Thank you so much for the photos and information on this post. Makes me very excited! I just booked the two bedroom villa at Beach Club for Nov 7-12. (Still hoping a pin comes out though! :hyper:) But these photos are making me happy with my choice. We have never stayed on the Boardwalk so this is bound to be a real treat. Hubby is going to run the half marathon that weekend so I am excited to be right there in the action of that and F&W festival. (We have never been to F&W either!) A lot of firsts. :thumbsup2

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

.

Sorry to say this, but please take us off the BOG list. We were originally booked for July 15-18 at YC, but we changed our cruise dates and are considering a few other resorts for our pre-cruise stay.

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

I'm happy to tell you that our dates for the yacht club are September 12-18...this is a great thread!!!:cool1:

Passed by Hurricane Hannas on the way back to our room from Hollywood Studios. Tthey are currently doing a practice run for cast members only. Official opening is Tuesday. One new item that caught my eye is lobster and shrimp roll! Will try to get a pic of the new menu later.

Greetings, all! My husband, 7-year old daughter and I will be staying at BC for the first time March 24-28, part of a WDW/baseball spring training trip. I can't thank all of you enough for the information and insights you capture in this thread -- we've stayed at CR for our 3 other trips as we always traveled in winter, but have always wanted to try BC if we could swing a trip when it's warmer.

A question for the parents on this thread -- my husband will be joining us a few days into our trip, so I'll be solo with my daughter while she enjoys SAB for the first time. Is there's particular place that you'd recommend a parent sit/stand to keep an eye on her while she likely rides the Jib slide over and over and over again? I'm not worried about her safety in the pool when she zooms in coming off of the slide, but I'm a bit nervous about her needing to repeatedly cross a public walkway for the entry to the slide, and thought I'd try to park myself somewhere where I could keep an eye on her as she crosses the walkway and gets to the entry for the slide again.

Thanks very much for any thoughts you can share based on your previous experiences!

I'm drooling!!! Hurry up Saturday - i know where I'm having lunch!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thank you for posting so much info on this page! It's been very helpful in my daydreaming! I can't wait for our stay September 6-14. Beach Club Villas studio on rented DVC points. Please add me to the BOG list. Thanks!

:wave2: Hello. We will be staying at the BCV from 8 Aug to 18 Aug.

We are me, DH and 2 DD's (12 & 8).

We are so excited to be returning there again this summer. We usually stay CL but opted for a 1 bedroom villa instead this time. The price was exactly the same for a 1BV as a regular CL room. We will be celebrating my husband's return from a 9 month deployment in Afghanistan so the extra space will be nice. We stayed CL for 9 nights last year and we enjoyed it. I feel like the CM's are hit or miss as with anywhere. The offerings don't work great for our family as my DH is the only one who actually eats the food. The offerings are fine it is just that my DD's and I are super picky, lol. We have not stayed on the villa side before but looking forward to the extra space, the washer and dryer and the full kitchen. I don't love that my daughters won't have a "real" bed but they will do just fine on the pull out and will love having a "space of their own" at night. I have considered bringing a blow up matress with us also but we will figure that out later.

We will be in Orlando for 5 nights prior to WDW so it will be nice to do laundry and stuff when getting to BC after 5 hot days in the FL sun.

We are driving so it will make stocking the kitchen very easy. What I can't bring with us we will stop and buy at the store on the way to BC after Sea World and Universal.

If anyone has any tips on the villas, what to pack, etc I would really apprieciate it!!

Can't wait to see pics of the new Hurrican Hana's menu. If there is one thing I think the BC is lacking is QS food (and the bus system but that is :offtopic:).

Does anyone know if a milkshake is a snack credit at the take out window of Beaches and Cream? Allears has it as a snack but others don't list it as a snack. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this?

Also, this may have been brought up already but how will they handle entrance to SAB with the new MagicBands? If there is no room key just wondering how it will be. I am super excited for the MagicBands! :) I am hoping that there is a way to scan in to SAB. It would really cut down on all of those who spend their weekend there and are not staying at the hotel. The locals who just look at the wristband color for the day and just spend the day in the pool. It frustrates me how busy the pool is on Sat and Sun yet room occupancy is relativly the same the other days of the week. I am really hoping the MagicBands help with all of this! I know Disney does their best but I think the wristbands should be printed with the hotel's name (as Aulani does it) so the wristbands for SAB can't just be purchased at the local party store. Sorry, I am off my soapbox now...lol

The walkway that they have to cross to get to the slide doesn't usually have a lot of people on it. It is mostly the people who are staying in one of the resorts on the Boardwalk. If you position yourself in one of the beach chairs that is in the sight line of both the pool and the slide, you'll be able to watch her part of the way. Here is a picture from the first page.

I love the BCV and would take a one bedroom villa over CL any day of the week. I love the full kitchen, washer/dryer, whirlpool bathtub, and separate living room. I think your daughters will be fine on the sofa bed. We've had our teenage kids on it and they never complained. It's Disney, after all. And they'll love their own space. :thumbsup2
If anyone has any tips on the villas, what to pack, etc I would really appreciate it!!
The first thing I pack for a stay at the villas is some coffee and paper coffee filters. I believe that they still have the standard 12 cup coffee pot with the basket filter. It is easy to forget coffee filters when you are packing. I love being able to get a pot of "real" coffee ready in the morning instead of having to run out for a cup of NesCafe. ;) The other thing I pack is some laundry detergent. I don't bring a whole bottle, just enough for a few loads of laundry. I usually can grab some sugar, butter, salt and pepper from the marketplace or one of the restaurants.

Yeah! Glad to hear that your teens were fine on the pull out. Thanks for the tip on the coffee and coffee filters! I am adding them to my list now. :)

Sorry to keep bombarding this thread with questions, I'm so amped for our stay at YC! I'm not sure if anyone would even be able to answer, but I'll give it a try. We were unable to get a garden view with the discount we used, so we opted for a standard view. We REALLY want a nice view since we do use the balconey often. We will be getting to the hotel early (if that helps...?). If we ask for a 'nice' view (even if it means a paid upgrade) will we have a good chance of getting it? Thanks for any insight :thumbsup2

You can ask for a "nice view" and hope for some chance of an upgrade, but you should expect that it is just a request, and not something they are guaranteed to fulfill.

I can tell you that we were at YC in March and loved our view. We wanted GV but it wasn't available, so we had to settle for the standard view. There are so many trees on the property, that even when you overlook the parking lot, it is still pretty. When you are seated on the balcony and look out, you see the trees. The added bonus of the YC SV, is that you may also have a nice view of Wishes.

Here are some links to our standard view pics from my trip report.

I've seen some fireworks from the BC/YC area. They are in the opposite direction to Epcot. They are pretty far away. I've never been 100% sure if they were from MK or if some other local area had fireworks.

Travel safe, Sue! Hope you have a great time! Please warm up the weather in Florida for us - we're arriving next Saturday! :)

So far it's pretty pleasant. We landed last night around 10:30. Today was sunny, partly cloudy but nice and warm. That's in Lauderdale. Hopefully the weather will be as nice in Orlando. Driving up Wednesday. Wishing you a safe trip down. :goodvibes

I hope you have a great time! Florida tonight sounds perfect. :goodvibes
Thank you!! A bit jet lagged today. Have a full day visiting various family tomorrow.
