a chocolate mousse.

Also if you're going during food and wine festival, you can buy cups of the cheese coup from one of the kiosks.
