Less than 24 hours to go till I'm on a plane to Disney and Family. So excited now cannot sit still. :hyper:

POR Ready or not here we come pixiedust:

Leaving tomorrow morning. It wasn't the wonderful trip I had hoped for. Too many annoyances...

First of all the Brazillian tour groups were super annoying and Disney and Universal. Too many unsupervised kids blocking walkways, jamming up the lines and cutting in line. There were a ton of Brazillians in general. Never experienced that before since we usually go in October. Don't think I will go in January again.

We also had issues with inconsistencies with the height requirements at Mission Space and Everest. DD was cleared to go on Everest. At one height check she would be cleared and at another one next to it she would just be a hair too short. At Everest Her head just bumped the pole in the Stany By line. We get on the ride and it breaks down before we even leave the station. As we get off we are given fast passes valid for the next week. Since it was our last day at the parks and we park hopped just to ride Everest we waited around till it opened again. When we finally go to ride DD can't go because the guy could get a finger in between her head and the pole. We told him that she rode it before and we were even on it earlier when it broke down showing him our special passes. He wouldn't budge. It was a rotten way to leave Disney. Then on the way out we go to use our last 5 snack credits for ice cream and they say the computers are down and we needed to pay cash. We walk back to another stand in Dinosaur land. Luckily the guy just gave us the ice cream. I felt bad and offered to give him my information so they could verify our credits.

On the positive side I really enjoyed our stay at Port Orleans Riverside in the alligator bayou room. DD loved the Murphy bed. It was super cute! Need to remember to pack our own pillows. The Disney ones are too hard.

Sorry to hear it was a little less magical than it could have been. :(

We were there earlier in January and started to see the Brazilian tour groups. We were able to get around them. But, it is frustrating when a large group acts like they own Main Street, etc. the chaperones are oblivious.

We are at PoR right now, it's our last night here, sad to say. It has been a wonderful trip. Right this minute, I have to agree with pp about the teen tour groups. Until this trip, I have never been bothered by them. However, right now they are in the room connected to ours. It is 12:51 a.m. and they are banging on their door, running up and down the walkways and calling to each other. As we were in line for the bus home from Epcot tonight, a huge group came chanting into the line. Thankfully our bus was full before they got on but I feel sorry for anyone stuck on the next bus with them. If it were me, I would have waited for the next bus and let them have the bus to themselves. Though we saw lots of large groups in the parks, they were easy to work around there.

Otherwise we have had an awesome time. Weather has been perfect.

Two more sleeps! And my sister just decided to do a last minute trip with her girls (ages 18 and 19) to meet us for a long weekend there! My kids are beyond ecstatic....they adore their cousins. These girls haven't been to Disney in over 10 years so we can't wait to show them the ropes! :wizard:

We are back from our long weekend in Disney!

While it was nice to be there without our own kids, I don't think we'll do an "adult only" trip again.

Like some of the other posters mentioned, there were lots of Brazilian tour groups both in the parks and our hotel (Pop). The weather was nice but the crowds were MUCH heavier than I anticipated. It was much less crowded when we went during Jersey Week in November, which I wasn't expecting at all.

We did 3 parks on Friday (AK, MK & Epcot) and just Hollywood Studios on Saturday. We made the most of the FPs and took opur time, got to ride everything we wanted -- usually more than once!

I also realized I was spoiled by AoA. I didn't like Pop at all. It felt like a motel down the shore to me. We won't go back there again.

I did really enojy myself, and I'm so glad we went, but I'm going to take a Disney break for a little while. We're going to Jamaica in November and I'm looking forward to relaxing on the beach! I think we're gonna scrap our plan to return for a long weekend in Jan 2014 with the girls as we thought it was much too crowded this past week.

This was our first adults-only trip as well.

I agree it was more crowded than I thought it would be. Saturday at MK was crazy. More crowded than when we go in August, I thought. We used to always go in January and I remembered the crowds being much lower then. Maybe some people had off school for MLK and ended up staying all week. I do know that we did not plan well regarding which park would be least crowded- we usually are there a whole week, so we can plan around crowd predictions pretty well to avoid the biggest crowds. We had less flexibility with that on this trip. We wanted to do the Undiscovered Future World Tour in Epcot, and it was only offered on Friday, which left MK for Saturday and Sunday.

I think the crowds will be much less this week, but, sadly we are back home, now.

Enjoying ourselves here at WDW. Today was our first day out of 4 that we have seen a lot of BTGs. They have not been rude. We are at DHS and it is close quarters I think you see them more. We found a new interest at the park today...Disney Art animation. My little one cried because he couldn't draw good, but wanted to do it again. So here we go again! 4 days nearly behind us and 4 more to go.

Last weekend was crowded because it was the first weekend local Florida residents could pick up their special Florida resident passes. There was some type of promotion where if you buy one day you get more, something like that? So last weekend was crazy busy with locals. We are here at beach club after 8 nights and headed to AKL today for 3 more then headed home. We are all completely exhausted but super happy! The weather has been Amazing and at times almost too hot!

Headed home from the airport. We had a great trip. New things this trip: dole whip, bacon wrapped meatloaf, swimming, miniature golf, 2 days at Epcot, Be Our Guest, 1900 Park Fare strawberry soup, beauty and the Beast show, Disney Animation drawing class, Sci Fi diner, kids tall enough to ride everything and tiki room( never again). Sad to be headed back to reality, but excited to sleep in my own bed!

Sounds great! Dole whip is a family favorite. We enjoyed lunch at Be Our Guest - couldn't get a dinner reservation. DD19 won the artist's sketch at Disney Animation's class. That was fun. We loved January - definitely will go back at that time again!
