Refillable mugs...

An old chestnut for many, but having not been to WDW for a couple of years, worth asking....

Last (few) times we have went, the hotels (& DVC resorts) have moved away from location specific refillable mugs to a choice of 3 for all resorts (last time it was a black, red and yellow lid choice)

Is this still the case - or has the policy / mugs been changed since ?

Mugz are only good at the resort you are staying at. They had black, blue and pink lids/handles

They are still generic mugs and not resort specific in terms of design. They are still resort specific in terms of use, though. They did away with the red/black/yellow mugs in 2011. The current mugs are a beach theme in hot pink/aqua/black. New mugs should come out sometime this spring--if they stick to the usual pattern of changing them every two years.

And they keep getting smaller! We still have mugs from staying at Caribbean Beach back in 1992 and from Comtemporary in 1997 and they both held a lot more liquid than the ones we got this past December at Port Orleans Riverside.

Okay, you are DVC members, so you need to clarify that to count for the pool hopping. But the mug was only good at the resort you bought it at. That is why they are going to a chipped type mug at all resorts in the near future (to go along with the wrist band).

Thanks guys. We are staying for 13 nights - but actually 3 ressies - 10 n AKV, 1 n BLT and back to AKV for last 2 - but we shall be buying only the one set of mugs

Just save your receipt from the mug purchase. Then if you are questioned (which is highly unlikely), you'll have it.

This is true! My DH held onto the white/blue mug from 2008 for his morning coffee but won't switch to our Dec 2011 mug after his finally fell apart because it doesn't hold enough of his precious coffee! Looking forward to see what they have for this March vacation!
