Fantasy Deck 2 - Opinions Please

We aren't cruising until summer 2014, but we are a family of 5 and currently booked in connecting 9B staterooms on the Fantasy (2520 & 2522). Our three DDs will be 12, 9 and 7 when we cruise so we thought the extra space and bathrooms would be a priority. Considering how much they swam and begged to swim on our Alaska cruise, I imagine we'll be spending most of our days around the pool and not in our rooms.

I have searched and searched the boards but can't find too many recent comments regarding deck 2 on the Fantasy. I would love to hear from others who have stayed on this deck or either of these specific rooms.

TIA!

Deck 2 on Dream and Fantasy are wonderful. Very convenient to many things. We stayed in Cabin 2004 on the Dream and our extended family had 5 cabins on Deck 2 on the Fantasy and booked 5 more on the Fantasy for our next cruise. I do not think you will have worries at all.

I can't remember our room numbers now, but last summer we were on deck 2 forward on Fantasy, connecting rooms. Loved it! The windows had padding in them, and my daughter spent most of her in-room time in the windows reading. We could look out and the waves splashing were awesome to see up closer. The floor was really quiet. We were just around the corner from the elevators. I'd loved to stay in those rooms again!

Thank you both for your comments!

Can anyone comment on the laundry room on deck 2? While I hate to do any sort of laundry on vacation, it will probably be inevitable this time around since we are also planning a week at WDW along with the cruise.

The one on Deck 2 is called a Lauderette as it has less machines than some of the other laundry rooms onboard. I have pics but my online photo hosting company has changed hands and I have not uploaded to a new site yet.

It is right across from cabin 2004 (forward). There are at least 3 washers and dryers, and a steamer and an iron and pull down ironing board.

We stayed in the Cat 9's on Deck 2 on the Dream in August, and we LOVED them. The hallways were quiet, and we were super close to the main restaurants. I imagine the Fantasy would be the same.

We didn't do laundry however.

We stayed on deck 2 on Fantasy in August and loved it! Booked the same cabin for our 2014 sailing too!

So convenient to restaurants, stairs, elevators, etc...

Happy sailing, Tiger :)

Expensive! I did one load - $2 to wash, $2 to dry, and $1 for detergent (I skipped on the softener for another $1. Easy to use though, and you pay with your KTTW card.

Loved it. We were deck 2 midship. Great location. Convenient to everything, and the way things are set up, it was very quiet.

Laundry is on deck 2 forward--no one using it when I saw it.

I just did room 2038 (also a 9B) on the Fantasy in December, and totally loved it! As others have said, it's really conveniently located (each morning, I could pretty much just roll out of bed & down the hall to Enchanted Garden for breakfast. It couldn't have been easier. And it's convenient to where you disembark in port, and to the main atrium, and to the Royale Garden, etc. Very quiet, too. I'd definitely sail there again.

We loved deck 2 onour Dream cruise last spring. We had 2 connecting Oceanview rooms. It was very cool looking out the windows as the water was so close.

Enjoy your cruise!

I am assuming you haven't made your accommodations yet for WDW since your cruise is in 2014. You may want to consider renting a 1 or 2bedroom villa from a dvc member. They have laundry accommodations in the unit, and it will definitely be easier to do laundry...you won't have to wait around for it like you will on the cruise...and all it will cost is the detergents.

That is definitely something we are considering and I agree that it would be so much more convenient.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

Just off the dream Thursday 1/24 stayed on deck 2 midship. 2540 loved the room and great location. I did laundry on last day at sea and it was a bit crowded. Only 2 washers and 3 or 4 dryers. Cost about $5 a load with wash dry and buying detergent.
