Carsland Buttons

We have always gotten them at the various shops in Cars Land for answering trivia questions.

When we went in October there was CM walking around with bags full of them. They said back then that pink was rare so hopefully we can find one in Feb!

We got 2 (one red and one pink) from a CM in Flo's 3 weeks ago- she was behind the counter where they actually give you the food and pulled them from under the counter so I'd guess they had a bunch of them under there.

They're a group of 6 (?) buttons (large round ones-same size as the ones you get at character meals or the birthday buttons etc) that CMs in Carsland hand out. They have unique Cars characters on them. The Red is Speedy McMuffler, there's Princess Diamondlane, Blue Turbobird, the Green one is something Hybrid, yellow is a Taxi etc. There's another thread around here somewhere with the names and colors for each one.

When CL first opened, it seemed like these were being given out in stores and by roving CMs for answering Cars trivia questions and getting the whole set was a big deal. Over the course of last fall they became more common and now there's no trivia aspect anymore (unless the CM feels like it). They're available in the shops (not for sale-just ask) or CMs hand them out (see my post above about Flo's). I've even seen CMs walking up and down Route 66 with bags of them.

We just returned and they were just handing them out randomly. Dd got one while waiting for a photo with Mater and the guy ahead of us in the ice cream 'cone' line asked the CM for a pink one and she just handed it over. We saw lots of kids with all of them, but dd didn't care so much about that so we didn't even try.

Thanks for the explanation, Dreams! We're heading to Disneyland at the end of February and my children (and husband) have come to expect me to have all the answers to all their Disneyland and California Adventure questions--this one definitely would have stumped me!

I haven't seen CMs with them in obvious bags, but as others have said they're at locations throughout Carsland. We've always found them at the Route 66 store (left side, before Luigi's). Some CMs ask you trivia, others do not. They're pretty forgiving about getting the answer right (or letting you ask for help). All of the questions I've been asked have been about Cars and/or Carsland. Some will let you pick a color, other CMs just hand you a button (I'm sure you can ask for a color if you need to).

It probably is just a matter of random luck if CMs are handing them out. In December we were handed one by a janitorial CM when we in line for RSR. He needed us to squish together so he could get by and as he went by, he handed us a purple button.

Back in dec we were given a red one -- a CM in Flo's noticed that my toddler was being really patient, and offered it to him. It was in her pocket.

We went at the beginning of Nov. and during EMH we went on Mater's JJ. No one was in line and on the low stone walls of the queue they had TONS of the buttons. The CM saw us looking and told us to take as many as we wanted. I got one full set and gave it to a friend's child when we got home.

We were there the week before last, and DD6 received this one from one of the ride operators for Maters Junkyard Jamboree. (She gave it to DD6 as she got out of her tractor trailer.)
