When can we expect the 2014 rates to be released, my dining reservation date is July 9th and I want to have my reservations made. We plan on going Jan 4th, 2014:cool1:.<a href="http://distickers.com/ticker/"><img src="http://distickers.com/ticker/tickers/0p118u4szukfs5sepng" alt="DIStickers.com Ticker" border="0"/></a>

Usually August is when rates are set for the following year. It's been earlier, but August is the most common time for rate to be released.

I'm sorry I mean at French quarter lol

Yes! We took the boat from MK to Riverside to eat dinner at their food court then the boat back to POFQ and they are the same mugs. All the resorts have the same mugs. We did the same thing at Pop Century to use up our DDP from POFQ before we headed to the airport.

Yes all the mugs are the same at the resorts, but you are supposed to only use the mugs at the resort where you are staying. There is a whole thread about this issue. The refillable mug issue is a hot topic like pool hopping. Major no no.

Shh. What you did was a no no.

POR and POFQ are sister resorts so no official problem with using your mugs at both food courts during your trip.

However, as has been said, you can't officially do so at other resorts, or use them again on future trips.

My dad just booked 3 rooms with the military discount for Sept 21st - 28th for 35% off the rack rate. A very nice discount if you ask me. Though I wouldn't turn down a 30% off discount either.

Hmmm, I have never thought of this before. My dad served in the US Military in Vietnam - does this qualify him for a military discount? If so, I have some questions:

1. What sort of proof is required when booking?
2. Is the discount on packages or just room only offers?
3. Is the deal better than the various specials WDW offers?

Thanks,
Sydnerella's Mama

My family just arrived yesterday, wow, what a great resort, so pretty and relaxing. Woke up to fog this morning.....very beautiful. I am very impressed and happy with the resort so far. More updates to come. The weather is pretty hot....75 degrees. Very nice though. :)

Had a coworker stay at SOG, think they got military tickets as well. I think he just had to show his military ID (may have been the same thing you use to shop at the commissary on base?).

thanks - guessing my dad does not have his military ID from 1969. I will have him check into it further

I know her husband is retired military. But they do go to the commissary every so often. So he has an ID. (her daughter went in Oct and her husband is current so he had his actual ID)

Hello everyone :wave2:

Hubby and I are planning our first couples only Disney trip in years!
The kids are now in college and busy with their own lives and could really care less about going with us. Oh well, their loss :confused3

We have decided to try FQ,for the first week of Nov. and after reading through this thread, I think we are making a great decision! Our last trip was in 2009,so I have quite a bit of studying to do to catch up on all the new additions.Gonna order that new 2013 passporter soon to !!!! :coffee:
I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you as I plan, plan away !

It was her statement about using their POFQ mugs at Pop that spurred my comment. :)

We just returned on January 11 from our first stay at POFQ. This was our 20th DW trip and for some strange reason we've never stayed there before. I'm kicking myself for that now. We absolutely LOVED FQ and I think for a first couples trip, it is perfect!!! We keep talking about just the 2 of us going (DSs are in college), but we all have so much fun.....Maybe some day. Have a wonderful time at our new favorite!!! :goodvibes

You can book a room-only reservation for your anticipated dates, even before the rates come out. You'll pay a deposit of one night at the highest 2013 rate (probably Christmas). Then you'll be able to make your ADRs on time. When the rates come out, you can adjust your reservation, or change to a package. (Were I to do this, I'd make a reservation at one of the All-Stars to pay the lowest "high season rate" possible.)

Now, not to start another pool-hopping war, but since they're sister resorts, I assume I can use either POFQ or POR's pool?

Yes you can use the pools at both plus if you get the mug you can refill it at both Food Courts

Just arrived today at FQ..what a lovely resort. It's quaint, peaceful, and the grounds are beautiful. It's a great place for couples...would highly recommend!

I agree - POFQ is a gem. We went in January last year and are planning for next January. Perfect time for us since the crowds are not bad and it is wonderful to get away from the weather in New England for a short while. What building did you stay in?

I believe the offer is for active or retired Military personnel only.

I'm thinking you must have meant you took the bus from MK to Riverside, cause there is no boat from MK to Riverside :confused3
