Debby Doesn’t Get Us Down On Our Mother/Daughter Trip!- June 2012 TR- Link to the TR!

Hi again!:wave2: It's been a while!

So loving all of your beautiful pictures. Being the camera bug that I am, I can appreciate all the weird (and I say that in a positive way) angles and shots that you captured! Very creative!

Ok....what AWESOME news for your mom!!! And you  Now she can get the Florida resident pass and APs!! Big discounts there:thumbsup2 It's great that your DBF will be going for the first time. Have you picked the resort, yet?? Maybe your step-dad can get the FR discount. Happy times for you:thumbsup2

We're leaving next Friday for a super short mini-trip for Faith...her birthday surprise. Staying at POR in the Royal Room...can't wait! I'm excited to check out a new resort. And after looking at your POFQ pics, I'm very excited to going over there for breakfast on Sunday!

Hope yall have a great weekend!
Heather

Thank you! I'm a newbie at photography, so I'm definitely still learning!

We are very excited!!!!! We are thinking about All Star Sports because that's all we can afford for now (being poor college kids, ya know! ;)). Hopefully the crowds won't be too bad (even though they definitely will be!) and my DBF will get a good first impression!! I am really excited even if it's just a short trip; it will be a ton of fun!

Wow! What a wonderful surprise for Faith! That's awesome! :goodvibes She is going to be in heaven! :cloud9: So cute!

Let's Go to India part I
June 22, 2012

It was POURING! We took out our raincoats and braved it to France. Again, I was taking pictures in a plastic bag, so you may see the purple opening of the bag in the corner of the photos!

There were so many ponchos! It was hilarious!

I absolutely love the details!

IMG_2318.jpg

IMG_2320.jpg

At least the crowd thinned out!

IMG_2321.jpg

We kept walking into Morocco.

Funny story, as we were walking we overheard a father say to his child, “look, there’s India!” …Ummmmm nope try again! LOL! It was the funniest thing because I’m so used to the countries and know them like the back of my hand that I didn’t realize people actually DON’T KNOW what some of the countries are. My DBF is opening my eyes to a whole category of people who know NOTHING about Disney. It’s really hard to imagine, but it’s also very humbling! But don’t worry, DBF is going to be a pro by June!

ANYWAY.

We dashed inside the museum building to get out of the rain.

IMG_2358.jpg

IMG_2359.jpg

IMG_2364.jpg

When it started to get crowded inside, we braved the rain again to walk to the American Adventure! We really wanted to see the Voices of Liberty, but their last show had just ended! Sad face.

IMG_2369.jpg

IMG_2370.jpg

IMG_2371.jpg

Ok, so I don’t remember when it was because I didn’t get a picture, but we saw the best poncho ever! It was Batman and it had the hood and cape and everything! OMG I loved it!! It was hilarious!!!!

Next up was Italy, but we didn’t stop! We just kept plowing right through.

IMG_2372.jpg

IMG_2373.jpg

IMG_2374.jpg

IMG_2378.jpg

When we reached Germany, the rain was still coming down strong, but we decided to embrace it. It wasn’t going away, so we had to make the best of it. We took some photos, but we didn’t stay for long.

IMG_2383.jpg

I love this store!!

IMG_2389.jpg

IMG_2391.jpg

I mean the ponchos kill me! It’s hilarious! There’s so many!!!

Everybody Loves Duffy, Except Americans...
June 22, 2012

China came next.

IMG_2404.jpg

Then Norway.

IMG_2408.jpg

IMG_2411.jpg

IMG_2412.jpg

Mexico was so pretty that day! I think it was the dark sky, but all of the colors really popped!

IMG_2415.jpg

IMG_2420.jpg

IMG_2421.jpg

IMG_2422.jpg

Monorail!

IMG_2424.jpg

We had some time, so we stopped to meet Duffy.

IMG_2425.jpg

IMG_2426.jpg

IMG_2427.jpg

Now, this was a bit awkward because we were the ONLY native English speaking people in line. I know a lot of people dont like Duffy very much, but I think hes absolutely adorable and cuddly! I dont really think of him as a Disney character though. Just a little add-on! LOL! ANYWAY, it was awkward because the line was so diverse, and Ive heard that Duffy is a hit with foreign people more than American people. This was clearly the case that day. Even the handler looked at us funny as if to say, Youre the first Americans of the day! Which of course, cant be true, but it was still funny.

We were soaked from the rain, so the PP picture looks horrendous, and I dont think the PP Photographer was having a very Disney day, but here it is anyway!

After Duffy, we went into Mousegears to escape some of the rain. We tried on some hats and shopped a bit.

IMG_2438.jpg

Then it was time to head back to the resort. We were back by 5:40pm, and someone had left us a note!

The Ride is Open Until Closing
June 22, 2012

We showered and rested in the room until about 7:30pm. Our plans were to go to MK for the EMH that evening. For some probably stubborn reason, I did not bring my rain jacket to MK. I think I thought that it wasn’t going to rain and that I didn’t want to have to carry it around everywhere. BIG MISTAKE. It POURED .

When we arrived at MK, we went through the shops to stay out of the rain… and apparently everyone else did too! It was packed in there! We were getting hungry, so we decided to go to Pecos Bill’s for dinner. It took forever to order, but once we did, we barely found a table… in a corner… next to two sleeping babies. DARN! I felt so bad, but we tried to stay as quiet as possible! They ended up waking up soon anyway, and my goodness they were cute! We began eating our meal, but not without pictures first!!

Mom had the pulled pork sandwich and fries and she grabbed some cheese sauce, mushrooms, pickles, and banana peppers from the fixin’s bar! This was really yummy! It was really sweet and not spicy at all! Although, it wasn’t as hot as we wanted it to be.

IMG_2448.jpg

I got the standard cheeseburger and fries with lettuce, pickles, tomato, mayo, mustard, and ketchup from the fixin’s bar. It was good, but nothing too special!

IMG_2449.jpg

For dessert, I got the chocolate cake and Mom got the carrot cake. OH! Apparently, you can ask for a bottle of water instead of a dessert if you are on the dining plan. I think this is a really good option because I don’t think the desserts are that great, and if you are going to buy a water anyway, why not get it with your meal for later and save a snack credit? I haven’t tried this out, but I heard it on a podcast, so I might give it a try in June if we do the dining plan!

Anyway! Our desserts:

IMG_2450.jpg

After our meal, we went on Pirates. I love this ride so much!

IMG_2466.jpg

IMG_2476.jpg

IMG_2478.jpg

IMG_2479.jpg

IMG_2484.jpg

Ok, funny story, after we disembarked our boat, a family in front of us stopped to ask the CM how long this attraction stayed open. The CM’s response? “Till closing.”…. HAHHAHA :rotfl: It was the funniest thing at the time! The family thought nothing of it, and walked away. Meanwhile my mom and I were bursting at the seams! I mean, I’m not sure if the CM meant it to be funny or a joke, but the way it was worded was hilarious! Obviously it’s open until it closes!!! LOL!

ANYWAY. Moving on. We walked around Adventureland for a while.

I think Duffy is precious too! I don't get why people are so against him. I mean, it's Mickey's teddy bear. :confused3

UGH the rain. Yall were just swimming in a sea of ponchos hahah.

That's a cute mother-daughter picture at MK. :goodvibes

I really love all of your pictures! I feel like I keep saying this but they're so pretty!!

I especially like your pictures of India. :lmao::lmao::lmao: That really is hilarious about the man thinking that was India.

Reid would absolutely love to have a Batman poncho like the one you described. Of course, he's be even more exited if it was Captain America. :rotfl:

Did it pour the whole night at MK? That really stinks!

I finally caught up with your thread, lovely pictures! I freaked out when you mentioned HOSA! I'm a member of HOSA, it stands for Health Occupation Students of America. The National Conference was held in Orlando the previous year, so that's probably what you saw.

I <3 DISNEY, THIS TR, AND HOSA!

Ah...put me in the anti Duffy camp. Just a way for build a bear and Disney to make money. The story is cute but for an actual meet and greet....yeah, I'm with the majority

The colors really DID pop in Mexico, though I had to laugh in one pic where I did see the purple of your bag. I've never noticed the not so hidden mickey of gold plates/platters on the wall in Morrocco, cute! You guys did well, rain and all.

Question, is your whiteboard a magnetic one? We use ours quite a bit on the cruise but I'd never thought to bring it to WDW. However...with 5 teens next year I'm thinking it might be a very good idea! I wonder if all the doors are magnetic.

OMG! YAY! That's so cool! I remember asking one of the members, but I couldn't remember what exactly it was. That's awesome! :thumbsup2

I understand it's a total money trap, but he's just so cuddly!

I know, the bag just adds to the whole rainy experience. If I had more time I'd crop it out, but honestly I really don't! :rotfl: Mexico is such a pretty area, though!

Yes, the whiteboard was magnetic and surprisingly strong! I think all of the doors are at the Moderates and Vaues but not at the Deluxe hotels, but I could be wrong! Anyone have an idea??

WISHES!
June 22, 2012

Don’t forget to check out my PTR for our June 2013 trip! The link is posted above!

We grabbed a decent spot for Wishes. What a beautiful show! OMG I love Disney’s fireworks so much, and they are always so special!

IMG_2535.jpg

We moved up to the hub where we found a great spot for Magic Memories and You. OMG, if Wishes didn’t get me, MMY definitely did! This was my first time seeing it, and I literally was blown away by what they could do! It was awesome. I didn’t take any pictures of it because I was just in awe!

The castle looked so pretty afterward!

IMG_2537.jpg

IMG_2541.jpg

After the beautiful shows, we headed back into Adventureland to ride Jungle Cruise. Our skipper was Clarence and he was soooo funny! The ride was kind of spooky at night because it was so dark, but it was so fun!

We went on Big Thunder next which is always so much fun at night!

IMG_2547.jpg

Then we went to Splash which was EMPTY! I mean, we were the only ones in the boat!

IMG_2550.jpg

What a pretty sight!

IMG_2555.jpg

We were thirsty, so we went into Pecos Bill’s for a drink and to sit down for a bit at about 12:00am. It had stopped raining by then and was only misting.

Late Night at the Kingdom
June 22, 2012

After our break, we leisurely walked toward the HM while taking in the empty park.

IMG_2563.jpg

IMG_2571.jpg

We queued up for HM and decided to do the interactive side because I had never seen it before. It was really cute!

IMG_2572.jpg

IMG_2573.jpg

IMG_2576.jpg

IMG_2579.jpg

Then it was time for Small World, of course.

IMG_2594.jpg

IMG_2602.jpg

IMG_2605.jpg

We made our way to Storybook Circus and took some pictures of the beautiful new area.

IMG_2624.jpg

We wanted to ride Space, so we continued on the path to Tomorrowland.

IMG_2628.jpg

There was a 30 minute wait, but we decided to wait because we were almost done anyway. By 1:45am we were on the ride! I love Space Mountain sooo much!!

We went on TTA to kill the 15 minutes until 2:00am when the park closed. TTA kept breaking down, though and a maintenance guy had to keep coming back! It was so funny! There was just us and another woman who were stuck on the ride, but we told them we wanted to keep riding. We did, and by 2:00am, we got off and made our way down Main Street. We waited a good 20 minutes for a bus and got back to the hotel by 2:30am and were in bed by 2:50!

Wow - Talk about a mega update!

I love that picture of you and your mom with the mouse ears. Very cute!

I really enjoyed all the detail and variety in your pictures during this update. Your firework pics are wonderful. You really had a very full day!
