Dining plans for FL residents?

Is there dining plan options for JUST FL residents?

We just moved to FL last summer, and bought ourselves seasonal passes. We've enjoyed going the parks once a month or so. Mostly we just go for the day.

We're going for a few days in March and staying on property.

My husband said when he called and talked to reservations they were telling him about a dining plan that was so much per day or whatever.

I don't see any other thing about dining plans unless you purchase a whole package thing.

We were thinking of getting the dining plan for the 2-3 days we were there. Which would be great.

So I was wondering was the reservations woman talking about something that was specific to just FL residents then, do you suppose?

My best advice is since you have seasonal APs is to go for the TIW card which costs $100 for the year. (for FL residents it's $125 so the seaonal AP gives you a discount from that;-)

It gives you 20% off food and beverages at most WDW restaurants. Nothing to keep track of like the DDP. If you pop in for a weekend or an extended trip it's a convenient discount. You can check out the link below which is to WDW's official site for TIW for more info as well as a current participating restaurant list and list of perks ( like free valet parking at any resort you dine at, etc).

For as often as you plan to go it just gives you more flexibility.

I'm a FL resident, and I don't think you get a discount.
If you show a AAA card then usually you get 15% off (I think), but for being residents there are the hotel/ticket discounts.

I'm going to have to call the reservation line myself. What do you suppose she was talking about to my husband? She obviously knew we were only staying 3 nights... Huh...I'm confused now.

If you are staying onsite, you can purchase the same dining plans that everyone else can. Most people have to buy a one day park ticket in order to make the room reservation a "packaged" and therefore eligible to add on the dining plan. If you have APs (or on on the military tickets), you can have a "ticketless" package and purchase the dining plan without purchasing tickets. Maybe that is what she was talking about

AFAIK there is nothing available just for FL residents, but if you are staying onsite you are eligible for the same dining plans as everyone else. In December I booked a room using the passholder discount and looked into getting the dining plan as well. I believe the regular DP is something like $50/day for adults. That is probably what the CM was referring to. As PP mentioned, you also get a discount on the TIW card, but it's only a good deal if you plan to eat at TS restaurants often. Be sure to check into which restaurants accept it before purchasing. Additionally, one perk of the pass is discounts of 10-15% at certain restaurants. These are listed on the passholder website and in the booklet attached to your ticket holder.

I do wish they would offer some sort of flexible date or annual DP for FL resident passholders. It would certainly motivate me to visit the parks more often. I could make it a part of my grocery/food budget, and it would be nice for everything to be prepaid.
