Stopping in to say hi. We are early dismissal today- not that it matters for the hs as its midterms and they get out at noon anyway. Supposed to be freezing rain later, hope it doesn't mess yo tomorrow-the conversation in the car was, what if its delayed opening tomorrow-what about exams?

oh I did forget about
:goodvibes MNSSHP is awesome!!!

Thanks to our friend Padawans, I realized I don't have to be too quick to book my FEB 2014 trip to DL,
:thumbsup2

Ok, I just checked for availability at the BC for the dates that I'm already there. We're checking in 8/31 and staying through 9/7. The first three days are labor day weekend, and it appears that the BC is booked solid.

Of course, now I'm panicky. So what do I do? Go check out availability everywhere else. Looks like the Poly is wide open. A club room there is about $600 per week more than what I'm paying for BC CL.

I'm not telling my husband yet, he already thinks I'm crazy. I really like being so close to Epcot and DHS at the BC. The Poly room would be larger and I'd still have easy access to MK and Epcot.

What would you do if you were me?
Honestly for 600...I'd switch to Poly. But that's me...I LOVE the MK area!!! Once, discounts come out (possibly with the exception of Labor Day weekend) that may widen the gap on price..BC gets at least 10% more off and it's cheaper to begin with..I think. The Poly pool gets crowded too, but you could splurge on a cabana and have a pool day! The CL lounge is much bigger with that yummy punch!!! Sorry...got lost for a moment :rotfl: We are staying YC for a huge discount, but I'll be pressed not to change if Poly or WL or GF can offer 35% again this summer...(I doubt it though )

And our DHs already accept our nuttiness...yours will too :cutie:

I have not yet booked our trip, but I was planning on the Pop as usual. Then decided we could swing a Moderate this year and spent hours looking into to CBR and was certain we'd book there. Then added the pirate rooms to our ideal reservation. Decided to wait out closer to 180 days so I don't add to the booked roster and damper free dining chances of being offered. Then stumbled upon CSR resort, have spent past several days reading every detail about the resort and decided to book there.

So I have changed 3 resorts without actually booking :rotfl2:

So I have to ask, I made a good choice with CSR right?? LOL
:cool2: I think you'll like CSR!!! Lots of fans here!!!

IMHO, you made a good choice in NOT picking CBR! :rotfl:
My family did not like that resort at.all.
Mine either Candace!!!

Well the mil was supposed to have gotten the DHs W2 back on Friday, so hopefully we can get our taxes done soon. The DH wants me to get him some prices. I never knew he wanted to go so bad, or maybe it is that he knows I want to go so bad, and he wants to be able to make me happy. He said that even if we have to stay offsite to make the trip possible, he is willing to do that. I am not willing to, but I will stay at the Pop Century if we have to.
:woohoo: I really liked Pop though....how about a mod???

Hmmm....the Poly is lovely:love: BUT $600 is still a bit of a chunk of change. Are you panicky because you think it will be too crowded? Is your family planning on spending more time at MK than the other parks? If so, it may be worth it to change to the Poly.

I realize I am no help, we have stayed at the Polynesian twice and loved it. But we are also trying something new with the BC CL this May. New is good!!:)
New is good...new is good! (Hey Jen Poly is getting a refurb...that counts as new) New is good. My kids will like SAB...I will not miss the castle

Love and miss you all!!
We miss you Deena!!!! Maybe you can come to our CRT breakfast, if you're off of course, I was gonnajust bring Bree, but the girls all wanna come now!!! I can't book until the end of February anyway, let me know! We'd love you to come, they absolutely adore you!!! So do I!!!!

Yeah, I guess since I've had him this long (will be 18 yrs on July 1st), I'll just go ahead and keep him. Besides, he's almost trained. :lmao:
Are they ever REALLY trained...broken in maybe :rotfl:

Hope midterms go well for DS!!!! Snowing here...it's very pretty

Ok so Universal is back. Last year I cancelled and rebooked it four times so this is nothing new for me. Just for fun I decided to take a look at my year end Disney Visa statement.:lmao: I'm glad Chase has a good computer system that is capable of keeping track of that mess.

I found a really nice dog kennel near our home. I think I'm going to leave doggy here. I want to upgrade to CL at RPR. PAS any thoughts on this or should I stick with what I know HRH CL? Opinions please.:worship: Universal has not copied Disney yet! I still have my discount.

Our families vote is HRH CL. We loved RPR! HRH has the edge on larger rooms, and better nighttime snacks/desserts. Breakfast was the same. Plus HRH definitely has the better pool. I know you can pool hop, but it's easier to just take the elevator :thumbsup2 Plus it's a shorter walk to the parks..or felt shorter....The kids loved both lounges...both "beaches" but they prefer having a slide in the pool.

Darn I was hoping you would say RPR so I could try something new. If you take the slide out the equation which is the better pool? My kids don't care about the pool slides anymore. They do enjoy playing volleyball and ping pong with the other kids. The also like a good beach to play on. Is the RPR only 3 feet deep like HRH. The RPR pool looks bigger in the pictures for some reason.

We won't be around for desserts, but which resort has the best appetizers? Did RPR have hard boiled eggs?

I've been stalking the Universal resorts for a while. I heard that RPR is great from friends who stayed there. The reviews I've read say that the HRH has a fantastic pool, so I've been leaning towards that one. Both last year and this we've contemplated going to Universal for a day during our Disney trip, but I never do it. Next year I think we'll do a trip where we stay at both.

Slide out...RPR pool feels bigger. They had a volleyball net up, and half is shallow and other end is definitely deeper! It's got a lot of foilage so it feels more secluded. They have ping pong too. we stayed on the zero entry side with the girls but DS12 did swimming on the other side with DH. They did have hard boiled eggs and it was never crowded in the lounge. All things considered...time to try RPR CL! There is a separate beach area away from the pool the boys could play on..that's never crowded! I did see a few weddings there :cloud9: The dinner appetizers were Polynesian based, fried rice, chicken strips, egg rolls, unlike WDW you could make alight dinner out of them! (of course my picky girls didn't like anything) They liked the wings at HRH when we were there

Thanks. I thinks I'll stick with RPR for now. Of course you know I could change my mind.:rolleyes1 I actually haven't called to check on availability yet so that could be a deciding factor. I do love HRH CL, but gosh darn it I feel like I need to try one new thing on this trip. Now that I'm on the fence so to speak about a Sept trip I'm thinking about changing Wl Cl to BW CL. Do I really want to speak to guest services again?:duck: I have a bad case of changeritis today.

So, DH caught me on the phone with CRO again this weekend...checking for Poly availability again (still a no-go, only LV CL available).

My theory is that the GV rooms might not be available because they face Tokelau, which is scheduled for refurb during the time we are there, and if you have seen construction pictures at the Poly right now, isn't pretty...:scared:

Soooo....he got a little mad and asked why I can't leave things alone and how much is looking forward to the Yacht Club, yada, yada, yada. He can't wait for our date night and wandering WS and having drinks and snacks. :goodvibes

Just tell me to leave well enough alone. YC and POLY are in the top 2 for wanting to try them, and I got YC...leave well enough alone, leave well enough alone...right??? I need help! :p

RPR CL is also cheaper...a little, which would offset a change from WL to BW......hmmm I am NOT helping I know....:goodvibes

O no a changdemic..we are all infected :p The only cure is a call! Maybe GV CL rooms are booked because people are getting smart since GV CL is cheaper than a TPV room. AND you get the beautiful castle view CL. I know the Poly pulls you Candace, but it pushes you away too..and you are PIF!!! You could still have date night at WS from the Poly....ugh...I will admit if I could get Poly GV CL at close to my $$$ for YC CL I'd have a hard time leaving it :rolleyes2

Yeah, I'm looking at a mere (at this point) $450 to go from YC CL to Poly GV CL if it opens up! But, what are the chances???
I feel like I just need to stop.

Let it Snow, let it snow, let it snow :rotfl2: Ok I have lost my mind! Dr's office just called to confirm my appt. for tomorrow :scared: I had to cancel last week due to icy roads. I so hate Winter!

Jeanette And anyone else thinking about the Poly, since I plan on booking there not to mention the "new rooms" I will be surprised to see more than a 15% discount in the future. Remember when I booked CR And dscounts were released it was only 5%? :lmao: I am jinxed but I am booking the Poly even if I have to give up eating :rotfl:

Have a nice day All! :flower3:

The spring discount was 20% at Poly...with no discount at CL...my PIN for early August...no CL availability :scared1: perhaps I am jinxed as well...:rolleyes1 I will order some Garden Grocer for ya Sheila...tell Bob you have to ration it though :rotfl: The regular rooms WILL have a discount...yes yes yes :wizard:

I know, it's sad! :( I remember when we got 40% off at Poly. We figured with the amount we've paid to stay there the past 3 yrs, we could have bought a DVC. So, now we're looking at purchasing a DVC since we go every year and prefer staying deluxe, even that is pricey!!

Sent from my Galaxy S II

That's how I justify my end of August CL...no way WDW will ever give close to 50% off

:woohoo: I really liked Pop though....how about a mod???

I like the Pop, other than the terrible beds, and claustrophobic bathroom. It'll all depend on the tax return. We'll have to make sure we have at least $1K above the package cost for travel there and back. We'll still be driving.

Are they ever REALLY trained...broken in maybe :rotfl:

You're right, broken in seems more correct.

Hope midterms go well for DS!!!! Snowing here...it's very pretty

I love it when it snows here!! I hope we get at least one more snow this Winter, but I'm not holding my breath. The highs have been in the 70's and the lowest high we have on the 10 day forecast is a 59.

Happy Monday all!

So this weekend, Southwest had a sell that included my city and Orlando. I could get there for about $100 for each of us. But the ticket home was more like $350  I told dh we could just go and stay  We could have stayed into the next week but I didn't want to keep the kids out of school after Spring Break. Bummer! :confused3

My DH can't wait to move to a warmer climate, he works outside. He'd take summer over winter anyday. Sadly until we hit the lottery or he retires...he will have to wait :worried:

Good luck on your taxes...we were hammered this year :(

That IS a bummer

Jeanette: I've been RC-MIA and now I spy a YC ticker. Does this mean I need to get my Lodger's Log eraser out?

:wave2: RCERS: I wanted to stop by and tell you all what a nice time I had two weeks ago at WDW. I had a lovely time, the weather was great, food was great and especially great was the company of Janet & Linda & Deena!

Thanks KOOK, I appreciated your extraordinary hosting efforts. And so timely the new site is up... I will be at CR Deluxe next month, 2/28 – 3/4 for our Anniversary Weekend.
Is there a group photo somewhere? What a great bunch of ladies!

I'm excited for your CR Deluxe room stay - they are so roomy! And, don't worry about being upgraded. You booked an elusive Deluxe room so they wouldn't move you as that would be a downgrade, unless it were to a suite, which I think will be closed while you're there.

Thanks!! We're almost settled!! I'm taking 10 days off in February to tie up all loose ends (and unpack those last boxes). Oh the cabins--too close to critters--makes my anxiety spike just thinking about it :rotfl: I'm still totally undecided!!
Too close to critters??? But are these rodents OK?
