We check in today and I called to see if our room had been assigned and all she would tell me is we are 1st floor in Aruba. I requested a lake view, so Im really hoping that works out as well. Soo, how is Aruba? Any pros/cons? =)

Since water view is a bookable category, and more $$, odds are against you getting that request. But you never know. Here's hoping for some pixie dust.

Aruba is a great location. When you check-in I would request building 51. It is a very short walk over the bridge to OPR and the main pool. Like under 5 minutes. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I know, I hate paying for water view and then sweating it out, that we might geta quiet pool view instead. I wish they would just make lake view its on category, so I didnt have to stress. Last time, our "Water view" was a view of a quiet pool that we couldnt even see, because the bushes were so overgrown. We complained and were moved to a beautiful room, but Im hoping avoid the complaint part this time. LOL

In my opinion, paying for a water view at a moderate is a waste of $$. Because there's no balcony, the only way to enjoy the view from your room is to have the blinds open. We don't like the blinds open all the time because people walking by can see our business. So we will step outside the room to enjoy the view and once outside the room it's no big deal to walk 10-15 steps to gaze at the lake. :cool1:

I usually ask for Aruba 51 at CBR and a lot of times I do end up getting a water view, even without asking for it. We had a room on floor 1 with a great view of the water and the bridge. Loved it.

I always pay, because I really prefer not to look at the parking lot =) First floor at CB is awesome though...you walk out and you are on the beach. Love it!!

I agree with you 101%. At a moderate I will pay extra for a preferred room, but given the complete lack of privacy if you leave your blinds open, I see no point in paying for (or requesting) a view room if you can only see it when you are entering or leaving the room. But to each their own.

We are those crazy people that leave our blinds open, unless we are sleeping. I also love opening the blinds and watching the sun rise over the lake in the morning. Its such a beautiful start to the day. We dont go to the custom house while we are here, so we dont mind being too far away from there. We ended in Aruba 55. No complaints, we have a corner room on the 2nd floor, looking at the lake. I just love the extra window in the corner rooms ;) It is super quiet here so far....great day at Epcot today and headed to MK tomorrow!
