Getting ready to take the boys to the bus stop. Wind chill is -9 here. Brrrrrrrr!!!!

What a cold snap this is! Stay warm.

Ginny: We can be secret Ravens fans together. :thumbsup2 (Although, my first team is actually the Redskins. :lmao: )

Just back from a very brisk walk to school with Miss M. It's 1.2°F at the moment... claiming to "feel like" -9. Probably about accurate because I can't FEEL my toes anymore. :faint:

The hubs totally shocked me last night. We put on Brave to watch with the kiddo. You all know the beginning of all Disney movies where they show the castle with that music playing? You all know. ::yes:: Well, I turn to him and say, "You wanna go back? Huh? Huh?" He replies plain-as-day, "Yep. I do want to go back." ... my jaw just hit the floor. He's usually never so willing to admit how much he likes it there. :confused3 So of course, I go and give him a HUGE hug. (I think he just might love a surprise mini-birthday trip there at WDW. Shall I stop looking at other places now? Certainly makes the planning easier. ::yes:: )

Will be fun to cheer on the Ravens together!! Can't wait for that game. :cheer2:
It's still really, really cold here, too. 5 degrees this morning. More lake effect snow... :crazy2: How long till spring???

That would be such fun to plan a nice mini trip! :beach:

Padawans, Do you think there will be any chance Disney will relent and allow you to change dates? The way it is now must be so frustrating.

Wookie, Hi in the 70's? Lucky you! Enjoy!

Jenny, Hope everyone is over strep soon. :flower3:

Waving hi to all the RC friends, have a great day!

Hi, All!

My name is Alison, and I was directed to this thread by Mousemommy1. I'm glad I'm not alone in the constant checking, rechecking, rebooking!

I stayed at AoA last year for our kids' first trip to Disney. We adored the family suite, and we paired that with the DDxP for a fabulous trip full of character meals and signature dining. We loved everything about the resort, so we booked a bounceback there.

Then . . . .

The obsessive thread stalking began.

And I priced everything. I went from AoA, to POR, back to AoA, then finally settled on BC Club level. I'm pretty sure that I'm set there, because my kids favorite attractions are at Epcot and DHS. I got hoppers this time so that we can pop into either of those two as we want.

Then . . . .

I started thinking, hmmmm, I loved CR when I stayed there last, and there IS a monorail to Epcot. Hmmmmm, never stayed at the Poly . . .

I have given myself a moratorium, under no circumstances will I move resorts again.

But I still cannot stop pricing out scenarios! Ahhhhhhhh!

Hi Alison, welcome! You have the routine down, check, recheck, ponder...it's what Resort Changers do! :rotfl:
Even when we don't have a current trip booked, it's fun to follow others changes.
Good luck with your decisions. pixiedust: Whatever resort (or resorts-split stay) you select, you'll be in sunny Florida! That's always a winner! :beach:

Wookie, Hi in the 70's? Lucky you! Enjoy!

I would love to be able to enjoy it, but I'll be stuck inside doing school work.

I have the same problem with pricing out scenarios. Then when I see prices I like, I come here and look and pictures of the resort, look at maps, and unofficial sites for that resort.

So what have I missed with your plans....no Apr or May, now it's Aug? WDW or US? I am so confused.
WL CY August...4-10th for now. A little scared of not booking the snack room :rolleyes2 but once we are at WDW the girls will be fine...I want to go to WDW and I am kinda being a deluxe brat :rotfl:

I just had to stop in and say how much I love you all!
 The more I make Marie..the more I waste...trust me

Just back from the Dr.s, three out of the five of us appear to have strep throat. UGH. Eldest DD was swabbed and had (she has been on antibiotics for 4 days now) a heavy growth of strep. :
:flower3: Oh Jen!!!! All of you get well soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you RC family. You all are so kind. Right now they're still trying to piece everything together but the events that led to her death may be slightly different. Now the police are saying she jumped out of the car at an intersection and he hit her with his car. It's just so tragic and horrible. I really feel for my uncle. I can't imagine his pain.

I think we are going to cancel the August trip. Financially it makes much more sense to save on airfare and just fly down the night before the cruise, then do a week on the ship and the week after in Disney. Fall is my favorite time in Disney. I've been so looking forward to hitting Food & Wine again and MNSSHP. And now it looks like both of my parents are now willing to accompany me on this voyage. I think the recent events with my cousin have made them ease up on their opposition. I think we are going to do Pop after the cruise to save on costs as well.
Sorry no summer trip but your fall plans are awesome so far sis

What a cold snap this is! Stay warm.
:beach: It is brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr chilly.....I'd like to be in Florida now!!!! Thinking Beachy warm thoughts...

Welcome Alison!!! I never physically changed resorts but I've thought about and priced out many options, so you're not alone!!! The BC sounds perfect for your family, but yes, the monorail resorts are wonderful!!! :)

Waving hi to all the RC friends, have a great day!

What I wanted to do was move my two night Akl reservation to Sept and change it to 7 nights at the BWI CL, and add two nights on the Poly reservation. I ended up changing the Poly back to WL because Poly was not available. I'm less than trilled about the WL. The cm had such a attitude it was unbelievable. I really should have asked for another CM in guest services. I was fed up with the whole thing, and was starting to lose my temper. I just cancelled the AKl reservation. It's hard for me believe a company would rather I cancel then get more money out of me. Anyway I'll see what kind of response I get to my letter. I will get keep writing until I get a call back. Most of trips I have not used the interline rate. I used AP, pins or BB. I know you can change a reservation after the promotion expires. I'm mad at myself for cancelling the AKL reservation. I should have kept it until I heard back on my letter.

My other option would be to move my WL reservation to Sept and spend 10 nights at YC. If that's allowed. My reservations are paid in full so I'm not sure I want to fork over more money for May yet, but it could be an option.

On the other hand I should be able to book a BB or Ap rate for Sept.

Not sure what this means for us moving forward to 2014. I really wanted AP's, but not sure I want to risk it.

Sorry that was a really long winded answer to a simple question.

Happy Hump day Peeps!! :cool1:

Jen and Dani, you all have been in my thoughts and prayers

Jen, hoping your household is germ free soon.:)

Dani, although we will miss you in August, as I said last night, you are not far away from Jeanette and me. We have to plan a DIS meet this spring. Your cruise plans and week in Disney sound like the perfect fit this year. :goodvibes

Marie, so sorry about the job, but as others have posted, it just means there is something much better in your future. Until then, hold down the fort, and enjoy more family time that comes with working part time. goodvibes

Padawans, hope you get some satisfaction soon from GS… it definitely wasn’t handled right.

Pas, when you actually arrive in Disney, then I know you are going for sure LOL. Happy you moved the trip to earlier August to take advantage of your AP. A better discount will come out soon my dear. Happy Bree is doing well! :goodvibes

Wookie, hopefully you get the nosebleed issue checked out to make sure it may be just the weather changes and not something worse.

Heather, Have a fantastic time this weekend!! Happy Birthday to Faith!! :flower3:

IHeart: Yay for getting your flights moved to August!! And if we end up coming, our time will cross with yours! :yay:

Miss, :woohoo: Love your Disney loving DH!! Soooo, have you booked the trip yet???

MouseMommy: Atlantis in 2014?? :):cheer2:

GG, thinking of you and glad you are having a ball with Jess!! It’s back to the same old same old here, finally got rid of my cold, and Sam has me going to the YMCA too many times.:) This AM I stopped at WaWa and just looking at the bakery stuff reminded me of the chocolate croissants! I want to be back in Disney!!

Welcome AliceIn!! You have found your home!

Waving hello to all my RC friends!! :goodvibes

:goodvibes Sooooooooooooooooooo if I switch "back" to GF GV end of August...I'd save $600 over my current reservation :confused3 that includes tickets.....if I did YC SV....$700 over that....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the Grand :flower3:

It is not helping that DS4 keeps saying Cinderella's Castle, and I love the Grand Floridian Mommy :rotfl:

Glad you are feeling better

OMG. I just spent 20 minutes doing a huge multi quote and my browser crashed. :badpc: A redo is just not happening. :sad2:

Good news here. DS8 and DS9 entered the school's PTA Reflections Visual Arts competition in the fall. I found out today that they placed 1st and 2nd overall and are both advancing to the State level. :cool1:

I don't know where they get their talent and creativity because it is NOT from DH or I. :confused3

Janet- Fabulous thoughts about possible future discounts! :cool1: That's music to RCers ears. :goodvibes

Pas-Lots of great options.:thumbsup2 Love your daughter's comments on resort choices. Too cute!princess:

Iheart-It is so annoying when the multi-quote goes poof. :(
Congrats to your Kids, that's wonderful news! Best wishes at State! pixiedust:

Just watching the snow here, 3-5 more inches between now and late this eve.
I miss Crescent lake. :beach:

Hello RC family! I don't know why my days are so busy lately, I feel so lost without keeping up with all of you :( I'm going to try a quick post from memory of the few skims I have gotten in.

Jen - I hope you and the girls are feeling a bit better. Are you able to take them to Nana's service today?

Wookie - Did I read you were having nosebleeds? I hope everything is ok. Have you made any more decisions on your trip? i know you have gone back and forth a bit and I haven't been keeping up.

Ginny - it was you with the BLT /bult comment, right? I laughed because I keep thinking of the sandwich too ;) We haven't been able to get a 1BR for any dates that work for us and it doesn't make sense to book a studio, so,we will happily keep our CR TPV room :)

Jeanette - It looks like you may have some changes coming up?????

Miss - I'll be sure to take lots of pictures from my TPV room in two weeks :) I hear you on the price of the CL rooms at CR, it's crazy but it was worth it for a one-time experience.

Kids are coming out got to run. Hope everyone is staying warm!!!! I'll try to get back on later, hopefully it won't be so busy this afternoon!

Just checking in for those who were thinking of us today. Thank you...:grouphug: Nana was laid to rest today, and all the family honoured her memory through pictures, stories, and tears. The DD's stayed for about an hour, and then my parents took them home for us. We are so lucky to have their support, they are always there whenever we need them. DH is emotionally exhausted, came home and slept for 3 hours.

That is all, DD8 still has many questions, as she put it "this was my first funeral mommy, of course I have questions!!" When I asked DD6 what she wanted to talk about, she said "Why oh why mommy....did I leave my juice box there???";) DD4 was still asking "Ok, where was Nana, we didn't even see her!!" This is after we explained to her many times that Nana was now in heaven. :confused3

Well...that is all. Have a lovely evening all.:flower3:
