A Magical 4 night Cruise- 4/12/2013

I'm not sure we are going to enjoy Cozumel or stay in the pool. Traveling with a 2 yo, a 6yo and a pregnant woman (that's me, just found out after we booked the cruise) seems better for us to stay.

Anybody Pregnant around here?! Or anybody has been pregnant in a cruise before? Advice people! I need tips :)

Also, I'm not sure if we are telling our kids we are going on a cruise or wait until we are there! Do you think that's going to be too much of a surprise?

I love staying onboard while everyone gets off the ship. I had the adult pool all to myself for 40 minutes. Loved it. pirate: Sherry

I think we're just gonna catch a cab to paradise beach for a few hours. It's about 20 bucks each way and $2 per person at the beach. My kids really love the beach, but we definitely won't stay all day.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeep! My DH and I went on a cruise with some other couples a few years ago and bing-bang-boom I got pregnant before we sailed. I was about 8 weeks by the time we cruised, but luckily I never had morning sickness/nausea so that wasn't a problem while on the ship.

It might be fun to surprise at that age. My one and only experience with surprising my DD's was a mixed bag. It was fun because they were REALLY surprised but it was to WDW and we had been there so much I knew where they would want to stay, eat etc.
On the other hand, I kinda missed sharing the planning with them.
My DH and I thought about surprising the girls on this cruise but they need to get and do their missed school work ahead of time so it would not have worked anyway.
In early Dec we had to go to Houston for my DD's Lacrosse tournament and I told them that I would have loved surprising them and taking them right to the port but it was not going to happen. Little did we know we would be cruising out of there anyway 5 months later. Woo Hoo!!

I am just finishing my Fe gifts and door decorations for my Febr 1st cruise. I just wanted to remind everyone that Disney has really gotten picky about things that go on your door. Magnets only, no tape or sticky tack. Sherry

I need a tutorial that calls for glue gun, super glue, or elmer's glue. :rotfl2: She lost me at "sew"
This will only be the second time I've used my seeing machine, so I'm not hoping for much. I bought scarp remnants at wal-mart and spent about 10 bucks not including the dowel rod. I'm not the least bit crafty, so We shall see

I have one for my room ( which I bought on Etsy) but I am going to try and make one for my daughters stateroom. I think I am looking for an easy one where I can avoid sewing. :rotfl2: Sherry

Do you have an Ikea where you live? If so, search the DISboards for "Ikea FE" for info on an inexpensive, ready-made no-sew FE. You just have to add decorations to it . (I would post the link here, but I can't figure out how to from my Kindle - Sorry :confused3)

The irony. I just ran across that post (or a similar one with the same organizer) today. I just may swing past Ikea tomorrow and see if I can find it.

Thanks!

Wow thanks for the tip. I will head over to Ikea tomorrow. I would rather not attempt a project like that. Sherry

m&m's mom - I saw your post about you having an interesting fact that helped your kids be able to miss school for this cruise. I would PM about it, but I don't have enough posts yet . Would you mind e-mailing me at amy @ bullfrogsandbutterfliesboutique.com if you don't want to share on the board. [You will have to remove the spaces from my e-mail address as again I do not have enough posts to post an e-mail address  ]

I am interested to know as we already had our kids out of school for 5 days in December when we sailed on the Magic. We weren't given a hard time about it at all (absences were considered unexcused) and the kids were able to make up missed work (actually my DD didn't have to make up any missed work). They have each missed 1 day of school due to illness. According to how I understand our school district's policy (Plano), they can miss up to 10% of the school days in a year (which would be 17.9 days for both excused and unexcused absences which we are still well below at a total of 9 after this cruise) and still receive credit for their classes. Over that amount and the teachers/school can deny them credit for their classes. However, I am still uncertain about whether or not the teachers can deny a student the opportunity to make up missed work which could be a problem. Both of my kids are excellent students and the teachers were very understanding last time, so I am hoping they will be as understanding this time as well

TexasCamps - I just looked at your etsy shop (I don't know how I missed that before)...you have some CUTE stuff!!!!

The Disney Magic was named the No. 1 Large Cruise Ship by Conde Nast Traveler readers. :cheer2:

I can't post the link here as I don't have enough posts yet :( but there is a thread about it on the DISboards.

Woo Hoo! Makes me even more excited to go back. :cool1:
