Golly you all were a chatty bunch yesterday :rotfl: Still half asleep here so I need to go make my coffee. Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and stay warm. :)

Dani: I can totally understand what you are feeling, and I am sending you lots of hugs :grouphug: I am so sorry your family is going through this.

Minnie & Sjs314: big hugs to you both too.:grouphug:

Good morning to Melissa, Candace, Pas, Janet, Wookie, Lacey, Padawans, Marie, Miss, and Iheart. Sorry to anyone I missed. Have to get DD8 ready to head off to girl guide camp for the weekend tonight, all the kiddos ok to go to school today. DH is on meds now too, and boy his snoring at night is driving me to the looney bin.:crazy2: Need lots of this today.:coffee:

Have a good day everyone
Jen

Good morning RC family :goodvibes

padawans - so glad guest services made the situation right! You knew you were right, but it is always nice to hear it AND to be compensated :thumbsup2

Wookie - glad the pharmacy got you all your meds. Nope no Fudgie the whale, because the little ones are gluten free, they cant have crunchies, so we did a small fudge cake and got the kids ice cream cups with sprinkles....everyone was still happy :) Enjoy your lunch today, sounds yummy!!!!

Dani  I totally understand where you are coming from. I was in an abusive relationship for most of high school :faint: I always knew if I stayed with him one of us would end up dead. I am so sorry your cousin was not able to get out, it is just heart breaking. Hold your kiddos close and know that you are a stronger woman for all you have been through ::yes::

Shelia - What is it with these abusive men :confused3 I guess in the long run, it makes us all stronger women :grouphug: Hope you got that first cup of coffee in.

Jen - I hope you get DD's stuff ready and still find a little bit of time to enjoy your :coffee: and can maybe get a bit of rest (I know you need it after the snoring :p)

Hope everyone has a great day!
Melissa

Good morning!! :flower3:

My DH snores so badly on a nightly basis, that if we didn't have a fan on in our room, I wouldn't be able to sleep.

Good Morning!! :flower3:
Well, only half my meds, but half is better than none.
Sounds like a yummy night!! The DH is going to be at home most of the day learning how to work in the office. Hopefully, he doesn't tell me I can't get it. If he does, we'll get it this weekend.

I'm off to get JM on the bus and then take a nap before getting school work done.

TGIF Peeps! :cool1::flower3:

Padamans, LOVE the balls comment.:rotfl2: You had me in tears yesterday! Happy GS admitted their mistakes and you benefited with by it, (and helped others in the process).:goodvibes

Miss, you captured the balls story perfectly with your doggie pix!! And how cool that Miss M was born in Scotland! My DD and I love Brave too and we love the scenary, the characters so much!

Iheart: Congrats on your DSs placing 1 and 2nd in the Visual Arts competition!! :cheer2: Way to go!! :woohoo: Good luck to them at the state level! :artist:

Jen, hope DH and the girls are feeling better... it's been a draining week for you all

Marie, hopefully you can work the numbers enough to get that DL trip with DS and his friend.:cool1: Life is short, do what it takes to make it a go!

Lacey, Hi! Im like you, really change after I ponder all my possibilities and roll the numbers! Hope DL can work out for you, seems right since you will be celebrating your bday. :flower3:

MM, no more changing, huh? Well I don't believe you evoked the pinky swear now did you? :rotfl2:

Christine, congrats on booking a cruise!! you all are going to have a great time!

Wookie, happy you have some meds, and hope it helps with the nosebleeds.

Melissa, hope DH is feeling better today. A very Happy birthday to your DS!! :cool1: Times flies doesn't it?? My DS is 21! Sounds like it was a great bday for him. :goodvibes

Ginny, still a bit chilly where you are? :teeth: hmm.. maybe you should be planning a WDW soon, yeah, that's the ticket!

Pas, enjoy the day with the boys! Got some special things planned??
And a very happy birthday to Brandon!!! :cool1::cheer2:

GG, well your "short" trip is winding down soon... Enjoy the weekend!! :)

Christine & Sheila, to you both...

Dani, Sheila and Melissa, grateful you were able to break free from your abusive relationships. As you say Melissa, it probably does make you stronger....

Hi to all I've missed!! :flower3:

well since it's been a birthday banner week, just thought I would make this a bit more noticeable....

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO....

BRANDON!! :cool1:

Wookies DS!! :cool2:
And

Melissa's DS!!
:cool1:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all FROM ME TOO!!!:cheer2:party::bday:

Sorry for not noticing this sooner....too wrapped up in myself lately.

Jen,:grouphug:

Yes to the Cruise! It is definitely the last thing I ever expected to ever consider doing - given my horrible fear of heights and water! AND I do not swim - almost drowned at River Country back in the 80's; it was not a pretty site, but a very funny story the kids told over and over....and over!

When Dis friends said they really wanted me to go and it isn't until Feb 2014, I decided it was time to step waaay out of my comfort zone and have a new adventure. Fingers crossed the MS will not mean I am more sensitive to motion, but think it will be okay. It is a quiet time for a cruise weather wise and I have read that any light motion on the Dream feels more like a train and I love long distance train rides.

That's the latest in my world...oh, except that next week Sophia (& mom and dad) will spend 2 ngts in a LM room and a day a the MK, including CRT breakfast! Very exciting! I will be here with Rosie our furbaby...I told DD that I had better see LOTS of text pics!!!

You are going to LOVE the cruise Christine!!! Danimal was so opposed to going last year, but this year he can't wait to go. Isn't that funny?

That sounds like a plan!

I think my kids would love that area, it's like hanging at the beach, which they love! :goodvibes

I think if Daniel ends up loving the beach on the cruise we will end up at BC next year :rotfl: He will not go to the beach here. He refuses.

Marie As far as booking Dl most Dl customers only book a month or two in advance. I could book a room tomorrow at any hotel and room type with Ap discount. This is a pretty slow time of year. Do you need Club level from what I've read it's not that great at Dl. CL is over 200.00 a night more. I'm not sure you will get that much value out of it. The hotels all have great breakfast buffets, and the parks won't open until 9-10 am. Just a my opinion of course. Paradise pier is a nice hotel too. We stayed in a suite there and it was really nice and roomy. The pool is on the roof which is pretty cool. You really can't beat the location of the Grand California. You are literally in the park and a theme park view is pretty sweet.

We went to Universal Hollywood last year. We stayed at the Hilton onsite. It's walking distance the parks and city walk. It has a breathtaking view. You can see Warner bros, and some other studios from your room. I think it's under 200.00 a night. If you haven't been it's great. Very different than Orlando. It's more about making movies than it is about the rides.

Knotts Berry Farm was my favorite as a kid. It's been 5 years since I was there, but we stayed at the Knotts Berry Farm Hotel. Not a deluxe by any means, but it was clean and walking distance to the park.

Embassy suites is my favorite hotel chain. I've stayed at many of them in Orange county. I stayed at one in Los Angeles last month. I have always had a good experience with them.

I haven't been to six flags in years so I have no comment on that.

Miss That picture was great. I think my kids will recover. Since I am the only female in the house I kind of enjoy seeing them cringe everytime I mention it.

I got the call from guest services today. Yes I was right(I knew that). Yes they made a mistake, and they need education(I knew that). Yes they realize there is a lack of consistency with cm's. The issue has been addressed with the higher ups, so yes you can make changes to a existing reservation. They were all apparently taken by surprise that the discount was discontinued. They did resolve the issue by offering me a very sweet deal in September so all is good. I hope my bad temper helped other people booked with the discount. The discounts came out July of 2012 so I am sure I am not the only one with a booking this year.

I'm glad they acknowledged their mistake and made it right! You would think they would be tired of having to fix messes and address the problem with the CMs. :rolleyes2

I am so sorry your family is having to go through this. Your right, no parent should ever have to bury their child. My DH has an aunt that her first husband, who was very abusive, that she had three boys with. She had to bury one son, before I met my DH, and then a 2nd while I was pregnant with our oldest DS. She's lost the third one to a wife, that hates my DH's aunt with a passion. I just don't understand it because the aunt is the single sweetest person I have ever met, like Disney princess sweet. I've met the wife, and she makes the Disney villians seem nice.

You know, my other cousin is like this right now. He is keeping his kids from his father because his wife convinced him that his dad owes him the world. He thinks that his dad should be leaving him his house, when in reality he doesn't deserve a darn thing from him. It's very sad when kids let their spouse rule their lives.

Oh, {{{Dani}}} I am so sorry your family must go through such a sad and difficult time. As a parent who has a lost a child, I know the pain your uncle is feeling - for the parent it doesn't actually matter so much how our child passed, but that they are no longer with us. That's not to mean your uncle is not devastated by the abuse she suffered, but what he is suffering most right now, is that he will never see his child again.

Even though you did not see your cousin often or have a close relationship, she is a member of your family - it is a terrible shock for you.

Gentle hugs to you, sweet friend. I am here 24/7 if it would help to talk....anytime, Dani.

 Much love to you my dear friend. I will be texting you today!

Glad Disney resolved your problem!!! Now, it sounds like you have the green light for change!!!! GO!!!

Big hugs to both of you!

Dani my heart goes out to you and your family, especially your your Uncle. loseing a child is the worst nightmare any parent can expierence. I am glad you were able to break free from your own abusive relationship, my eldest boys father was abusive too having him arrested and breaking off with him for the sake of my son was one of the best moves I ever made. I know you had an emotional breakdown since you are so right , that it could have been you. Take care my dear friend and know I am here if you ever need to talk.

I know you understand the pain, Sheila. I think of you and Christine every day. You are both incredibly strong. I am sorry you had such a terrible experience. Abusive relationships are a never ending nightmare. I'm so happy you were able to get out of it.

Dani: I can totally understand what you are feeling, and I am sending you lots of hugs :grouphug: I am so sorry your family is going through this.

Minnie & Sjs314: big hugs to you both too.:grouphug:

SO happy you were able to end it. We are a lucky bunch. My heart breaks for those who aren't as lucky.

Good morning!! :flower3:

My DH snores so badly on a nightly basis, that if we didn't have a fan on in our room, I wouldn't be able to sleep.

Good Morning!! :flower3:

I'm off to get JM on the bus and then take a nap before getting school work done.

I almost had to suffocate my aunt with a pillow in August because of her snoring! I am a VERY light sleeper. The slightest noise will prevent me from sleeping. My aunt would start snoring when she was still awake! :furious: This is how I felt every night going to bed lol

Good afternoon, ladies. :)

Jen: How are you guys doing? :grouphug:

I_Heart: That is so wonderful about the kiddo's art contest! :worship: When does the State portion of the competition start? All fingers crossed for 'em. :goodvibes

Melissa: How's the hubs doing today, better I hope? Happy belated to your oldest!

Miss That picture was great. I think my kids will recover. Since I am the only female in the house I kind of enjoy seeing them cringe everytime I mention it.

Let me just say, I adore this -- wholeheartedly ADORE! :rotfl:

Wookie: Still getting that chicken parm for lunch? How'd I miss ANOTHER birthday?! Happy birthday to your son! :goodvibes

Dani: Sending my best thoughts your way. Sorry your family is going through such a rough time. :grouphug: Don't ever apologize for "being a downer" -- it's our job to listen through good and bad. ::yes::

We have such a group of amazingly strong and inspiring women. I'm lucky to be in such good company.

... for the parent it doesn't actually matter so much how our child passed, but that they are no longer with us. ...

:grouphug:

... loseing a child is the worst nightmare any parent can expierence. ...

Golly you all were a chatty bunch yesterday :rotfl: Still half asleep here so I need to go make my coffee. Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and stay warm. :)

Did you get to enjoy that cuppa? I think I might need another. :scratchin

Janet: What's yours and Sam's favorite Disney film? I'm really thinking it just might be Brave after seeing it again. :thumbsup2 (The scenery really is so spot on.)

 to our lovely Jeanette and Candace and Ginny and Kook and Marie and Lacey and DznyCrzy11 and last but certainly not least, our Linda (just where is that lady, anyhow?... we need to equip her with a tracking device.) And to anyone I miss, I blame it on needing another cup of coffee desperately. :coffee:

And a warm welcome to Alison! :cheer2:

I'm so happy to be home with my kids today. Since the NYC school bus strike, Daniel has been home most days. His school is so far away. He's been home all week. He is going Monday, though. I need a break from him. :rotfl:

Lily is totally my kid. She would spend the entire day on my lap reading trip reports and looking at photos of Disney. She loves to look at cruise photos. We spent most of this morning doing it!

Wookie, happy you have some meds, and hope it helps with the nosebleeds.
Hi to all I've missed!! :flower3:

Thank you, I hope so as well. Luckily the site of blood doesn't bother me, they are just more annoying than anything else.

well since it's been a birthday banner week, just thought I would make this a bit more noticeable....

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO....

BRANDON!! :cool1:

Wookies DS!! :cool2:
And

Melissa's DS!!
:cool1:

Thank you

You know, my other cousin is like this right now. He is keeping his kids from his father because his wife convinced him that his dad owes him the world. He thinks that his dad should be leaving him his house, when in reality he doesn't deserve a darn thing from him. It's very sad when kids let their spouse rule their lives.

It really is sad. Especially for this aunt, who only has the one son left. I don't know, maybe the son's wife blames her for not getting out of the marriage earlier than she did and her hubby having to go through what he did with the aunt's ex.

I almost had to suffocate my aunt with a pillow in August because of her snoring! I am a VERY light sleeper. The slightest noise will prevent me from sleeping. My aunt would start snoring when she was still awake! :furious: This is how I felt every night going to bed lol

I've had the same feelings before about my DH and fil (when we've gone on vacations with the in laws where we have shared a room). I've had times with my DH where he snored so bad that even with our big loud fan in our room, he has kept me up. Then when I would get up to head to a class, he would stop snoring.

Good afternoon, ladies. :)

Wookie: Still getting that chicken parm for lunch? How'd I miss ANOTHER birthday?! Happy birthday to your son! :goodvibes

Thank you, but you didn't miss it. His birthday was on the 8th.

We have such a group of amazingly strong and inspiring women. I'm lucky to be in such good company.

I agree :thumbsup2 :grouphug: This thread is the main reason I can't stay away from the DIS.

I have some news ladies!! Gues who's might be going to WDW in March??

Yep that's right................the DH, fil, and maybe the mil............but not me or my DSs.:furious::furious::furious:
They are having an appliance convention at the CSR and the fil has decided that he really wants them to go. I am so mad, I could slap all three of them. They've been trying to keep it a secret, but the fil (who's having big memory issues) said something about a vendor giving them a discount for the FL training. I guess he thinks I'm too stupid to remember that it was being held at WDW.

Okay, I am catching up!!!! DH is up in bed not feeling well  he actually went to the Urgent Care for a flu swab, which was negative thankfully! So I am taking the evening to watch tv and catch up with my RC family :goodvibes

First of all, I have not welcomed Alison! We are a crazy bunch of enablers here and I will start right now enabling you....we stayed at CR in December and it was hands down my kiddos favorite resort. We had recently stayed at YC and WL, and to them CR was AMAZING! DH and I liked the feel of YC better and I loved being in the Epcot resort area, but we let the kiddos pick our Feb resort and without a second thought they both agreed on CR.

Lacey - Oh so DL is an option now for spring break, I did not know that. Hmmmm, I cant imagine it would be any less crowded, but I honestly have no idea.
Hope dh is feels better!

So are CR rooms refurbed? Do they have the down comforters wrapped in sheets?

I got the call from guest services today. Yes I was right(I knew that). Yes they made a mistake, and they need education(I knew that). Yes they realize there is a lack of consistency with cm's. :cool1: Sweet vindication!!!!!
Tonight I got some more details on my cousin and it just made me break down at my desk in tears. I don't like to cry, especially in public. But my coworkers were so sweet and comforting. I'm lucky to be in such a great office. I am so saddened by my cousin's death. It isn't that we were particularly close. In fact I think we met maybe three times in total. It's just the nature of how it happened. This is something I don't often talk about, but I was in an abusive relationship with Danimal's "father" and I just keep thinking that it so easily could have been me. I also think how horrible it is for my uncle to be dealing with this. No parent should have to bury their child. As a parent it is my greatest fear. I've been hugging my babies extra close this week. Sorry to be such a downer this week. Thanks for puttin up with me. :grouphug:
Hugs Dani!

Hugs for Christine and Sheila too! And those of you that mentioned you were in abusive relationships! :grouphug: So glad you made it out ok!

Wookie: Still getting that chicken parm for lunch?

I forgot to answer this earlier.....
No I didn't. :( The DH had to run a service call this morning before being trained on how the office works. As he was coming home, he stopped by Sonic and brought me a bacon cheeseburger /w fries and a Dr. Pepper. I was actually eating it, when the fil talked about the FL training. The DH got uncomfortable (which let me know they were hiding it from me) and kept saying 'I love you'. I finally just looked at him and said, "you remember that movie we saw where a person was killed with an ear of corn?" Then I pulled a fry out of the fry box, held it up, and said, "this is your ear of corn."

PADAWANS: thank you for the great DL advice! I guess if it will save me $200 a night, I could forgo club level! I really want to stay at DLH for the cool slide/ pool and great views/ fun atmosphere. I am sure we could find a breakfast cheaper than $200 for the 3 of us, and I could order some pop for the room -- I'm sure we won't be in the room too much anyway! If I stay off site, it's between double tree suites (rated no. 3 on trip advisors) and embassy suite/ or even a paradise pier suite if it was affordable! I am thinking of flying into John Wayne airport on a Sunday, staying off site that first night, check in on Monday Feb 3, 2014 do DLH for 3 nights of Disney, then move to Embassy suites or double tree on Thursday, do universal that day, then Friday do knotts berry farm and depart on Saturday from JW (SNA)
Maybe if I just do a standard Disney land hotel room without club it might make it doable

Dani I'm very excited for you. You will love DCL. I'm planning that exact trip for Oct 2014. 7 day cruise plus the F&W. I hope you make a trip report. Just waiting for Dcl to release the second half of 2014.

Marie Your plans sound great. I might be doing something very similar to that in Sept if we can't afford Orlando. It's cheaper for us to go to Southern California. I feel like I can put together a really nice vacation in 5 or 6 days. I need 10 days minimum in Florida. You know how it is long flight and time change.
The breakfast buffets will run you around 20.00 per person, but it's a much better breakfast than Cl. You will spend a lot of time in the parks. Everything is so close, and it's so easy to go back and forth from hotel to parks.

I heart Congrats to you kids.

MM I have to go through guest services to make any changes so I think I'll just leave it alone. The only thing I may do is drop a couple of nights at Wl and book something else. I really like my multi resort stays.

She basically let me book a BB for Sept. I think I could have done that it May, but you never know. She did say the BB will run to June, based on past experience I didn't want to take the chance. I may have some trust issues.:headache:

Hello to everyone else.

Thanks to all my RC friends for all the support. You guys are like the best bra ever. :lmao:

wookie I am SO sorry that they are going without you. I can't believe they've been hiding it from you! :(

padawans I will DEFINITELY be posting a TR of this trip! I can't wait. I think Lily is the most excited though. :rotfl:

:lmao: OMG that was too funny!!

wookie I am SO sorry that they are going without you. I can't believe they've been hiding it from you! :(

I'm hoping they are just "talking" about it. I know they are hiding it because they know I'll be mad about it and I've already told them and the DH he can't go to any conferences at WDW if I can't go. The DH came into our room and asked me why I was mad at him while I was doing school work. When I told him, he said, "well it's not like we're going to Disney World." I said, "I'm going to let you get away with saying something stupid like that, and me not throw the closest thing I can get into my hand just this once. The conference is at Coronado Springs, which is on Disney World property. Technically you are going to Disney World." I swear he was acting like someone who knew nothing about Disney World and thought the Magic Kingdom was all there is to Disney World.

I'm sure I missed something, but why can't you go? Does it interfere with school?

Oh no!

I have to say that I have gone to Orlando on business twice in the past few years. I didn't take my family either time because truly, I didn't stay long enough to make any time of vacation out of it.
