I'll be doing the 5 night repositioning cruise in September. What do you think is the best dining room to be in for pirate night and why? Thanks in advance :)

We've always just gone with the rotation given us. We've had pirate night (as well as formal nights) in all the MDRs on the classic ships.

We prefer to go to Palo on Pirate Night. We're not fans of the menu that night and can do without the pirate antics.

Agree with this.

Us too! The pirate menu is not our favorite so we love to do Palo instead ! You can still have time for the deck parties and fireworks! :)

What we did not realize is that there are buffet tables set up throughout AFTER dinner so if you have any interest in trying that fare you should eat lightly at dinner. When we went up to the pirate party to watch the fireworks, we could not believe they were trying to feed us again and we had the early dinner rotation.

But I am with the other posters. Just go with the rotation they give you. Trying to control one aspect may make other aspects change in ways you don't want. Disney Cruise line is really good at making it a really wonderful experience for all no matter what restaurant you go to.

Cruising without kids = Palo, unless you are really into the pirate thing.

Cruising with kids = Animator's Palette. The black & white walls with the colorful pirate costumes make for some really cool pictures.

I'm guessing you're doing the Vancouver to LA cruise on the Wonder? If so, have a great time in SF!

does every cruise have a pirate night? Im doing 14 nights PC in May
thanks

I believe so.

People really run the gamete here from not participating, just pirate themed t-shirts to completely in costume and theme.

You decide your level of participation. We went for matching pirate mickey shirts for the five of us. We were on the cruise during Halloween so our interest in completely getting in costume was low since we already had a night of that.

Does every cruise have Pirate Night? We are going on a 3 day cruise aboard the Dream to the Bahamas. Our boys are 4 and 6 and will totally love this! Can you choose which restaurant you eat at during Pirate night?

Yup, your cruise will have a Pirate Night. You dine in whatever restaurant you are assigned in your rotation. They will all be serving the same thing.

We were in Animator's Palette for Pirates Night on our first cruise and Enchanted Garden for our second and didn't see much difference. I don't feel that it's worth the effort to request a particular dining room for Pirates Night. We just had a ERAERAE rotation for our Jan. 12 cruise on the Fantasy and liked the idea that we were in the Royal court for formal night, however we would not request in the future.

Every DCL cruise has a Pirate night. Only difference is the Alaska cruises doesn't have fireworks.

On the 3 night cruise there is no Pirate menu on Pirate night.

You eat in whatever MDR you are scheduled for on your rotation.

What is the menu for Pirate Night? What day of the cruise does it usually fall on? I'm also on the Wonder California Repo cruise.

Many wonderful posters have written trip reports and included the menu. The one I most recently noticed was "From Reality to Fantasy". She did a fantastic job with her report and I know she took a picture of the menu for that night. So if you take some time to scroll through her report you will find it.

Generally speaking, it seems to fall on the fifth night on the 7 night cruises. But Disney does send you a schedule as you near the sail date.

Thank you!!! It's weird, we did the repositioning cruise two years ago (same cruise except that time it was 7 nights, wish it still was), and DCL didn't send us any kind of schedule at all. It was really disconcerting because we felt like we were going in blind. That was, in fact, one of our biggest complaints of the trip. Maybe we just got skipped? On Pirate Night, we couldn't figure out why people were walking around dressed like pirates--no clue that it would be happening. We were bummed because it's our kind of thing but we had already booked Palo for the night. I'm hoping to book Palo on a different night because we don't want to miss it this time. Especially because DS is REALLY into Jake and the Neverland Pirates and I think I can convince my MIL to sew some pirate vests for both kids.
