for anyone who has sent in a fax with room requests and gotten a response from the resort, did someone email you and confirm your requests or call you? and about how many days after you faxed in your request?

What time does the earliest bus leave for HS? We really wanted to be there by 7:30 for SWW in May. Thanks so much!

I recently realised that I had not updated my room layout plans since the trundle beds went away, so here's my new version for the AB rooms. I'll do a generic one for the other sections next.

There's a PDF version HERE.

Did I miss anything, or get anything wrong that anyone can see? It may not be quite to scale, but I think it's pretty close. Also, do you think there's too much information (text annotations) or just about right?

Andre

Is there any way we can request that the table and chairs be taken out of our room? I know it sounds silly, but that would free up a good amount of area for us for a pack and play.

Normally an hour before park opening. You can ask if there's anything earlier for SWW though, or otherwise might be worth getting a taxi.

If you want to get there for the autograph session registrations, you might even want to be in line a bit earlier than that from what I've heard.

You can, sure. However try it out first, I think you'll find you're fine putting the pack'n'play either next to the beds or in the washroom area (which is useful, as it can be neatly curtained off at night to help the little one get to sleep).

We are staying in a RG river view room, My DH asked if he could bring his fishing pole and fish from the bank of the river.
I told him I would ask Andre!
TIA

I will be at POR Feb 24 - Mar 2 with my sisters celebrating my birthday and was wondering if the bounce back offer is still available can I use it for and existing reservation I already have for October or can it only be used for a new reservation? princess:

It doesn't say that it's limited to new reservations. So there's no reason not to ask! Worse comes to worst, if your existing reservation isn't within the cancellation period, you can just book a new one and cancel the old.

My dh and I will be staying at POR for our 20th Anniversary this October. Since we are always with our three kids, we never even looked at the option of a hot tub. I am pretty sure I read somewhere there is one at POR, so I was wondering what it is like? Can we use it at night upon returning from the parks? Is it usually crowded? :lovestruc

Any reviews lately from Boatwrights? I currently have a Dinner ADR there and not sure if we should keep it, or book something else? We will be in the MK that day and thought it would be convenient to eat Dinner after our break at POR.

We ate there this past June and my kids loved it. They made sure that when I made our ADRs for this upcoming visit that I made one there. The pecan pie is Yummy. My son who didn't like crawfish now loves it after eating it there.

I am wondering this same thing. I sent a fax Monday and trying to patiently wait for a response. I don't know if they always respond, but I believe I've read on this post that some have gotten responses.

By the way, we will be checking in Tuesday Jan 29th - so excited!!!

yes, i've seen quite a few people post about the responses they got - with all their requests granted!!! i don't even mind if i don't get all mine, i'm just wondering if someone will contact me at all. i got the vibe from others that i'd get an awesome response super quick lol oh well! we check in on feb 2 ... hope i didn't send it too soon. i sent it 11 days ahead so i could do my online check-in at 10 days.

Here now. My faxed request for the Mansions was not honored. We are stuck way out in the swamp. I am not a fan of the AB section. We are in Bldg 26 and not really convienent to anything. We don't really care for the decor and the layout and walkways are very confusing. I did figure out that following their signage to get anywhere is not the best idea. If you follow them you will have lots of extra steps on tired feet!! Housekeeping has been fine and no complaints on the resort. Last night we had a pizza flyer stuck in the door and called the front desk # and they conected me with security. Security came out and spoke with me. It was not a big deal, but I knew that was not supposed to happen!! I am glad you all love Riverside....I will not be back!!

Yes, you can bring your own fishing pole, but you can only fish at the official Fishing Hole (and you'll pay the same rate whether or not you bring your own kit). You can also rent a boat for a guided fishing excursion, but those cost quite a bit of money. See www.portorleans.org/recreation.php#Fishing for more details. Oh, and it's catch-and-release, so there's no getting Boatwright's to cook your catch later that evening.

Yes there's a hot tub on Ol' Man Island just next to the main swimming pool, but you're right that it is quite often crowded, even in the evenings. Nice though.

They don't always respond for simple requests, no, and it might depend on who is on duty at the time - everyone is a allowed a day off, even at Disney! However if anything needs clarifying (e.g. a party of five request a mansion building room) then someone will usually contact you, so make sure you quote your full contact details (email/etc) anyway.

That's a shame. What did they say at the check-in desk when you asked if they could get the room assignment team to find you a room in the mansions instead? I'd be amazed if they were at 100% capacity the last week in January, and it's obviously a big deal for you if it's spoiling your whole vacation and you wouldn't return there.

We're heading to Port Orleans in less than 3 weeks. Can't wait to get there.
This has been the longest January ever. This will be our 3rd stay at Port
Orleans ( our first stay was on our honeymoon - it was Dixie Landing back then)
We're in a water view room and I requested a room close to the food court.
What could we expect? Would love to stay in the alligator bayou section this time.
Also plan on going horseback riding at Fort Wilderness. Have to be there at
9:30. Do you think if we left at 8 that would be enough time to get there.
Plan on taking the bus to MK and than boat to Fort Wilderness
Thanks in advance

Chris :wave2:

Speaking of faxes - just working on ours :)
Can someone save me some time & tell me which page on this thread Venomhatch posted the sample fax on?

TIA!

ETA: That might be a good thing to put at the beginning of the threads????

If you've booked Water (Pool) View and also asked for AB close to the food court, they could maybe put you in building 18? But there are only six Water View rooms there, so you might well be further away than that (see the map in the first post to get an idea of where the Pool View rooms are located).

8am should be fine for getting to MK and then taking the ferry boat over to Fort Wilderness for 9.30am.

Been catching up after a long day but I am punching the clock here. I am on if you need me.

Normally an hour before park opening. You can ask if there's anything earlier for SWW though, or otherwise might be worth getting a taxi.

I read the Transportation board a lot and one thing I've learned from there is that buses start running at 6:30 am every day, although they come a bit less frequently until about one hour before park opening. (About every 30 minutes until 8:00 (park opening is 9:00 unless there's AM EMH), then it should be every 20 minutes.)

Sending you a PM ;) I don't know which page it's on, but I've got it.

Andre, thank you SO much for creating these. They're so helpful!! My only question is...where is the coffee maker in the room? Next to the fridge perhaps?

Just want to make sure they're not taking up all the table space with it.
