Totally utterly hillarious!
Love it!

AGGGGHHHHHHomg i almost peed my freakin pantsURE BACK!!!!!!!!bahaha I love the old man on the bench too funny!OMg YIKES!!!!He lives in my province ha even better!Oh Sally ure so silly I've missed you, don't you ever dare ;leave these boards for spo long again it's just not the same without your antics LOL

Just found this TR and love it! You had an interesting road trip to say the least! :rotfl:

I just about spit my coffee out on the part about the creepy fish boy on Maelstrom! I know exactly where he is on that big mural.

Happy belated birthday! Ahhhh I'm so sorry about your ankle!!! :headache:

Ahhh thanks!!! I'm always hurting myself somehow so it's all good.
At least someone captured the fall on film so it's all worth it:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness. I would honestly be terrified of those old Mission: SPACE loving folks. I'd probably cry or something. THEN THEY'D BE SORRY.

You're too funny:rotfl:!!! YES!!! ...crying is how we will bring them down!! TAKE THAT OVERLY ENTHUSIASTIC ELDERLY COUPLE!!!

Your stories never fail to crack me up!!! :lmao: WHAT? What the heck is a mongoose?! I honestly have never seen one!

Ok well now you're the second person to say that...so maybe I'm wrong and google has mislead me. Does Florida have any other animals that look exactly like that and roam freely in the Epcot parking lot???

Wow, those people on Mission Space. Don't get me wrong, I get into the rides, but not to the extent that they did. :lmao: I could just see them freaking out at you for not pushing the button....

It was crazy!! I was actually scared for my life. So much intensity in such a small enclosed space!! It's ok my friends, it's not real...

I don't think I've ever noticed the gut-fishing boy on Maelstorm before! :scratchin I've been on that ride a million times; I can't believe something like that has passed me by. Where's he at???

You have to look for him next time!! So creepy!! He is in the big mural when you are boarding...seriously can't miss him once you know he is there. Gahhhh just don't look into his eyes...

I can't blame you for skipping IllumiNations and going back to the house. It can get so hot in Disney.

I know! It's crazy!! Especially walking around World Showcase despite how much I love it, it seriously makes me melt into a puddle of tears and sweat sometimes.

I am thinking that your headware was rather fabulous actually and not ridiculous at all.

Awh thanks!!! I wore it for pretty much the whole week. Needed to get my $6.75 worth from it.

Poor Josh and Club Cool, I feel ill just thinking about all that sugar in that heat. And then not being able to find the car.

Yeah, he was not in a good way at all poor boy.
But at least he learnt his lesson about chugging copious amounts of foreign soda on days over 100 degrees.

UGH.

Nice lizard speaking moment. Way to roll with it though!

Haha thanks, totally putting down lizard whisperer on my CV from now on...

Dead guppy. Ick.

I know, what would Walt think...

OKAY SO! I was scrolling up to read your latest update, and I came across the photo of the creepy fish-gutting child and immediately thought, "OMG, if she even brings up how creepy this little boy is gutting the fish with that smile on my face, I will die." Main reason is because I ALWAYS point that out when we go on Maelstrom! Sure enough, you did and so basically that just makes you awesome and yeah, I just had to share that with you.

YAYYY!!! It's seriously the first thing I think of when I think of Maelstrom!!!
YOU my friend are awesome for fully appreciating creepy fish gutting boy!

Like, I showed it to Matt (my husband) and he laughed.

High fives for Matt!!

ANYWAY.

Um, I'm literally laughing out loud over here to the point of tears about the old couple screaming at you on Mission Space. Like, I just can't even imagine what I would do in that situation!

I didn't know what to do!! What can one do when that happens??
You can't smile and slowly back away when you're stuck in a pod!!

OH SCHOOL BREAD. My favorite Disney snack. It's so magical.

And now I'm sad because you can't eat it. Wompwomp.

So sad!!! I totally make people eat things in front of me and describe them to me in detail when I can't have them. A bit weird but it takes away some of the pain :rotfl:

Still laughing at the Maelstrom boy. I for some reason thought I was the only person who noticed him and his creepiness. Matt always points out the ridiculousness of a cruise director being on the mural. Like clearly, that cruise director is going to make you REALLY want to visit Norway. I don't really understand that mural, the more I think about it.

Yay lets talk about him some more!! Why is he enjoying gutting the fish so much?? What is he thinking behind those cold soul-less eyes?? Why can't he be more like his serious cutting friend next to him?
Gah I've never noticed the cruise director, too busy with fish gutting boy but it sounds like some very silly placement!!
THE MURAL MAKES NO SENSE!!!

Hahaha your dead fish photo, nooooo. Why are the most ridiculous things happening on this trip? It's kind of amazing... Okay that sounded way worse than I meant it... Dead fish aren't amazing.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: This is my favourite paragraph ever!!!

Nope, things just get more hilarious with your friend John in Ontario. It just never ends.

I love new friends, especially the onces I make while trying to converse with lizards...favourites!

I can't watch the guy in France; I get so nervous something will go wrong and he will fall to his death. I just can't handle it and basically run away.

Yeah I'm a bit like that but he is so tiny and light that I am sure if he started to fall I could spring into action and catch him with one hand.

Ok that was a lie... all lies. But he is pretty freakin small!

Can't wait to hear your next update. Obviously I sang "HIT ME WITH YOUR PET SHARK!" over here.

It's probably my favourite mis-heard lyric to belt out EVER!

YAYYY WELCOME!!
Thanks for joining! I love your TR because I was a nanny for the same family for 8 years and know how amazing that connection can be :goodvibes

Oh no! I didn't update soon, I did the opposite and went away on holidays BUT I'm back and will now update soon...

AWhhhhh! You're too sweet!! Yes I'm back and back for good this time.
No more leaving you stranded I promise :rotfl:
THe old man was so nice! I love accidental disney friends!!

Just found this TR and love it! You had an interesting road trip to say the least! :rotfl:

Yayyy! Welcome!!!
I know it was crazy!! And the way back was pretty insane too!!

I just about spit my coffee out on the part about the creepy fish boy on Maelstrom! I know exactly where he is on that big mural.

Isn't he the creepiest?? Why on earth is he so happy to be gutting???
Seriously horror movie material right there!!

Hello my friends!!

Now this is the part where I should post a big drawn out apology about my absence and all the things that have filled it and prevented me from updating but alas I don’t have any really good excuse for being the slacker that I have been except for the fact it was the busy Christmas season and then I was away.

See? Pathetic, I know!! But I am sorry…forgiven? Friends again? Great! Lets get on with the show!

Chapter 12
Making Enemies along the Kali River and Hit Me With Your Pet Shark

When we last left off we had crossed paths with an adorable mongoose enjoying his day in Epcot.

EDIT: As some of you have questioned what a mongoose is I am now doubting that it was one. If anyone knows what else it could have been please feel free to chime in!

Now because Josh had left early and gone back to the house for a few hours we had arranged to meet him at the guest drop off area at Magic Kingdom. I am fairly sure this was just an excuse for us to ride the monorail as we had yet to do so this trip.
Ahhh the monorail.
The finest of all Disney’s transportation methods.
So off we went up the platform just as our beloved monorail was pulling in.

Yes this was taken at another point in time, as I was far too overwhelmed with his beauty to grab a shot the first time.
IMG_6825-1_zps11f07d13.jpg

Look at that stunning specimen with his pointy noise and his singular guiding rail. Amazing!!

On a side note my friend Katie and I just visited some of the theme parks we have in Australia this weekend. Now if you come to Australia, don’t come for the theme parks, as it’s a little bit pathetic compared to what is over in the states. You can come for the beaches, or the people or the even the ridiculous amount of roundabouts we have BUT just don't come for the theme parks!

Anyway it was still fun but we rode around on the Seaworld monorail and it just felt all wrong!

DSCF0440_zps012ff4ea.jpg

You are NOT Mickey Mouse!

So we rode to TTC and it was magical in everyway it should be.
Our driver was witty, our carridge was clean, we were next to super cute excitable kids AND when multilingual door warning guy said those magic words 'Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas' all the overwhelming tiredness vanished and we remembered where we were. HOME! It was one of those Disney moments where everything in the world seems right and you reach that new level of happiness.
Once we got off the monorail we enjoyed an incredible sunset on the wharf while waiting for Josh.

sunset2_zps234a91e3.jpg

Here is the beautiful sunset.

sunsetplustim_zps9de5f5b8.jpg

Here is the beautiful sunset plus Tim's face...

Finally he arrived so we bounded over with a renewed sense of excitement and energy towards where Josh was parked ready to invigorate, or possibly annoy, him with our new found enthusiasm for the rest of the night.

Josh, as you can imagine was a little less than enthusiastic than us after spending a lot of the afternoon with his head in the toilet.

IMG_0341_zps7d91a3be.jpg

Nawhhh lots of hugs for Josh

Luckily getting all that Beverley out of his system made him feel a lot better so he was ready to enjoy the evening with his hyped up girlfriend and friends.

We headed back to the house, that is after getting sufficiently lost on property.

This time we managed to end up at the guest gate at Animal Kingdom about 8 times or so and have to be let through to turn around. The gate man...guard? Found it funny the first 3 or so times but after that I don't think he really believed us!

Once we were on our way we decided to find some dinner off property *GASP
In my defense this was only my second trip so I really didn’t understand all Disney had to offer in the way of food. After our marvelous margaritas and THE BEST NACHOS IN THE WORLD earlier that day, we decided we were in a Mexican mood and that would be our dinner choice of the night. After a lengthy and unrewarding hunt ,we settled on ‘Chili’s. Primarily because it was the only place we could find that had nachos and looked like it wouldn’t give us food poisoning. Now I am usually quite adventerious with places to eat but with Josh already upchucking enough for all of us and our jamm packed days ahead, we decided to play it safe.

I’m sorry, that is the second vomit reference this chapter. Yuck.
I feel like this TR is all toilet and vomit stories. This is really not like me but I guess this trip brought the crude side out in all of us.

So we ordered our food and drove back to the house so we could eat by the pool as it was quite a nice night. By that I mean we were still dripping with sweat but it was more of a trickle than a constant stream.
Josh and Tim ended up getting buffalo wings from memory and both Bek and I had ordered the nachos because we were keen to relive the pure perfection that we had tasted earlier that day.
HA!
worstnachos_zps443e038d.jpg

Such naïve fools we were...
It tasted like greasy, fatty, foot juice poured on some stale tortilla chips.
It was beyond disgusting and it was one of those meals that as soon as you bite into it you KNOW it’s going to make you feel very sick later.
Now a normal person might go and get something else to eat or settle on eating the yogurt or oatmeal we had in the house. Good thing I’m not normal and really struggle with throwing out food. It’s so stupid but if something is terrible I usually keep eating fueled by the pure optimism that it may get better under the first layer. This theory has yet to work in my favour.
So I kept choking down the foot nachos while Bek switched to the yogurt option and looked on in a mixture of disgust and amusement.
After the foot nachos I went to lay on the couch for a while and regret my dinner choice and the others had a float around the pool before we all passed out.

We woke up the next morning to Bek banging on our bedroom window. Let me tell you that is quite a strange way to be woken up. She had gone for an early morning swim and somehow managed to get locked out of the house in her swimmers.
Hilarious....well a little scary and confusing...but hilarious in the end.

After we all joined her for another morning swim the others ate some breakfast, I stuck to coffee as my stomach was still a little annoyed at me for what I had forced in it the night before. Off we drove, through the gates again (STILL WOOOO!!!) and headed to ANIMAL KINGDOM!!! EEEEEEE!

We went straight in as the park had just opened and headed towards the safari as we wanted to ride it before it got too scorching. We reached the front of the line quickly and the CM asked us how many people in our group, Four I said and for some reason held up 5 fingers. There was a silence. ‘Ummm pretty good at counting are we?’ ahhh whoops. Apparently I'm pretty good at counting first thing in the morning.

Off we headed on our two week safari. It was amazing as always!

PB170288_zpsf9e3a9d8.jpg

I love these guys!!
PB170277_zpsaceceff7.jpg

We were lucky enough on this trek to have the baby elephant who felt the need to put the safari vehicle between him and his mother. Clearly there were issues at home and he felt smothered.

PB170281_zps99848bd6.jpg

Geez, give me some space mum…

PB170282_zps735f7c99.jpg

I mean I have had animals wander into our path before and disrupt the safari but this is by far the longest that it has ever happened to me.
It was a good 20 minutes of waiting while he plodded around, enjoying his space and quite possibly all the attention he was getting. We looked behind us and it was a pretty massive safari traffic jam. Twice they brought out the undercover vechile that hides in the bushes to kind of persude little baby elephant to scoot over a bit and let us past. Mother was not having any of it.
As soon as it came out she zoned in on it and starting sticking her ears out and looking cranky so it retreated. The third time it somehow got the baby to move over enough to be closer to its mother and to let us past.

PB170283_zpscfce6b53.jpg

That safari really did feel like two weeks!!

Although it was only just past 9 it was so hot sitting out on the savannah for what felt like hours we were good and ready to get cooled down.
Off we headed to Kali River aka the wash cycle as we knew that would do the trick.

There was a little snacking along the way of course!

Tim just can't say no!
pickle2.jpg

frozbananna_zps917e8b3d.jpg

Also we knew the queue later on that day would be beyond ridiculous.
Josh said he still wasn’t 100% and he was keen for some more substantial food so he decided to go get some while we rode. There wasn't much line luckily so we breezed through the queue quite quickly. It was just the three of us and we were put in a raft with another family that was already seated. Now the women of this family (the mother, grandmother and possibly aunt) were dressed quite strangely for a rapid ride. They were all wearing the type of attire one might wear to a funeral and their tight lipped scowls suggested they were having just as much fun. The rest of the family seemed quite normal and well adjusted, laughing, smiling and enjoying life. These three women were glaring at us from the moment we entered the raft. They clearly didn't like the addition of non-family members riding with them and they wanted us to know it. We boarded despite the sourpuss looks we were getting and got settled in for our adventure.
I had small waterproof backpack which I kept on but Tim had quite a big canvas backpack so he opened the middle section to put it in. As he opened the middle section the first cranky looking older lady in the boat stuck out her hand and shut it on him.

"No, it’s full... Sorry " she said, in the snootiest most insincere way possible.

"But I just needed to..." Started Tim.

"NO, you heard her. It won't shut and then OUR stuff will get wet", Continued the second cranky slightly younger woman.

Then all three continued to glare and mutter under their breath about the inconsiderate actions of others.

DoodleBuddyiPad-5_zpsa12a9c6a.png

Yes really.

I should point out at this stage that there was still more than enough room in the pocket for Tim's bag without endangering the dryness of their precious bags.

Now Tim is very easy going and doesn’t like a fuss, so rather than arguing with the woman or just shoving it in, he put his backpack back on and thought nothing of it.

Well until he was that ONE person who got absolutely soaked.
This massive wave came from behind him and drenched him to the point of hilarity…well it would be if he hadn’t had his very un-waterproof canvas backpack on.
IT WAS SOAKED! Beyond soaked. It was ridiculous!

So poor Tim hurried off the ride and found a bench to dry all his stuff on. He had to take everything out of his wallet and he had to take his phone and ipod apart and dry them out too as they got drenched.

Oh and I should probably mention that the snooty women were dry as a bone...of course.:confused3

Luckily all his valuable stuff was ok and because it was already well into the 90’s it dried very quickly. Unfortunately the inside of his bag was still wet so he put all his stuff into my backpack until it dried out. This made my backpack look like an overstuffed balloon which was quite funny.

This led to a game where whenever someone said something silly they would have to carry the ridiculous backpack and to get it to the person they would first get bopped with it. This bopping happened by swinging the bag by it's straps Theme song for this was of course, Hit me with your best shot, which quickly evolved to 'Hit me with your pet shark'. This is because CLEARLY that is what it actually sounds like! The song makes much more sense when you know the real lyrics.
So with shoes still a little soggy we headed towards Expedition Everest, bashing each other with my overstuffed bag, singing loud and proud our favourite pet shark anthem and all this before 10 in the morning!

Next up:
Hey Kids, Look At This Here Warrrrrrrrrtttthaaaawwwwwwwwwwggggg!!!!!!!!

No no! Never doubt your googling skills. I'm sure it WAS a mongoose, I've just never heard of one before!

Those sunset pictures are SO pretty! Wow.

Wait... are those ladies serious? WHO does that? Wow... I feel so bad for him! I bet the whole ride was a joy with them. Geeze. At least yall made the most of it, which is basically all you can do! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad your back! Loved the update, including all the great pix of the safari. I am recently back from my own trip to the World (Jan 3-11) and we had the best safari ride we've ever had. We were stopped twice for animals, once for giraffes (I have a picture I took of a giraffes that was literally three feet away from me sooo cool) and for a really long time for an ostrich. I've done the safari ride a ton of times and have never been stopped before so it was something to get stopped twice. We weren't stopped as long as you were either time but it was still really fun!

Welcome back...you were missed!

What a beautiful sunset...Disney sunsets are somehow just BETTER!

Thank you...I will be singing "Hit me with your pet shark" for a long, long time!:thumbsup2

Beautiful sunset pictures!

Oh, I hate to read about rude people like your lovely ride-mates on Kali...that's just not right. You've got to share, people! And since that ride loads while on the move, you had no option to alert a cast member or try to get another raft.

Your "hit me with your pet shark" reminds me of my lyrics for Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Towards the end of the song, the words are: "Digest an iguana, digest an iguana-a-a!" ;)

Haha it's ok, it's not just you that made me doubt it. My friend that lives in Florida had no idea what a Mongoose was and when I looked at it again they don't even live there! I have NO idea!! UNLESS it just escaped from Animal Kingdom??

Disney sunsets are the absolute best!! Even when Tim's face photobombs!

Some people just need to CHILL OUT! Geez you're in Disney people... let's all take a second and remember that (well not us personally... because we are not ) A good thing about Tim is that he is THE most laid back guy in the world and nothing bothers him. Not even these grumps.

Awwh thank you!! :goodvibes I LOVE getting stopped by the animals!! It feels like every now and then they have to remind us that it is their show, not just another ride full of animatronics. That is so awesome that you got stopped twice!! Have you started a TR from your trip? I would love to see some of those shots as they sound amazing!! I would never think that an ostrich would be a ride stopper/attention seeker but hey maybe they are sick of not getting enough of the glory:confused3

Welcome back...you were missed!

Awhh thanks so much!!

I KNOW!!! Seriously those Disney skies are just ridiculous! I took about 400 sunset shots the last trip... so next TR may have about 10 chapters devoted to sunsets...

Hooray! Hit me with your pet shark....Fire a whale...

Beautiful sunset pictures!

Thanks!! It's not hard to get good ones at Disney. Dang magic skies...

Yeah rude people are no fun! But it didn't really get us down too much. Just makes you realize how 'fun' some peoples lives are if that is how they act on vacation!! Next time we will do a raft switch for sure... actually hopefully there wont be a next time!!

Your "hit me with your pet shark" reminds me of my lyrics for Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Towards the end of the song, the words are: "Digest an iguana, digest an iguana-a-a!" ;)

AHhhh that is amazing!!! I have always enjoyed Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'There's a bathroom on the right'

That's a good one! That song featured prominently in "An American Werewolf in London" and now it makes so much more sense.

I am a bit shocked that the CM's working the ride didn't "make" him put it in the covered thingamajiggy, thereby overriding said crabby ladies. That's supremely annoying.

Chili's.

ICK

ICK

and double ICK!

So sorry

That's a good one! That song featured prominently in "An American Werewolf in London" and now it makes so much more sense.

Bahaha :rotfl: I love that movie!! I also love American Werewolf in Paris.
Moral of the story is that American werewolves are enjoyable to watch in any country.

I am a bit shocked that the CM's working the ride didn't "make" him put it in the covered thingamajiggy, thereby overriding said crabby ladies. That's supremely annoying.

Yeah I dont think he saw. Tim had lifted the flap and started putting it in as we were rounding the bend and because we didn't make a fuss I guess the CM didn't notice? Crabby ladies win this round, but they lose at life so YAY for us non crabby folk :thumbsup2

Chili's.

ICK

ICK

and double ICK!

Ugh I know!!! It was awful!!!! When you are travelling to another country everything sounds so exotic and exciting... IT"S ALL LIES! Well not all of it but I did eat some disgusting horrible food while I was in the states simply because I had seen it in TV shows and movies :confused3

So sorry

Thank you. I wish I could say that I had learnt my lesson....

CHAPTER 13

Hey Kids, Look At This Here Warrrrrrrrrtttthaaaawwwwwwwwwwggggg!!!!!!!

We headed to Expedition Everest next to visit everyones good friend, the yeti.

IMG_4322_zpsd1cb066a.jpg

I tried to line up the temple and the mountain like all the cool kids but the sun didn't like that plan.

IMG_4323_zps5013b4c1.jpg

There was a bit of a line already, because it was summer and well... people generally like a sneaky train trip into the Himalayas before lunchtime. Due to this fact we hit up the single rider line to ensure we would be reunited with our yeti friend as soon as possible. Also many a child was being lifted up above their parents head to ring the bells repeatedly. YAY!!! I will probably think it is the most adorable thing EVER when I have a child and they want to do things like repeatedly clang on bells in public places, but until then...:sad2:

We reached the front of the line really quickly and were all lucky enough to get on the same train. I was next to a young teenage boy who was quiet and awkward and clearly wanted no stranger chat. This was the second time I had been on the yeti EVER and the first time I rode it, we broke down on the hill and had to get evacuated! So I pretty much had no idea how intense it was going to be.
I still had the fat 'Hit me with your pet shark' bag in my possession and it was still bursting at the seems with Tim's massive amounts of stuff. I started to put it in the net and let me tell you, it was the tightest fit. So tight in fact that it went half in and wouldn't go any further. The train pulled away from the station and my bag still wouldn't go in. No problem, I'll just pull it out and out it at my feet. It wouldn't budge. It was a little bit in the net but it was not secure and we were picking up speed. It wouldn't go in and I couldn't pull it out. I started to freak out a little bit. We had started going up the hill and I had no idea what the ride had in store after this hill. I knew that it went backwards and was intense and that is all I knew. Eeek!! Looking back now I feel very silly how frantic I became but at the time I was the mayor of panic-town. Up the hill we went with no progress on the bag situation. I had no choice.

'HELP ME' I screamed at the awkward teenage boy next to me

'What???'

'HELP!!!! Help me push my bag in!!!IT'S STUCK!!!!' I yelled at his startled face.

'Um...ok?', said the teenage boy in a tone that said he could care less about the fate of my bag.

For the duration of the hill we both pushed down with all our might and finally, pop, it slid in.

Relief. So I snapped a picture or two.

IMG_4329_zpsffb5b4d1.jpg

IMG_4330_zpsffa7fc5d.jpg

We reached the top, the bird circled and backwards we went.

IMG_4328_zpsbec00cb8.jpg

It was such an amazing ride on Everest. Firstly because it was my first real ride on it but also because of all the adrenaline that built with the bag situation.
Teenage boy and I screamed in unison enjoying all the thrills the mountain had to offer, all the way to the unloading station.

It was then that we were faced with a slight problem.
That's right folks.
If a bag takes half a ride of pushing to get in, it ain't gonna be an easy task to get out. And so started the reverse process of getting the overstuffed bag out. This was actually more strenuous and time consuming than getting it in!
Whats worse is I trapped poor awkward teenage boy next to me while everyone else exited and we had to have 3 cast members come over and try and get the bag out.
It wasn't pretty.
People standing in the queue ready to load were shooting us evils for holding up the entire expedition.
We had trains stopped behind us with cranky people there too.

I think even the yeti was angrier than usual.

I awkwardly tried to smile at the angry glares surrounding me.
The kind of 'I'm not doing this on purpose' smile you give in situations when the mob is against you.

FINALLY the CMs got it out (with their magical Disney powers no doubt) and sort of hurried the awkward teenage boy and I off the platform and into the gift shop. I found the others just outside and had to explain the whole bag fiasco to them- making sure to blame Tim...because thats what we do :rotfl: then I turned around to apologise to the boy but he was long gone. I have a suspicion he bolted from me as soon as he got the chance.
Its ok kid, I would too.

Goodbye Everest!

IMG_4353_zpsd39aa912.jpg

Next we headed over to Dinotown to get some prehistoric action.

IMG_4356_zps3fa25801.jpg

IMG_4391_zpsff8504a7.jpg

Our mission was... Dinosaur which we were super excited for because we LOVE the Indiana Jones ride at DLR and we knew it was the same sort of system.
After doing Trex hands all through the queue to get into the spirit, it was time to board. Front row is usually a wonderful thing to get and I enjoy it very much so however I am NOT very good with the dark and I am a terrible mess if things jump out at me! Bek is pretty much the same and she was given the honour of driving our time machine rover thing.
‘Our lives are in your hands driver ’ yelled the man behind us to Bek, which we found quite funny, well...until the ride started.
So the first portion of the ride was quite enjoyable, looking at dinosuars, waiting for the correct one, laughing at the dinosaur eating the other dinosaur. Then it all becomes a blur.
SO. MANY. LOUD. NOISES!!!!!

Seriously though Dinosaur terrified me!

I was so shaken up after I got off I needed a bench and some flat lemonade!
(Did anyone ever read the Babysitters Club special where they go to WDW? It was pretty much my favourite book growing up because they went there and on the cruise and it is amazing and magical in all the right ways but anyway in it one of them feels sick on Space Mountain and her sort-of-boyfriend gets her some flat lemonade and makes her sit on a bench to make her feel better. So now whenever I am in Disney I crave benches and flat lemonade when something is a bit too much for me haha.)

This is a bench right? Note the flat lemonade in hand...

My reaction to Dinosaur is fairly funny now after re-riding it many times but geeeez that first time!
As a child I was afraid of my own shadow so I am fairly sure that I would have adopted myself out to a new family if my parents had taken me on that!
In our ride photo you cant even see me or Bek as we are covering our eyes with our hands and we are trying our very best to hide from the dinoaurs as much as we can.

Horrible!

After that we wandered around and looked at some of the animals.

Like this guy….

Awwwwwwwwhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Meerkats are my absolute favourites!!!!

At lunch time we decided we would head out of the park and hop over to Hollywood studios and get some fun in there!
On our way out we were walking right behind a family who had quite a distinct Southern drawl. I love accents so I'm not ashamed to admit I was kind of listening in. They were just chatting about the day when the father stopped dead in his tracks and ran to the enclosure to the side of the path.
He then yelled back to his family what would become the catchphrase of the trip

‘HEY SUE……..HEY KIDS……

COME LOOK AT THIS HERE

WARRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTHAWWWWWWWWWWWGGGGGGGGGG!

Oh my lord.

I did not know it was possible for a word to last for 20 minutes until that day.
He seriously drew out the word Warthog like it was nobodys business.
It was amazing! I love Southern accents already but that guy just took the cake. It was AMAZING!!!!!

We all just looked at each other and hurried past the family so we could safely explode with laughter without offending anyone.
It was amazing! I wish I had captured it so I could share it with the world and possibly make it my ringtone.

Ahhhhh Waaaarrrrrttttthaaawwwwwwwgggggggg! My goodnesss sir. I salute you! Best word ever!!!

We headed out to the car park still in awe of the warthog guy and headed
towards the car. AT least where we thought the car was.
I hate to sound like a broken record but what can I say, we are creatures of habit.
No car anywhere in site. Hmmm we were becoming pros at losing our car, which was not really a good thing. We all split up and took a few rows each. Nothing.
Luckily we didn’t feel like such fools as everyone that got off our tram and then one after was doing the same car hunt. Unfortunately everyone else seemed to have beeper things so they could hunt with them in hand. After I had done my few rows it was getting a little ridiculous. We were hungry and exhausted and it was boiling out there in the sun. I decided to go up to a guy who from our tram and getting in his truck and ask him for some help finding our car. His wife was in the front seat already so I asked if I could jump in the back of his truck in the open tray bit and have a look for our car. He paused but agreed to let me do it. So in I climbed and scouted things out from another angle... and success! I spotted the car! So I jumped out and thanked them both and yelled out to the others where the car was.
After that ordeal we actually addressed the ridiculousness of our car park issue and appointed someone for the remainder of the days to take multiple photos each time we parked the car.

Also- This was the day that Bek broke her shoe with all her intense themeparking!

Next up- Breakdown City And Another Old Man Friend To Add To The List

I found your TR the other day and have been laughing through each and every update! :lmao: One of the funniest I have read in a LONG time! Subscribing so I don't miss the next one. :goodvibes

I know EXACTLY the Babysitter's Club book you are talking about! Dawn got nauseous after riding Space Mountain. But it was flat soda- not lemonade! Lemonade is usually pretty flat to begin with. :)

My granny was born and raised in Georgia and can turn "Hi y'all" into a three minute soliloquy, so I totally appreciate Mr. Waaaaaarrrrrrtttthhhhaaaawwwwgggg. Ka-lass-ic!

Ah, the perils of the lost car...been there, done that...pretty routinely before the advent of cell phone technology! Thank goodness for camera phones!

When we were there in January the meerkats were gone!! I was so sad, I loved them!! The staff member that was there said he didn't think they were coming back :sad1: I love Dinosaur but my son isn't a fan because it is too loud for him. He'll take one ride with me but he sticks his fingers in his ears (and I think he closes his eyes too because they are always closed in the picture!)

So here I was sitting at my kitchen window looking out on the snow and deceptive sunshine (current temp in single digits) and thinking of a warm destination. I decide to look for a new TR to read and stumble across your title and had to check it out. I've only read the first post and already can't wait to read the rest!!
