October 2013 Code Watch?!

Thanks....requested a quote. I'm sure it'll be way above what we can afford but it would be awesome to stay Beach Club......40% is a great discount.

Are we allowed to link to specific agencies and discounts? Obviously, it's being done here, so I guess we are? I hate being put in the DIS timeout corner by the mods. :duck: :rotfl:

I have booked with Magical many times and they've always been great. There are some other deals out for October, not with Magical, but still excellent discounts.

I checked just yesterday for our dates Oct 18-27, and they do indeed have an agency exclusive for Oct 26 - Nov 2. Wish our dates were more flexible, it's a great deal! It is not on there website, but you can request a quote.

I wish we could use one of their special offers, but they never offer them when my kids are on track out.

I just asked for a quote 2 and it would be amazing to be at the Beach Club.:cool1: Going Oct 24- November 3 Cruise on DCL and then split stay after for 3 more nights.

OK....I've got an issue. I sent for a quote this morning and got one back. Great price. However.....they offered a standard room at the Wilderness Lodge. Five people can't stay in a standard room at the Wilderness Lodge.

How are they able to book that? What would happen if I book it and then I get there and they tell me I can't stay in the room?

I know I'm probably freaking out over nothing, but I just want to be positive before I jump in the deep end of the pool.

I am not familiar with the WL rooms, but is one of your 5 under the age of 3? If that really is over the occupancy limit, I don't think I'd book it. Perhaps you could ask them about it before booking.

I just emailed my Dreams agent to ask about his late October discount since it falls under our exact dates.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I would not book it. Occupancy is definately 4 at WL. Maybe call or email them and ask them what they have for 5 people.

Nope....Quinn turned three on our last trip. He will be five in late October/early November when we go. That's why I'm so confused. I told the guy the kids' ages and everything.

And this is the reason I'll book everything myself and wait (or pray) for discounts from Disney. As far as I'm concerned, this just goes to prove my point that TAs can't be trusted and don't really do what is in the client's best interest. NOT ALL TAs.....just the ones that I've had experience with. I just prefer to be in control of my ressies myself and I'll just deal with whatever discounts Disney does or does not release.

If worst comes to worst: we stay off-site if free dining isn't offered and we still have a great vacation.

Hmm, I got the quote back and it's for Wilderness Lodge, not the Beach Club. So the late October deal must be for other resorts as well. The surprise was that for 2 rooms at the Wilderness it was only 200.00 more than we spend at the Values. BUT, the values 4800.00 for 2 rooms includes dining too.....so that makes the difference a bit more. Still not as shocking as I'd thought.

Well, it would not be in the TA's best interest at all to purposefully deceive a client, so it could be that this was an unintentional mistake by the TA. Did you write back and ask them how WL was possible when you have 5 in your party?

Yes, I did and what he wrote back didn't give me the warm and fuzzies either. lol He said that he saw three kids and thought that the youngest was three. However, on the quote it had my three kids and their ages at the time of travel. So......no, not happy with the TA. Definitely won't be using him/them in this instance and just reinforced my choice to plan and book myself.

So, are there ANY deals offered right now for early October? Figure we should get something held and then consider upgrading/changing if a better deal comes along.

Nothing out now, but if you are a AAA member, you might be able to get a small room discount.

To get the AAA discount, do you have to book through AAA? I don't want to have to go through a TA, would rather do it myself.

You can do room only and get a AAA discount through Disney but if you want a package you have to book that through AAA.

Just made our reservations for pop. Hoping for FD so we can change to AoA Cars! The countdown begins!!

I am planning our first family vacation to Disney World for this October - dates aren't set and I am waiting to see about discounts and school schedules. It is a little intimidating the amount of info there is to read! I will definitely be watching this thread/site for good info/discounts!

Don't be intimidated. :) Just ask any questions you need answers to....that's why we're all here (oh, that and to drool over our vacations!). Planning is half the battle....at least you are aware you need to plan. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who just show up at WDW with no plan and then get upset when they don't have "the most magical time".
