Alligator Roadkill Was Just The Beginning!!! Updated 2nd May!!

HAHAHA. Oh that poor unsuspecting teenaged boy. He just wanted to ride Everest. (He learned his lesson. No more single rider lines!!!) :lmao: Hahah but seriously, that is too funny about your bag!

Dinosaur IS scary! Omg. It seriously scares me! Ya know, I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE the Babysitter's Club and I thought I read all the books, but apparently NOT because I had no idea they had one set in Disney!! No I feel like I've been missing out! :rotfl:

HAHAHA I wonder what you would think of my accent. I would probably LOVE yours, that is if you have one! I always looooove Australian accents!

Great update!

I am impressed that you got your bag into the net on Expedition Everest.. I always end up with my bag wrapped around my leg and just have to hope for the best ;) ... I think the only ride with large nets for belongings is probably Dinosaur?!

I love the meerkats too :cutie: .. I'm not sure you have it in Australia, but there is a comparison website here called 'Compare the Market', and they use meerkats in their adverts "Compare the Meerkat" :goodvibes lol

'Warrrthawgg'.. that must have been so funny!!

Emma princess: x

I found your TR the other day and have been laughing through each and every update! :lmao: One of the funniest I have read in a LONG time! Subscribing so I don't miss the next one. :goodvibes

Yay!!!! Welcome!!!
THanks so much! I just started reading your TR and love it! Your son is so ridiculously cute!!:goodvibes

I know EXACTLY the Babysitter's Club book you are talking about! Dawn got nauseous after riding Space Mountain. But it was flat soda- not lemonade! Lemonade is usually pretty flat to begin with. :)

Babysitters on Board was such a classic!!! Ahh that book was seriously my favourite!
Whoops, that is my mistake!! I should explain. Over here we call Sprite 'lemonade'... so when I said lemonade I meant Sprite... the soda. I always forget that and whenever I am in the US I try to order soda by calling it lemonade and get actual lemony lemonade. :rotfl:
Poor Dawn, the WDW version of Space is much more intense than the DL one...

My granny was born and raised in Georgia and can turn "Hi y'all" into a three minute soliloquy, so I totally appreciate Mr. Waaaaaarrrrrrtttthhhhaaaawwwwgggg. Ka-lass-ic!

Ahhhhh I am a fan of her already!!! I love that SO much!
Seriously it was the best word ever!!!!

Ah, the perils of the lost car...been there, done that...pretty routinely before the advent of cell phone technology! Thank goodness for camera phones!

Seriously! Mobile phone cameras saved my sanity the next trip! But geez ugh we were so terrible this trip at remembering. It's not very fun to lap those parking lots in the middle of summer...

When we were there in January the meerkats were gone!! I was so sad, I loved them!! The staff member that was there said he didn't think they were coming back :sad1: I love Dinosaur but my son isn't a fan because it is too loud for him. He'll take one ride with me but he sticks his fingers in his ears (and I think he closes his eyes too because they are always closed in the picture!)

Oh no are you serious?! That makes me so sad
I seriously have so much love for them. In fact I just went to our zoo here in Sydney a few weekends ago and pretty much spent the whole time admiring them.
IMG_7432_zpsf231036d.jpg

Awhhh!

Haha I'm totally with your son. I still ride it but I hide in Joshs lap with my fingers in my ears for most of the time...

So here I was sitting at my kitchen window looking out on the snow and deceptive sunshine (current temp in single digits) and thinking of a warm destination. I decide to look for a new TR to read and stumble across your title and had to check it out. I've only read the first post and already can't wait to read the rest!!

Yayyyy!! Welcome! It's great to have you along for the ride!
Oh my goodness that sounds absolutely freezing!
Although I guess the grass is always greener because we are having a crazy summer and just had our hottest day in about 100 years. It was 46.5 degrees celsius where I live on Friday which is about 115 fahrenheit :scared:
Lets all just go to Disney and have a mild January together :rotfl:

HAHAHA. Oh that poor unsuspecting teenaged boy. He just wanted to ride Everest. (He learned his lesson. No more single rider lines!!!) :lmao: Hahah but seriously, that is too funny about your bag!

Hahaha I know! Poor boy! He just wanted to visit the yeti and he got sucked into being my partner in bag squishing crime. Oh gosh... it is funny NOW but at the time I was freaking out so bad!

Dinosaur IS scary! Omg. It seriously scares me! Ya know, I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE the Babysitter's Club and I thought I read all the books, but apparently NOT because I had no idea they had one set in Disney!! No I feel like I've been missing out! :rotfl:

ARGHHH!!! YOU NEED TO READ 'BABYSITTERS ON BOARD'!!!
Seriously. Combining Disney and The Babysitters Club is pure perfection.
They all go to Disneyworld AND on a Disney cruise. Amazing.
Ok so maybe I haven't read it for a few years...but it seriously made me so happy as a pre-teen that it is a little ridiculous.

HAHAHA I wonder what you would think of my accent. I would probably LOVE yours, that is if you have one! I always looooove Australian accents!

I'm sure I would love it:rotfl: I LOVE American accents!
I actually just found one of the videos we took during the roadtrip so once I pop that up you can judge for yourself.

Great update!

I am impressed that you got your bag into the net on Expedition Everest.. I always end up with my bag wrapped around my leg and just have to hope for the best ;) ... I think the only ride with large nets for belongings is probably Dinosaur?!

Haha it was quite the mission to squeeze that bag in. Luckily I had the reluctant awkward teenage boy to help with the pushing :rotfl:
I definitely did the leg wrapping move the next few times.:thumbsup2

I love the meerkats too :cutie: .. I'm not sure you have it in Australia, but there is a comparison website here called 'Compare the Market', and they use meerkats in their adverts "Compare the Meerkat" :goodvibes lol

Oh my goodness I just you-tubed a bunch of their ads! AHHHHHH!!! They are so funny! The only thing better than meerkats dressed up, is meerkats with accents that are dressed up. The one with old men...meerkats was the best!

'Warrrthawgg'.. that must have been so funny!!

Emma princess: x

It was so funny! How on earth do you make a word last for a month? Ask that guy aka the best word stretcher...EVER!

I love your story about the teenage boy who, as fate would have it, won the opportunity to ride Expedition Everest with you. I'm sure he will not soon forget it! Hilarious! :rotfl2: And you thought he'd be there when you turned around.....I'm sure he was sending off some major "I am NOT with her" vibes.

And to think those people on Kali actually gave you a couple of stories as a result of their rudeness. They were sent...sent to help you with your trip report. ::yes::

Haha, all right, I'll admit, I've only ever lived in southern states, and both sides of my family are extremely southern, so when you talked about how drawn out Warthog was, I couldn't help but laugh. Because it's so true. People with southern accents are never in a rush when saying something. :lmao: Now, next time I listen to my aunt or cousin talk, I'm going to be thinkig about this story. :rotfl2:

I can't believe those crazy ladies on Kali, telling a total stranger not to put their bag away. Like you intentionally wanted to ruin their bags or something. :confused3 Yeesh.

I bet that safari adventure would have been a lott cooler if it wasn't a million degrees out.

Don't feel bad about Dinosaur, that rides freaks me out every single time. Those loud noises mixed with the jerky vehicle and the huge animatronics in your face makes it really, really intense. There's no way I'd ever take a young kid on that.

I am finally all caught up. SERIOUSLY, NO ONE'S TR MAKES ME LAUGH AS HARD AS YOURS. I love you because you seem to notice the little things like I do. Like the FISH KILLING CHILD IN NORWAY!

Oh my God, your story about the lizard voice had me CACKLING. That would so happen to me, you have no idea. I hope someday we're in Disney at the same time because I have a feeling it would be a riot.

L M A O the evil sun you drew in your journal. Your drawings are the best thing I have seen since Van Gogh.

You saw a MONGOOSE in Epcot? WHAT? That would be crazy if it was really a mongoose. HMM I wonder what it was!

Uggghh Chilis. Yeah not the best quality of food out there. We have one right outside of our development and my mom likes to get the plain chips and salsa but I actually hate even their chips. The chips are greasy without even having anything on them... it's really gross. It's dog food compared to the food at the Mexican pavilion!

HIT ME WITH YOUR PET SHARK! Wow, what rude ladies! I can't believe anyone could be that morose in Disney, it's crazy. Why even pay the money to come if you're going to be like THAT?

Oh man I loved the Babysitter's Club but I didn't even KNOW there was a book where they went to Disney! Now I really want to read it while sitting on a bench and drinking a flat lemonade.

Dead @ you asking to ride in that guy's truck so that you can find your car. Your just crack me up so much :rotfl2:

Can't wait for more! I will keep up this time!! :moped:

Oh you're right, he won't forget that ride in a hurry! He was so uncomfortable the poor awkward thing!! I seriously don't blame him for making a break for it while he had the chance. Crazy screaming bag lady on Everest may have made him ride again!

And to think those people on Kali actually gave you a couple of stories as a result of their rudeness. They were sent...sent to help you with your trip report. ::yes::

That is a great way to look at it!! Yes they were definitely sent to us from the trip writing gods to ensure we had enough weird interactions with crazies to fill up a trip report! Thank you oh great and merciful trip report gods!

Ahhh I love it!! I want to come over and listen to your whole family talk nonstop! :rotfl: I honestly love how drawn out words are over there! Here we seem to talk really fast too and blend all our words into one so it makes it even better!

I can't believe those crazy ladies on Kali, telling a total stranger not to put their bag away. Like you intentionally wanted to ruin their bags or something. :confused3 Yeesh.

Ugh I know! They were such princesses, and not in a good way. The way they looked at us is like Tim had asked if he could wipe his nose on their shirts or something. Such disbelief and disgust.

I bet that safari adventure would have been a lott cooler if it wasn't a million degrees out.

I know! I always thought I could handle hummidity really well until I went to Florida in summer. It's so insane I couldn't even think straight. Such a baby, I know!

Don't feel bad about Dinosaur, that rides freaks me out every single time. Those loud noises mixed with the jerky vehicle and the huge animatronics in your face makes it really, really intense. There's no way I'd ever take a young kid on that.

It's so loud and dark and scary!!!! I always look at the kids in the line and think how much braver they are then I will ever be :rotfl2:

I am finally all caught up. SERIOUSLY, NO ONE'S TR MAKES ME LAUGH AS HARD AS YOURS. I love you because you seem to notice the little things like I do. Like the FISH KILLING CHILD IN NORWAY!

YAYYY!!! Hellooo my friend!!! Seriously that is such a massive compliment because I freakin love everything you write and you have me in stitches every time I read your trip reports!!!

Fish killing kid is SO SCARY!!! He seriously makes me shudder and avoid eye contact...even though he is just a mural.

Oh my God, your story about the lizard voice had me CACKLING. That would so happen to me, you have no idea. I hope someday we're in Disney at the same time because I have a feeling it would be a riot.

Ahhhhh it was so awkward!!! That man will ALWAYS think I talk like a lizard forever and ever...amen.
Yes please!! I can't even imagine the hilarious situations!! Lock it in eddie!

L M A O the evil sun you drew in your journal. Your drawings are the best thing I have seen since Van Gogh.

Yes.This is art people, you had better recognise. It's a bit sad though because that is the end of the notes that day, no more information, just evil suns and pictures of myself melting...

You saw a MONGOOSE in Epcot? WHAT? That would be crazy if it was really a mongoose. HMM I wonder what it was!

Ok ok so now I'm back to thinking it WAS a mongoose because there is nothing else it looks like at all!!!! The others saw it too!! I'm not crazy I swear!!!

Blerrggghhh! It was THE most disgusting meal ever!!! Serious food regret that night!!! And with the Disney property being so close!!! Ugh I'm ashamed of my choices. What the heck was I thinking :confused3 Although my food choices get even worse on our roadtrip home..

HIT ME WITH YOUR PET SHARK! Wow, what rude ladies! I can't believe anyone could be that morose in Disney, it's crazy. Why even pay the money to come if you're going to be like THAT?

I KNOW!!! Seriously go home and change out of those cranky pants you crazy ladies! Some people look so miserable at WDW, I can't even begin to imagine how much fun they have in their day to day lives!

Oh man I loved the Babysitter's Club but I didn't even KNOW there was a book where they went to Disney! Now I really want to read it while sitting on a bench and drinking a flat lemonade.

GO FIND IT NOW!!! And if you can't I will send you one of my many copies (my sister and I were not great at sharing our BSC books which meant we ended up with multiple copies of each) because you need it in your life!! :rotfl:

Dead @ you asking to ride in that guy's truck so that you can find your car. Your just crack me up so much :rotfl2:

He looked like he wanted to say no and drive away... but I was already in!

Can't wait for more! I will keep up this time!! :moped:

Huzzahhhh! Next chapter up shortlyyyyyy!

omg I think you should totally be paid to go to WDW n write reports because they r freakin hilarious I'm dying laughing like crying laughing, this was an awesome update keep em comin girl!!!:lmao:

Your trip report is HYSTERICAL! I'm majorly impressed that you thought driving across the country non-stop would be an excellent and fantastic idea - what an adventure!

I am most certainly in. :thumbsup2

(Plus, you mentioned The Baby-Sitters Club - BEST. YOUTH. SERIES. EVER.)

Haha you're too funny! But yes! This is clearly what I need to be doing with my life, none of this real job nonsense! Probably need to live slightly closer to make this a reality :rotfl:

YAYY!! Welcome aboard!! Awhhh thank you so much!!! Haha is it impressive? I always thought it was a bit naive and daft to think it was a good idea :rotfl: It WAS an adventure though, to say the least!!

YES BSC was/is amazing!!! I'm pretty sure I tried to start one a few times when I was into the series. HOWEVER in real life people are less trusting when an 11 year old wants to look after their child for extended periods of time....

Mini Real Life Update
Well 2013 is well and truly in full swing now and I hope you're all enjoying it thus far. I'm excited for this year and ready for all it has to offer and all that has happened so far. I really really like reading other peoples real life updates so I thought I would pop one in before this chapter gets a rollin.

A few exciting things have happened lately, the first being that my sister Alison

sissy_zps64a8af26.jpg

has just been offered a promotion in London! So she is moving there with my brother in law for 2 years which is so exciting for them!! This means that we are moving into their really nice almost new house for a great price YAY and looking after their two cats DOUBLE YAY! AND I definitely see a trip to Euro Disney happening within the next 6-8 months...TRIPLE YAY!!!!
In other fun news, I auditioned for the musical The Wedding Singer and just found out I made it in. It should be fun and the cast already seem really lovely and great to work with and it will be really good to just be performing again as I have really missed it!

In smaller news...Bek and I found the best fancy chocolate shop ever... and now we live there.
choc_zps46b1028a.jpeg

And I also bought an $8 Full House shirt which has pretty much made my life complete.

Hope everyone had a great January, and that your February is even better!

Chapter 14

Breakdown City And Another Old Man Friend To Add To The List

Yay we made it!

Hollywood da da da da da da da Hollywood!

IMG_3880_zps7d7ad2c0.jpg

I love Hollywood Studios so much! They colour scheme is so perfect and there is so many palm trees!!! Palm trees seriously take me to my happy place. Well I mean Disney is already my happy place, palm trees just take it all up a notch.

IMG_3883_zpsc5ae0f90.jpg

LOOK AT ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL PALM TREES!!!! I want to hug them all!

After admiring the wonder that is palm trees for a good few minutes we went off to find some food and ended up at Pizza Planet!
Sorry no pictures but you can all use those wonderful imaginations that you possess to pictures some delicious pizza images.

After getting sufficiently stuffed with pizza we went to starring rolls so I could make Bek eat the red velvet cupcake and give me a detailed run down of exactly how each mouthful was. Yes, I really do make people eat the foods I can't eat and give me a full review so I can picture it - what a fun friend I am to have.
She was very satisfied and gave it two thumbs up.

IMG_3965_zpsd78600bb.jpg

I got myself an iced coffee at this stage because... well I love coffee and it seemed like it would cool me down a little.

IMG_3969_zps85c977df.jpg

Unfortunately it tasted like brown water....
I am pretty excited for the Starbucks to come in future trips I must say. Disney does so many things amazingly but coffee is really not one of them.

Next it was time to hit some rides so we headed up to Tot to experience one of the best rides of all time.

IMG_3950_zpsda6ea260.jpg

Gosh I love this ride! I absolutely love the Twighlight Zone show and I just think that Disney really took an incredible idea and made it the most perfectly themed ride ever! Pure Disney perfection in my eyes and I seriously can never ride it enough!

IMG_3958_zpsb5e3345d.jpg

We didn’t have to wait too long luckily and soon we were seated in our lift ready to head to our rooms….what could possibly go wrong?
Now I had Tim on one side of me an a stranger on the other side

Josh was sitting this one out….
I know I know, he is not a fan of thrill rides at the best of times, let alone after the week her had. I should mention that a few days before we left for our roadtrip Josh managed to fall off his skateboard and graze his arms and legs to an extenive degree. THen the day before the trip his mum asked us to help weed and clean up this back part of the yard and somehow Josh got a whole arm covered in poison ivy. It was NOT his week.

Anyway so I was sitting between Tim and an older man who was by himself and somehow in that first drop I got a bit more of a fright than I was expecting as I was more used to the California version and so in anticipation I closed my eyes, grabbed onto Tim and screamed!
....Except I had somehow forgotton that Tim was on the other side so when I opened my eyes I was clinging onto the knee of an embarrassed looking strange man. Whoops!!
I tried to shout sorry but I don’t think he heard. Whoops.
The rest of the ride I kept my hands to myself and did not touch any more strangers inappropriately.
I apologized again when the lift stopped and the lights came on and the man just laughed and said that I have quite the grip.
Oh Tower of Terror, forming friendships through stranger knee grabbing since 1939...

When we checked the photo it was pretty hilarious as I was shutting my eyes and the man next to me was just looking at me with some ‘get this girl off me’ kind of body language. Which made it the second time that day that a stranger had given me that look although this old man didn't bolt away from me like the awkward teenage boy so we both got to have a chuckle at the picture. Alas I didn’t buy it which I really regret because it would have been a great keepsake. Actually I don’t take photos of the screen because I got yelled at a few years ago quite intensely by this really scary guy at six flags after doing it once and it sort of scared me. I know that Disney generally turn a blind eye but yeah I’m still too chicken after that incident.

Next we headed over to Rockin Rollercoaster for some 0-90 thrills with our good friends Aerosmith. The line was quite long for some reason so we decided to split up and do single rider rather than wait it out.
I love the preshow!
My friend who works down there got to be the guitar handing guy for a while a few months ago which I thought was pretty cool. Do they still have someone doing that? In September they didn’t have anyone doing it at all the few times we rode.
We worked our way through the line and all got on the same train with different families. I was seated mext to a guy named Sam and he was from Alabama and super chatty. He introduced me to his wife and kid who were sitting behind us and managed to give me a quick life summary in the time it took to move from the loading area to the launching area. He told me Aerosmith was one of his top bands of all time and his band covered a lot of their songs, he told me a LOT more about his life but I wasn’t paying that much attention as I was a little pre occupied with the task at hand, which was of course gearing myself up for the launch. He had a baseball cap on and when the countdown was about to start I asked him if he was going to take it off (this is primarily because I didn't want to get hit by his hat while were speeding through that crazy LA traffic)

‘Nah man, never have taken it off, never will’

His words not mine.

I’m not sure what that actually meant…
Did it mean he never it took it off for RnR? Or just never took it off in…well… life? Looking at him it was hard to tell. I can totally picture him as someone who quite literallly never took his hat off... ever
Oh well, I’ll never know as there wasn't really time to milk him for a more solid hat wearing schedule.
The countdown started and he swung his hat around so it was facing backwards and he proceeded to ‘rock out’ for the whole ride. He went into some sort of rock and roll trace and was screaming and making the metal sign with both hand while headbanging as much as much as one can in a tightly harnassed rollercoaster.

DoodleBuddyiPad-6_zps8cd7a39e.png

Yep. That was my new friend Sam and he was quite the character.

Seriously, single rider lines have introduced me to some of the craziest characters on some of the most entertaining rides ever!

We parted ways and I met up with the others in the gift shop for a debrief of the ride. They had pretty fun families too from memory, but no metal signs.

After this we caught the parade going past which is always fun!
Being the awesome photographer I am, I took one photo which doesn't even show a whole float. Go Sally Go!
IMG_3964_zps99edf89b.jpg

We went on the Great Movie Ride after the parade as it was still ridiculously hot
and we needed somewhere that we could sit in the air for a while.

IMG_3898_zps85feb713.jpg

Now I love The Great Movie Ride a lot, don't get me wrong. But I find the whole thing a little eerie. I mean take those munchkins for instance, something seems really creepy about them. How their little beady eyes seem to follow you and their hard little plastic expressionless faces.

Ok maybe it's just me. The Wizard of Oz really scared me as a kid and maybe a part of me never got over that.

After GMR we hit a time of the day that we fondly refer to as 'breakdown hour' this is where every second child seems to have hit their wall and they need their parents and everyone else in the park to know about it. This can involve, but is not limited to, screaming, crying, kicking, yelling, hitting, biting, throwing food on the ground, throwing toys on the ground and of course the classic throwing themselves on the ground.

It's mayhem!!

It's a war zone!!

You're dodging children here and there who are sprawled all over the ground in their overly dramatic protests.
Everywhere you look there is children screaming, crying and demanding attention.
You see the reasoning parents trying to break through this meltdown with a calm and rational approach, you see the parents who are ignoring their child's little attention seeking show, you see the parents who are bribing their kid with the closest Mickey bar or treat and of course you see the parents whose tantrum is even worse than the kids.

We really didn't blame the kids, or the parents.
It was still over 100 and humid as humid can be and everyone had been up all day in 'go go go' mode.
Before any of us has a meltdown on the concrete we decided to head out of the parks back to the house for a swim but not before we did one more thing...

Next up: Jeans Are A Fantastic Choice And The Stupidest Map Reading Error Of All Time!!

Loving the updates! Congrats on the Wedding Singer!

ToT is the most perfectly themed ride ever. Just so, so well done. Laughing so hard imagining you grabbing onto that strange man.

And your seatmate on RnRC. Huh. You really have all the luck don't you? I wonder if his baseball cap wearing is a nod to 91/2 weeks? Makes you think a little differently about his wife huh? :rotfl:

You're knew friend Sam the metal man ,could easily be any 3 out of 5 brothers of mine LOL,They get so annoyed that I make jokes about their "rah rah kill ur mother eat ur grandpas " music and I refer to them as metallicaheads(kinda odd considering I actually do like some metallica songs) and they r not as screamy as Korn ,but I totally pictured them when reading that post.

Great post as always!!

Agree about the creepy ness of the Munchkins! We were on the second to last row of the vehicles and got temporarily stopped for a minute. After the 'Yellow Brick Road' song finished and all of the Munchkins silently lowered down into their hiding positions again. So creepy!

The book is 'Babysitters on Board'. Super Special #1
They were on a split cruise/WDW vacation.
This was back before the Disney Cruise Line. Disney used to be in partnership with Premier Cruise Line.

I just sat down and read this whole report in one sitting. Love your drawings! You are hilarious. I can't wait to read the rest!

Great update! I bet that guy on ToT had fun telling everyone about the girl who grabbed his knee! :lmao:

And how to even touch on the awesomeness of your new friend Sam?! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: You really do have the best single rider stories!! I was waiting for you to say his hat flew off and hit his wife in the face!

A great chapter, as always, Sally!

Congrats on your sister's promotion and all of the great things that means for you. :thumbsup2 I hope we'll get a Euro-Disney trip report out of the deal!

And I also bought an $8 Full House shirt which has pretty much made my life complete.
photo-27_zps2268efea.jpg

In that case, you'll want to pay close attention to my trip report. :rolleyes1 But unfortunately, the event I'm referring to is still a few days off in trip-reporting time, which means it'll probably be July before I get to posting it, at the rate I'm going.

I love Hollywood Studios so much! They colour scheme is so perfect and there is so many palm trees!!!

And they do fit in better there than at Epcot's Future World or Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland, in my opinion.

Do you also pay for the food since it was your idea that they eat it? If so, you're a dream date.

Whoops!!

Love it! :lmao:

I apologized again when the lift stopped and the lights came on and the man just laughed and said that I have quite the grip.

Great response from that guy! :rotfl:

When we checked the photo it was pretty hilarious as I was shutting my eyes and the man next to me was just looking at me with some ‘get this girl off me’ kind of body language. Dang, I would've loved to have seen that.

Your drawings are great! It's like I was there! :rotfl2:

Seriously, single rider lines have introduced me to some of the craziest characters on some of the most entertaining rides ever!

That's interesting....I read trip reports from a teenaged kid on Expedition Everest and an older guy on Tower of Terror who said exactly the same thing!
