Best Place to Eat Christmas Dinner?

My husband and I are surprising our children with annual passes for Christmas this year. We will leave for Disney World on Christmas morning after they open presents. Where is the best place for us to eat Christmas dinner? We will be staying at the Comtemporary, but would be willing to eat anywhere on the WDW resort. I am trying to plan early, so that I can make reservations 180 days out. Thanks for your help.

I don't have a recommendation, but a tip, to verify that the restaurant you choose doesn't have a special menu that night. Learned that one the hard way back in 2001 on our honeymoon when we showed up and all the dishes we were looking forward to were not available.

Thank you for the tip and suggestion. I did not think about special meals on Christmas.

We were thinking Chef Mickey's also. It is our children's favorite restaurant.

I have heard many recommend Liberty Tree Tavern for Christmas and Thanksgiving meals.

If Chef Mickey's is your kids' favorite, I can't think of a better way to spend Christmas Day...opening presents at home and then having dinner at Chef Mickey's! That is a kid's dream day. It is especially great since you're staying at the Contemporary.

We thought about Liberty Tree Tavern or Be Our Guest restaurant first, but thought that it would be difficult to get into the Magic Kingdom on Christmas evening. Has anyone ever arrived at MK on Christmas evening for dinner? Can you get into the park?

We have been to wdw last 6 years during Xmas week. When we are there for Xmas day we never go to a park..too crazy!!! We have gone to Ohana last 2years and enjoyed it a lot. Food was great and service also. We even got anniversary cupcakesto take home..nice surprise. Lot of kids stuff but also nice just for couples. We have also eaten at Artist Point and California Grill also great food and atmosphere. We usually get up late on Xmas go to 1900 PF around 10:30 for late brunch go to movie and shop at DTD. Then to aresort for dinner. Doing the same this coming Xmas...have fun planning.

We took the boat from CR over to Whispering Canyon on Christmas Day a couple times. The atmosphere in WL crushes all resorts at XMAS IMO. It is a XMAS dinner though, excellent but kinda spendy.

The Rusty Scupper- thanks for the list of Restaurants with Christmas meals. Is there anywhere that I can get a menu for these restaurants?

How is the ferry ride from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge? Are the waits long on Christmas?

The boat ride is only a few minutes-I think going to WL it stops at W Campground first, and is direct back from WL to CR.

Figure 15 over and 5 back-other than waiting for the boat.

2009 Family-Style with Holiday items - All you care to eat:
Whispering Canyon Cafe $36-$59.99 per person

Mashed, gravy, turkey, (couple meats-ham, chicken, beef etc) dressing, corn, dessert etc.

Would the wait be alot longer on Christmas Day. I wonder how the crowds would be from the WL to CR, since we are avoiding the parks?

Not that we noticed. Seemed like a typical day, maybe the boat was pretty full but would be the same number of boats on time etc.

But heck go a little early and check in-you may get right in, and if not touring around the lodge at XMAS is a must anyway.

Thanks! We will definitely consider it now. I guess as long as we avoid the parks, we should be okay.

Has anyone ever eaten at DTD on Christmas Day. I wonder about the crowds.
