Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

Meaning?

Cabo was beautiful, clean and safe. I wish Disney would do a Catalina, SD, Cabio cruise. There'd be probably 2-3 sea days in there too. That would be a fun trip.

I would sail for that! But I'd like Puerto Vallarta better than SD. I wasn't interested in the California coastal cruises that visited SF. I want to go warm places, a little further from where I live in Northern California.

Just checked our May 2014 on FANTASY that we put on hold. Its same price as booking! Maybe there is hope for us.

I wonder why DCL doesn't just move a ship over to Hawaii and have an island hopper combined with Alauni? (Sp?)

Only American flagged vessels can do that. Pride of America and its all American crew is the only game in town for interisland.

we did the Pixar West Coast cruise. We lucked out with a 1-1/2 days of sun in San Francisco ... and an afternoon of fog. That way we knew we were really in SF not a Disney ride
:cool1: We'd have prefered a warm cruise, but it fit out schedule and was something different than the Eastern and Western Carib we've done multiple times on the Magic.

Because they would then have to re-flag the ship as an US ship. And when they do this, the CMs onboard must be unionized, raising costs.

Well we all know that will never happen :(

Cabo is close to the tip of Baja. No crime activity there. Wish Disney would go back! :)

Looks like we've got the Magic back in Europe for the latter part of 2014 .. great news as no transatlantic fare for us!!:thumbsup2

In 2010, they did a fab Dover-Barcelona repo and it was sooo cheap for Europeans (we got a discount code). We're all just hoping that happens again really.:cool1:

This is exactly what I want to hear, did you hear it from a TA or something? I'm dying for confirmation of the rumors!

So the Dream has a standing schedule of 3 and 4 nights. 4 nights depart on Sunday, and 3 nights depart on Thursdays.

Looking ahead at 2014, specifically xmas/new years, Dec 25th and Jan 1st land on a Thursday. In years past, these two dates would coincide with a sea day AFAIK. Therefore, will we see 5n cruises for these? I can't imagine docking on these dates...

DCL has changed the schedule for Thanksgiving week for the same reason in the past. It's possible the 3 and 4-night cruises for Christmas and New Year's will be reversed in 2014.

Good point... We initially were looking at doing the Fantasy during xmas or NYE but budget might prevent us - instead we are now looking at the Dream during xmas 2014.

We booked 2013 NYE on Fantasy when prices first came out. 11C was cheapest room - for 4 of us w/ OBB = $5,565. I would like to book this same week again in 2014 - hope prices aren't any higher than 2013.

We've only cruised once and it was a semi-spur of the moment booking (booked just a couple of months out). At the time, there was a special offer of a $25 onboard credit. We are thinking of another 3 night Bahama cruise on the Dream in May, 2014. Is there any extra benefit of booking now or should I wait and see if any special offers come out for our travel dates?

I've tried to find other ports to see if they show the Magic and have had no luck...
I can't wait to hear where they are going....

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Why not do both?
If I really want to cruise, I book as soon as we decide to cruise. I like choosing my own cabin and knowing we'll have main dining time. Some feel it's better to book later, after the final payment due date, once they release specials. I don't want my vacation to depend on finding a special; I want to be able to book flights etc and know it's a done deal. If later they offer such a great special that it is worth cancelling & rebooking, like KSF, I'd go for it.

The last night of our May, 2012 cruise ended on a semi-bad note so I've not been able to talk my husband into saying yes yet. If a special offer comes out, will I have to cancel and rebook? Or will they be able to apply the special offer to an existing reservation like at WDW? If I were to book and have to cancel, won't I incur a cancellation fee?

Yes, but sometimes savings is more than cancellation fee such as KSF. Another option is to book now & watch. As FPDD approaches, cancel w/o penalty & wait for a special. Sometimes the prices are higher by then so there may not be a special. In that case, dont' cancel; keep the original res.

On our Nov Fantasy cruise, one could still book & get main dining just 3 weeks prior to sailing & showing lots of available cabins. That was unheard of when there were only 2 ships! Still no specials and somehow lots of cabins were booked in the last few weeks so by the week prior, no more early dining & very little availability.
I'm not a gambler so I can't take that last minute uncertainty. That's just me. :goodvibes
