Getting Skisney for Disney May 2013 PTR 4/11: Day 1 Plan

Hello everyone! I'm a bit of a late joiner but I'm hoping to shed some more weight before we go January 2014! Me and my mom are going to do the half marathon! I started my weight loss journey June 1, 2012 and I have since lost 92 lbs!! I still have a long way to go, especially to do the marathon, but I am hard at work on it!!

I did kickoboxing at 5pm last night. And exactly 12 hours later I was back at the Y doing Zumba this morning. GO ME! :cheer2:

:worship: You should be very proud. Exercise is my biggest struggle especially in the winter but I am hoping to get started on a program soon.

:welcome: 92lbs in an amazing accomplishment and sounds like you are well on your way to your goal.

Oops, we're going July 19-27! I'm so excited, but I've got to get back in shape. I was overweight and out of shape when we went to Universal in 2008 and it was NOT a comfortable experience. Luckily, I have enough time, if I put some effort into it.
And thanks for the information. I saw the post with all the "T-" records. I'll have to get my baseline tonight and go from there.
Thanks again!!
I'll get it posted on the roll call!!
So - for an update. I have been SOOOOO good this week. Stayed within my calories and ate really well - except I flaked and had a donught yesterday, but I also did an hour of kickboxing, which according to My Fitness Pal about equals out :rotfl2: (Note to self - donut not worth it.)

I'm super excited because the Y is having a Parents' Night Out tomorrow and it's $10 for both kids to go from 6-9pm and hang out in the game/activity room (they love this, there's a biking simulation game, a Wii with Just Dance, and then a light-up floor dance game, and a foosball table, etc.) and they get to swim, and my DH and I get to go out for dinner. Together. ALONE!

We have a Japanese Steakhouse in town but we have never been together. I went maybe 5 years ago with my first husband just before we divorced, and he went 5-6 years ago on (what he says was) a terrible date for his birthday. I'm so excited! :yay::yay::yay:
:thumbsup2 You are kicking this thing in the tail!! I can't wait to see what your t-minus is this week!!

W.O.W. Way to go and a big :welcome: What an amazing goal...a marathon!!

Whew!!! Bieber-fever and girls road trip all done. My official "T" is 0. I have 9 weeks until my cruise, and about 6 weeks until the end of the gym fitness challenge. I have not abandoned my goal to lose 15 by the cruise. My weight fluctuates like the waves in the ocean! I also need to keep up with my cardio and protein. Working with my trainer is not nearly enough, but it keeps me on track and motivated the rest of the time!
Up next- a trip to Islamorada for a weeding. Hoping the weather is warm enough to be "nice"... But NOT HOT ENOUGH FOR A SWIMSUIT ! Lol!!!

Fantastic!!!!!! That is SO inspiring!!!!!!

When you are posting your t-minuses after you weigh-in, please leave a one line reply and put it in a red font to make it easy for me to find. Red for a loss!!!

Well, to keep it a PTR, I thought I'd do a little intro for my little crew going in May. We'll be there for the first SWW but my folks are only moderately enthusiastic about SW (Is that sacrilege? Will I get kicked off the Dis for saying that?). Here we are at Christmas:

There's me. I'm in my early 30s. I have a degree in Economics but don't ask me about the stock market because I don't know:sad2: I'm currently at SAHM and I pretty much love it. I find this picture to be a little flattering of me...but I'm not raring to share pictures of me in all my fluffy glory.

DH is in his mid-30s:lmao: which I like to give him grief about. No matter how old I get, he's always older. Heehee. He is a restaurant manager like I said before and that means we get free food. We've been together for more than 14 years, married for almost 13. He is very laidback and accomodating. He loves roller coasters (RnRC is his favorite) and pretty much lets me have my way in everything. I like him.

Then there's DD9. She will be 10 at the end of the spring which is why we gotta get to Disney ASAP. We priced our vacay for October and it's almost a $1000 more. She loves trying new things and her favorite ride of all time is also RnR. She is very sweet, smart and loving and is an elite dancer...She's won several dance competitions. She also was born with some teenager in her which we have not been yet able to rid her of. She has asked to eat at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast so she can meet Mary Poppins and Alice. She's done the dinner 2x.

Next is DS8, current Saints fan extraordinaire. He's one of those kids who has a new obsession every couple of months. He's also one of those that is good at everything he does. Very smart and good at sports (especially soccer), but going through a egocentric stage and kind of a weinie. He's refusing to ride RnR or ToT this time. Yes, he's taller than his older sister. He has requested to eat at Ohana and his favorite ride is Test Track.

Finally, there's DS3. He will be 4 for our trip and he is SUPERpumped about WDW. "When I get fo' ah we goin' at Dinsey World?" We've heard this since he turned 3 (the one year of his life we didn't go to Disney). He is so excited that he will be able to ride most of the rides. He is pretty chill for a kid his age as long as he knows what to expect. If he's expecting one thing and gets another without any warning, well...it throws him for a loop. He wants to eat with Mickey and is most excited about riding Dumbo.

So there we are. We may have a few more folks join us for our trip, but more about that later.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to join some people who are doing it too!! I will of course keep you updated! I can't wait to hit the 100 mark!! pixiedust: Has anyone tried the TapouT XT work out videos? I saw it today on Dr Oz and it looks great! I am thinking of getting it!

Matkensgirl, what a beautiful family you have! Your daughter looks just like you!!! How did you manage to get a good photo of five people, and a little guy in the mix as well??? I can't seem to get a good photo of my family with two teens. :scratchin That's gotta be some kind of mommy fail on my part.

Yesterday was really tough. I had a very long work day that did not finish until 7pm. Then I had to run to the grocery because... well we live in the south and there was a threat of bad weather so that mean we have to run to the store and stock up(incase we get trapped in our house for three weeks:rotfl2:)

It would have been so much easier for me to swing by the local mexican restaurant which is in the same strip as the grocery and bring some home. It was almost 8pm by the time I got out of the grocery and I was starving. The only thing that stopped me was my desperate need to post a T- today. Thanks to the DIS for giving me the strength to pass up my biggest weakness - mexican food!

I saw this too! We have insanity which is similar I think, but all the jumping really was hard on my joints, I think tapout might be the same way, but the people look like they are getting fabulous results which is enticing.

T-2.4 total loss 15 since December 30th, 20112

Another good week, managed to keep eating healthy and hit all 3 classes and added a couple of hours at the walking track. We are 98 days to our trip - how low can I go?????

To start off, I weighed in today and I'm at T-1.8, which means I'm up .6 from last week:headache: I'd like to blame it on my desperate, hormone-induced need for Mexican and brownies the past two days. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as it could be since I did pretty well the rest of the weeks and got in a few Just Dance marathons (beat my mom at Thriller AND Billie Jean, thank you). I was actually sore in my back from that!!

Hey, when you guys are reporting your T-minuses are you making sure that your number is your total weight loss from your baseline (T)? Just checking.

There is something that is big here that everyone is trying..Crossfit, I think? I wonder if they're similar. It is going to be SUCH a big deal to hit that 100 mark. Way to go!!!!

Ha!! Thank you. There were at least four cameras going at one time so we had the odds on our side that at least ONE would turn out ok. That one's pretty blurry.

T -2. Yay!
Good job!!
Matkensgirl - Beautiful family!! Can't wait for more PTR updates!
Thank you very much!!

Which is the point of the whole thread!! How easy it would've been to console yourself with brownies or Mexican (see above) but you were STRONG!!

Good job!! Wow, in less than a month you lost 15 lbs. Now that encourages me!! How low can you go, how low can you go... 14 weeks to go!!

I'm a little late but I'd like to join in too.
DH and I are going back to the world May 11th - 20th and using a recently purchased DVC for the first time. We are staying the first 5 nights at AKL- jambo and the last 4 at BLT, we are going back for flower and garden and we will be there for my fist SWW.
I'd really like to get down to my goal weight and lose about 30 pounds before then. So I can finally feel I look good in pictures since we always do photopass as I only get one week a year (vacation week) that DH doesn't fight me on getting his picture taken. I was always really active and could eat what I wanted so I never kept good eating habits. Then when I graduated and got my office job as well as got into a relationship with my now DH (less partying more staying in) in my mid 20's I put on the weight. I did really good and lost almost 40 pounds 2 summers ago due to home renovations. But since then have been stuck trying to lose the last 30.
To accomplish my goal I'm trying to keep better eating habits, more fruit, veggies and water less junk. For exercise I plan on walking with my sister in law a few days a week (once we get out of the teens.. BRRRR!), walk with my 8 month puppy, wii fit and xbox Kinect.

Just ordered my TapouT XT workout system!! Should be here in 5-7 days!! Wish me luck!!

92 lbs down 128 to go!
