Wow! :( what a sad day for our RCers! Dani, my heart and thoughts are with you. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your cousin :hug: you are in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers

Padawans: so sorry to hear of your dissapointment, you have definitely been a loyal and lucrative customer for Disney! I hope this doesn't spoil The joy of Disney for you, and I sure hope you stay part of our family! I'd miss you if you where to leave our little group :hug:

Now for my sad news.... I'll make it short as I am still teary and disappointed. I didn't get the job :( whatever their reasons, I don't know -- I had the qualifications, I guess my interview might have been less than perfect. I am sad because I was beginning to think of what the extra income would have meant for my family -- at least my family is supportive and I still have a job to go back to, for that I am thankful. I'm not sure what this means for the Feb trip I was hoping for to take Andrew and his BF to DL. DL is almost as expensive as WDW , especially when you want to stay on site. I may try saving and still try to make it a go -- but I have to get some bills paid off soon (mainly the new snow blower I just bought DH at Christmas)! We will see how things go over the next few months. Just thought I should let you all know as you where so supportive and all cheering for me.
I feel :(

Marie So very sorry you did not get the position :( Think positive something better is coming your way. : hug:

padawans- That stinks. I can't believe they didn't even warn you before you PIF. Unacceptable! I hope that they can make things right for you somehow. :goodvibes

chimo2u - Sorry about the job. Perhaps there are even bigger and better things coming your way :hug:

Getting ready to take the boys to the bus stop. Wind chill is -9 here. Brrrrrrrr!!!!

Busy busy busy as always lately....but wanted to,stop in quickly for a few things.

Dani - I am so sorry about your cousin! How horrific!!!! You are your family are in my thoughts and prayers. HUGS!!!

Marie - I am sorry to hear about the job. I didn't read your whole post but I guess the silver lining (hopefully) is that you get to stay part time ;) maybe something even better is around the corner, you never know! HUGS!!!

Padawans - UGH, UGH, UGH! I can't believe that happened. I can totally understand your frustrations and anger right now. As for RCI cruises, we have been on Freedom, Oasis, and Allure and loved each one more than the last :)

Off to get a loaf off bread started and give the kitchen a quick steam mop. I'll try to jump back on in a bit an catch up some more.

Good morning everyone!!!!! Seems I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Jenny - I'm so sorry to hear about Nana. She sounds like a wonderful person who lived a great long life.

disneydreamin247 - what can I say but "wow"? I cannot imagine the pain and heartache you must be going through with losing your cousin so suddenly in such a horrible way!!! It's just another reminder of how short life can be.

Padawans - ugh, how annoying!!! I agree with you on the customer service. Yes, there are some great customer service reps but there are also a handful that seem to be clueless and for us loyal, long time customers, it can be frustrating. The good thing is, he did change your reservation. I would definitely let them know of your experience! I know for me, when dealing with Disney, my expectations of customer service and service in general are higher than with any thing else I do.

Chimo2u - Sorry to hear about the job! That's discouraging but like you said, at least you have a job to go back to! Just keep looking, something else that was meant for you is bound to come up. Good luck with some pixie dust!

As for me things are pretty much the same so I have no complaints! Have had a 3 day weekend, too bad every weekend can't be 3 days!! I did take my 15 yr old dog for her checkup yesterday and she's doing well for her age, just some heart problems that the vet is a little concerned about but she's on meds and we're going to try a different med to see if that strengthens her heart beat. She's a little feisty girl for her age!!! She kept snapping at the vet yesterday so her nickname from them went from "Bubblelina" to "firecracker", lol, she's so wonderful though and I'm so blessed to still have her.

Ok, so we're staying with the Poly!!! I just love that resort too much to change and I'm excited about seeing the new rooms!!! We will venture over to BW and YC/BC and consider it for future stays.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Oh my is that cold!! Stay warm. JM thinks as soon as it gets cold enough to see you breath, it's too cold to go to school. He would never want to go with temps like that.

My morning started out eventful since I had another nose bleed. I have never had this issue before. It's starting to get on my nerves.

I should be home doing school work today, but i'm not. The DH didn't have to train anyone today, so I'm riding along. I'll just sit in the car and read while he's in the houses. Maybe I'll finally get the Karen Marie Moning book finished. The only downside is I have to wait until we get home to harvest my FarmVille 2 crops.

Jen and Dani: Thinking of you both. Sending some :hug: Feel bad when any of you are going through difficult times.

Marie: Sorry about not getting the new position. Chin up, my friend -- just means something better's down the road. :hug:

Padawans: Blah! That is really poor on their part. :crazy2:

Ginny: We can be secret Ravens fans together. :thumbsup2 (Although, my first team is actually the Redskins. :lmao: )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just back from a very brisk walk to school with Miss M. It's 1.2°F at the moment... claiming to "feel like" -9. Probably about accurate because I can't FEEL my toes anymore. :faint:
What changes have I missed?
sis We are scheduled for the 4-20. If I scale it back it will be the 4-14, probably. I would rather have extra time at home before going back to work than to come back and go right to work again.
I think we are going to do the cruise. If my friend doesn't come through and isn't able to commit to both trips I will force my mom to go. If I book her a ticket AND plane ticket she can't refuse. I would lose money. I'm really good at forcing her to take vacations.
DH likes the end of August...low crowds and hot hot hot :faint: With the way my budget is going and I am getting thousands less back in tax refund (too much OT) I'll be happy just to go :confused3
And another :hug: for you!
The game was getting so bad that I decided to distract myself by calling CRO to check on Poly GV CL availability....nada.
YC CL stands....
For now..........;)
Hoping we can carry this weather with us to the MK on Saturday.
Heather
Me too Heather!!! Sunny skies for Faith's trip!!!!!
Jeanette you can believe I am going to book ASAP before he changes his mind!
:cool1:
Date change.
I got my flights changed so we are going to do 8/7-8/17. I'm booked all 10 nights at YC CL at the moment, but that's subject to change if I can get Poly CL at a good rate for the first few nights.
:beach: So its covered under the BB??? Poly/YC is a great split!!! I'm hoping it works out...my PIN has such limited choices...can that many people be booked for August..WOW :crazy2:
At the moment I hate everything Disney. I don't know if I'll even be back on these boards. I'm off to write guest service a not so nice letter.
:furious: So sorry that's happening....I hope your Disney love returns, and hope to see you back :flower3:
Pas-Walking to Epcot is really fun, on the other hand, WL is really cool, too. How's a girl to choose
With the freezing temps....the Epcot side is SO TEMPING...I could get a discount at YC or BC no snack room....:duck: what to do what to do ....
Now for my sad news.... I'll make it short as I am still teary and disappointed. I didn't get the job
I am sorry Marie :hug:
:goodvibes Poly is awesome! I am so torn even thinking of leaving the MK area :upsidedow
What changes have I missed?
None here....yet..........................:scratchin
Stay warm :hug: I am driving the kiddos to school. I can't bear them standing in the cold for a minute ....I'm a wuss
None here....yet..........................:scratchin
Uh-oh, I see that chin-scratchin'... :rotfl: Speaking of cute lil' chins, how's Bree doing?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The hubs totally shocked me last night. We put on Brave to watch with the kiddo. You all know the beginning of all Disney movies where they show the castle with that music playing? You all know. ::yes:: Well, I turn to him and say, "You wanna go back? Huh? Huh?" He replies plain-as-day, "Yep. I do want to go back." ... my jaw just hit the floor. He's usually never so willing to admit how much he likes it there. :confused3 So of course, I go and give him a HUGE hug. (I think he just might love a surprise mini-birthday trip there at WDW. Shall I stop looking at other places now? Certainly makes the planning easier. ::yes:: )

Bree is great, thanks for asking! :hug: She kept the glue intact all weekend despite a birthday party at a friend's house Saturday. No gym or recess until Friday :rolleyes2 Fingers crossed no more noggin bumps :goodvibes

YEAH for a WDWloving DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pixiedust:

Wow, glad she managed to keep the glue intact. My DD would have had it opened 100 times by now, lol!

So what have I missed with your plans....no Apr or May, now it's Aug? WDW or US? I am so confused.

I just had to stop in and say how much I love you all! :grouphug: thank you for the words of encouragement and understanding. Yes, it was hard because I began dreaming and spending that extra money -- thinking how much double my salary would mean to us. But in the end, it just isn't the right time, I guess.....and I need to be content with what I have. People will move on and retire, and perhaps I can move up in the future. However, I am blessed to have a secure, permanent Govt. PART TIME job that pays $20.00'ish per hour
( what I'd have to work full time hours to make in any normal retail industry job) So I will just go back to my part time schedule and try to look at how I can make a budget to help my family move ahead and pay off some debt while saving too. We've gotten by on much less than we make now, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to manage now! It was fun to dream how double my salary could make our life more fun.....but really, it would have probably just made it easier to spend more money!
I am glad I have you all :goodvibes

Hi everyone

Just back from the Dr.s, three out of the five of us appear to have strep throat. UGH. Eldest DD was swabbed and had (she has been on antibiotics for 4 days now) a heavy growth of strep. :worried:She is much better now, but youngest and I are on meds too. I wanted to make sure we were seen before tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, it supposed to be -11 Celsius but feeling like -22 with the windchill.:scared1: But it is important we all pay our respects to Nana. DH is going to be a pallbearer.

Marie: Aw I know how hard it can be when you get your hopes up about something. It is just not the right time, and when it is you will know. They are missing out on you!:flower3: I think your current job sounds great too, and it allows you a bit of spare time also? I think the same sometimes. My job is pretty basic, (retail but I make good money also as I have been there for 23 years). I always tell the DD's that I choose to work part time there so I can be home with them too. They know that I did have a good job in my field from college before we had them. :)

Pas: Glad Bree is doing ok with her glue. :thumbsup2 Kids are so resilient.

Miss: I love that your DH is feeling the WDW love! I think a short trip sounds so nice, and Miss M would enjoy it too I bet!

Melissa: Hi! Hope you are all doing well too!

Wookie: What is up with the nosebleeds??? Is this a problem you have always had??

Hi to Ginny, Padawans, Candace, Janet, and everyone else.:wave2:

Hey Guys!!! :wave2:

Since my PTR has been heating up with interaction lately, I have posted my most recent update there. :p

Jen I hope you all are feeling better soon!!!! :flower3:

Leaving work in a bit, then off to gymnastics...

Think we decided on Atlantis for sure in Feb...so much going on!!!!

YAY!!! Are you going to book CR???? I'm telling you, 14th floor is being completely redone! Book it now ;)

I am... I swear it! Just not CL -- one look at our most recent CC statement convinced me to go the Garden Wing route. :headache: (Although, you know how it goes with me and YC/BC.) I'm going to have to pay down our CC a bit before I make a deposit.

You know... some pics from your upcoming trip could sway me! :laughing:

Miss: I love that your DH is feeling the WDW love! I think a short trip sounds so nice, and Miss M would enjoy it too I bet!

Poor kiddos and you with strep! :grouphug: Will be thinking of you guys tomorrow.

Leaving work in a bit, then off to gymnastics...

They moved Atlantis to Orlando?! :rolleyes1 O keed, I keed. Also, I'm adding this: Keep your YC ressie! :cheer2:

I like Winter, well at least the way we have it. I just don't think I could do that cold. I think our highs will be in the 70's the next couple of days.

Uh-oh, I see that chin-scratchin'... :rotfl: Speaking of cute lil' chins, how's Bree doing?

If my DH said that to me, it wouldn't be my jaw to hit the floor. I think I would totally pass out.

:grouphug: I think when something like that happens to me, if the end of the dream that is the part that really bothers me.

Hi everyone

Y'all stay bundled up, keep warm, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, and feel better soon. Y'all will be in my thought and prayers, especially tomorrow.

Wookie: What is up with the nosebleeds??? Is this a problem you have always had??

I can't remember ever having them before. When we were little there were times, where I swear all you had to do was look at my sister cross-eyed and her nose would bleed. My mil thinks it's stress/blood pressure related. I talked to my mom and she said she had one and my sister's been having them. It's probably a combo of the weather (it'll be snowing one day, and in the 70's the next) and stress/ blood pressure.

I had a good day with the DH, well until my sister ruined it with a text. He got me Popeye's chicken for lunch, and a Oreo Mint Blizzard from Dairy Queen for an afternoon snack, and a Starbucks drink on the way home. My sister texted me and asked if I could dog sit the weekend of February 2. I told her that it depended on if my DH was joking about not letting me drive up to OK to go to the Duck Dynasty meet and greet. I have to meet Uncle Si, he's the greatest!! She texted back, saying they changed it from Saturday to Friday. grrrr...now I can't go for sure. I may go dog sit, so I can get out of this house for the weekend with the boys. Plus, I do love my fur-niece and nephews.

Plus, I'm back to thinking, instead of a WDW trip in September, we should just move out as soon as I get a job. I am just sick of my fil, whether the mil thinks she needs me here or not. She married him, not me. I don't have to put up with his 3 year old cussing rants.

Thank you RC family. You all are so kind. Right now they're still trying to piece everything together but the events that led to her death may be slightly different. Now the police are saying she jumped out of the car at an intersection and he hit her with his car. It's just so tragic and horrible. I really feel for my uncle. I can't imagine his pain.

marie I am so sorry you didn't get the job. Perhaps it just wasn't meant to be. I know that's so cliche but you just never know. The work environment may have been miserable. You could be averting a horrible boss. Big hugs to you.

I think we are going to cancel the August trip. Financially it makes much more sense to save on airfare and just fly down the night before the cruise, then do a week on the ship and the week after in Disney. Fall is my favorite time in Disney. I've been so looking forward to hitting Food & Wine again and MNSSHP. And now it looks like both of my parents are now willing to accompany me on this voyage. I think the recent events with my cousin have made them ease up on their opposition. I think we are going to do Pop after the cruise to save on costs as well.

Marie Sorry you didn't get the job. You have always seemed to be happy with your part-time job. The vacations are great the working is not, and sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it. I am what management refers to as a "very expensive nurse". I am always under a microscope. I can't say any of the directors like me since I make more money than them. I love the money, and love the vacations, but I was a lot less stressed when I was just a part time staff nurse. Once you get used to the money it's very hard to go back to making half as much. Just something to think about if your happy with your current job.

I hate to sound so negative about the Cm's in reservations, but I am very negative about them. I have had so many issues, mistakes and long unnecessary phone calls. They're always nice they just don't know how to do their job. One of the CM's at guest services gave me her number to call if I ever have issues again. Darn..I can't find it.

I just got off the phone with Universal. I have to call accounting tomorrow 10 days since I cancelled my reservation, and they have not processed the refund yet. Not a good week.

My excitement over this vacation is gone completely. If I didn't have the AP's I would be cancelling completely and going on a cruise. It's really not fun having room reservations that you can't change.
