Another option, if you are really concerned, would be to use a cab.
Call down to bell services about 20 minutes before you are ready to go & ask them to get a cab for you. You may want to make the arrangements earlier if you will need a vehicle that can carry more than 4 people.

It has been ages since we've used that option, but AKL to the Speedway was about $20. I'm sure it has gone up since then. Cost a little extra, but you have the piece of mind of skipping the bus (and maybe get to sleep in an extra 20 minutes).

Thanks! I think we will probably just wake up early... Ohana is our first, we may see how it goes, go from there!

There is so much else I could be (should be!) doing since I'm no longer working, but since I'm leaving for WDW soon..........

it will all keep till I get home!!! :rotfl:

Do you like being at home and not working?

Sometimes I wish I was not working anymore and other times I really enjoy what I do and like being out and about.

I do enjoy being at home, however, I loved the Study I was working on and really miss it (and my colleagues). :sad1:

To keep this on-topic......... I have dinner ADRs at both Boma & Sanaa next week! Not staying at AKL/AKV, but will get over that way at least twice! :thumbsup2

Plus, I'm really looking forward to ZDs from the dessert pod at Boma! ::yes:: (The ones in the Mara refrigerator are OK, but I'm missing those fresh ones!! :hyper:)

Are you going to get a picture with ZD and post on this thread?

Anyone?

I have 2nights POR/ 6 nights YC CL

Thinking of changing to AKL bunk/pool view 4 nights YC CL 4 nights.

Has anyone done a similar split?
I can't believe with 29 days to go I'm thinking of changing:confused3

We didn't mean to ignore you - sorry. :flower3:

I almost always do split stays! :thumbsup2 My rule of thumb is that I have to be making a lateral move or upgrading to a better property.

Not saying anything against AKL, but YC would be considered a superior property, especially if you're moving from non-Club Level at AKL to Club Level at another deluxe resort.

Having said that, YMMV. There's no right or wrong -- it's what will work for your family! :thumbsup2

You're welcome! If you do find the map you were referring to, would you please post it (or a link to it) here?! Thanks! :goodvibes

I'll look around tonight & if I find it, I'll post the link!

I'm a fan of split stays - and I do a few short trips per year - even on a 4-nt trip I've done a split! In 6 weeks I'm doing a WL CL/AKV split & I'm so flipping excited!

I do it for the opportunity to have 2 resort experiences in 1 trip. The resorts are a huge part of the vacation experience for me. I only travel with carry-ons so I never have a lot to pack up.

I agree with Rachel Tori - if I have a mod I do that part of the split 1st - so I don't feel like I'm "downgrading" at the end of my trip.

Thanks. I'm just thinking with my AP discount it makes more sense to stay delux except 1 st night we won't land until 8pm.
So either 1 night POR then head to YC CL for 7 nights
Or do a split with AKL then YC CL

Decisions decisions :confused3

Does anyone know off the top of their head it you need park tickets for sunrise safari? We are doing a trip in October but only want to spend two days in the parks.

I'm a splitter. And a resort changer! I feel your pain! I'm trying to rent points for the 1st time for the AKV portion of our stay in March - and it scares me that I'll be locked in with points- no changing or cancelling!

For Sunrise Safari - yes, you need park tickets. The CMs in the Club Lounge will scan them first thing in the morning before you even board the "Sunrise Safari" bus for AK.

We're just back home tonight. We were in room 4268 at Jambo House (Sunset Savannah). I'll post pictures ASAP.

Best trip EVER!!!

But, we still have to sadly say... AKL - BEST resort. WORST bus service. :headache:

Example of the bus service: yesterday we waited over an HOUR for a bus to Animal Kingdom. And that was with a lady working the bus stop telling us she had called for a bus. After about 30 minutes she walked down to the last bus stop & never came back.

That should never happen when you're going to AK. It's right across the street!!!!!!!!!!
