Use of disney gift cards on airfare

If you buy airfare directly from ABD can you use disney gift cards to pay for that part of the trip?

I've used Disney Visa Rewards points to pay for my trip, and was never questioned as to what part of the trip that went towards. So if they accept Disney Visa Rewards points, I'd assume they'd accept Disney Gift Cards, too. But, again, that's just a guess. I'd call ABD to make sure!

I'm looking at Australia for 2015 with my roommate. Gotta save up now because of how expensive it is and then book early as soon as they release it to get the best rate.
