Show Me the Cupcakes!!!

I was looking for a pic of the Butterfinger at Starring Rolls, found it and so much more,lol....my goodness I think I just gained 5 lbs looking at this thread..

Unless I have missed it, is there a link that lists all the different cupcakes and where they are located. I want to eat these cupcakes I see posted on our trip this summer. Thanks.

Question: Does anyone know if they will provide a TO GO box for cupcakes so that they do not get messed up? I really want to head to Starring Rolls and buy at least 6 LOL

Also--prices?? Are they typically $4 each?

I put together a cupcake guide for my blog (you can also find a link in my signature) that lists which cupcakes have been spotted at which Disney locations, and the Disney Food Blog also has a fabulous cupcake page.

It depends on where you are. I know Starring Rolls has some cardboard boxes that don't really fit a cupcake very well, but other places like the Contempo Cafe and the Boardwalk Bakery have boxes specifically made for cupcakes. Cupcakes are typically $4.25 with tax, although lately at some locations they've been hiking up the price to closer to $5.

My daughter and her family just got back from DW last Monday and they brought my DH one of the oreo cookie cupcakes from Starring Rolls (the ones that have the oreo cookies for Mickey ears). They packed it in a disposible clear plastic cupcake carrier. Traveling on a plane for 3 hours + a 45 minute lay over, it didn't reach him without a little icing loss but everything got to him in one piece and it was delicious. Not as good as my absolute favorite Red Velvet Cheesecake cupcake :goodvibes but still delicious. If you scroll back in a few pages of this thread, there are some picture of the cupcake holder that you can see.
And yes, about $4 each for the price

Depending on when you're going, any guide may be out of date. Some places, like Contempo Cafe, change their cupcakes often. Starring Rolls seems to be consistent though.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but when we were in WDW in December, Disney Quest had the exact same Red Velvet cupcake and Peanut Butter cupcake as Starring Rolls.

One of the new stores in the Fantasyland expansion has cupcakes and pastries, WDW has been pushing that as the temporary replacement. I don't remember what it's called, but it's a new Big Top in the circus area. Good luck!

We are coming to WDW this summer for a family vacation. We are thinking of booking a specialty cruise to celebrate our kids' birthdays. I was thinking about having some cupcakes brought aboard for the celebration.

After reading this thread, and trying to get my mouth to stop watering after seeing all the great photos, I'm wondering a few things.

1.) Do you think cupcakes would be good for an evening cruise in the summer. (I worry about these decadent things surviving outside) - I guess they do this all the time, but I'd hate to order a bunch of these and then have them turn into a muck mess. Especially at $4+ a pop!

2.) I'm wondering if I should order something a little extra special (flavor, decorated, etc) for each of the kids... our son will be turning 12 and our "princess".... er, daughter, will be turning 6.

Could someone lend their thoughts.... either on decorating ideas, or if you think in the heat of the summer evening, cupcakes would be a good idea?

Thanks!

My first thought here is that they're actually fairly big cupcakes and you pretty much need a knife and fork to eat them. If you pick them up like you normally would a cupcake, it would be all over you and crumbs and chunks dropping, etc. My DD18 and I shared a few on our last visit and each time we had plates, knives, forks and we split each one because they're so big. I haven't a clue how that would work out while on a cruise.

OMG I just went thru this whole thread and now I want a cupcake! :rotfl:
We will be leaving for DW in 22 days and I now have a list of must try cupcakes. Glad we do so much walking to offset all of the eating I will be doing. :rotfl:

I agree with Ilivetogo - Disney cupcakes are HUGE and it's nice to have a plate and a fork and knife. That sounds like a really cute idea though, to bring the cupcakes on board - do they have tables on the boats? Or maybe mini cupcakes would work better? I've seen those at Art of Animation, not sure if they still have them.

The Contempo Cafe has some pretty birthday cupcakes with Minnie and Mickey toppers.

Not sure which one you're talking about, so ....

The 1st one is chocolate fudge and we got that at Roaring Forks at the Wilderness Lodge. (I like to visit the resorts to check them out.) :goodvibes

The 2nd one is Oreo Bonbon and that's from the Boardwalk Cafe on the boardwalk, of course.

We also shared the Strawberry Lemonade cupcake at the Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary Resort.

The Smores cupcake and the Carrot cupcakes (Wilderness Lodge) were purchased to take home to her roomies at college.

How was the chocolate fudge cupcake? Looks delicious. Is it available anywhere else, maybe at one of the parks?

Why do I keep coming back to this thread? My thighs' circumference just increased by 3 inches; I will not mention what happened to my backside. Somehow, I fear, this will not deter me from drooling over these cupcake pictures.

I have to say the Chocolate Fudge one was the best out of the bunch! Very good. Least fav was the Oreo one. Kinda bland tasting and the frosting is whipped cream, not icing, which I don't care for.

I am not positive which parks/resorts you can get which cupcakes, but I know somewhere in this thread is the link to the cupcake "list" that DOES tell where you can get each one. I'd have to go back and find it. (unless someone else can post it again .... :confused3 )
