Nate: "Ehh, it's not bad. Chair companies should start advertising it." He deepened his voice, to sound like someone on an infomercial, "Counter-chairs, never sit on a boring old chair again. Only $19.99. Plus shipping and handling." After the water boils, Nate finishes his noodles, pours himself a glass of soda, and sits in the seat next to Alex. "So, how was your free period?"

Margo: "Yeah, thanks Daniel." She makes her way to the kitchen, where she sees a group has already gathered. "Hi, everyone."

Alex: Alex laughs at him and smiles at Margo,"Hey Mar!" She turns to Nate and taps her chin,"Well I listened to music and fixed my hair. Kind of boring but maybe I'll make up for it later by doing something fun. How about yours?" She asked curiously. She saw River walk in and waved,"Hey River!" She turned back to Nate showing him he had her attention now.

Alex: Alex laughs at him and smiles at Margo,"Hey Mar!" She turns to Nate and taps her chin,"Well I listened to music and fixed my hair. Kind of boring but maybe I'll make up for it later by doing something fun. How about yours?" She asked curiously. She saw River walk in and waved,"Hey River!" She turned back to Nate showing him he had her attention now.

Nate: "A few of us walked to the woods over in that direction." He nodded his head to indicate behind the school. "Were planning on going to the beach soon, you should come with."

Margo: Margo smiled and waved at Alex, then began to fix herself a sandwich and some milk.

Alex: Alex smiled wider at the idea of going tot he beach,"That sounds like a lot of fun, I've never been to the beach before! I'd love to go if it's alright with everyone else." She drank some more of her water then quickly put it in the dishwasher and sat back down next to Nate.

I guess since I've been to the beach so much it's hard to think about how some people have never gone. All the more reason to take you, I guess."

Margo: Once she was finished making her food, Margo sat down on Alex's other side.

Alex: Alex looked down at her lap,"Yeah, it's kind of embarrassing not doing something everyone else has. I've never gone to places where there are beaches, I always ran away to places where beaches were too far to go." She looks back up at him,"It's really cool you've been so many times though, it must have been really fun!" Alex turned and smiles at Margo,"Hey Margo."

Alex: Alex looked down at her lap,"Yeah, it's kind of embarrassing not doing something everyone else has. I've never gone to places where there are beaches, I always ran away to places where beaches were too far to go." She looks back up at him,"It's really cool you've been so many times though, it must have been really fun!" Alex turned and smiles at Margo,"Hey Margo."

Nate: "That's okay, we live on an island now, so we can go as much as we like." Nate felt bad that he had embarrassed Alex by focusing on the beach thing, and he was confused by what she meant when she said "running away" but decided to just change the subject. "I'm pretty excited to see what we do in gym today. Daniel thinks we'll get to use our powers. I'm kind of nervous about that, though."

Margo: "Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm ready to show my powers yet. I guess I'll have to get it over sometime, though."

Nate felt bad that he had embarrassed Alex by focusing on the beach thing, and he was confused by what she meant when she said "running away" but decided to just change the subject. "I'm pretty excited to see what we do in gym today. Daniel thinks we'll get to use our powers. I'm kind of nervous about that, though."

River: River followed Daniel into the kitchen and smiled at everyone as she walked by, when she met eyes with Max she waved slightly trying to be friendly. She found some spaghetti and started to boil a pot of water. While she waited for the water to finish she noticed that she kept looking over at Daniel she just couldn't help it, she wondered I anyone else noticed.

Max: Max nodded in River's direction. She seemed to be okay now, and that made her feel better.

Daniel: As Daniel waited for the pizza to cook, he kept noticing River glancing at him. He didn't notice every time, but he smiled at her when he didd notice.

Max: Max frowned slightly. She didn't want to show off her powers. It meant she would have to be really careful when she tried to sneak out at night. If the wrong person saw her when she was disguised........they would know it was her. And then questions would be asked. Questions that she never wanted asked.

Daniel: "I think we'll all be okay. And you're right Nate, everyone here knows what it's like. And most of you've probably already seen my powers, but they aren't that cool compared to what others can do."

Daniel: Daniel was glad everyone was feeling a little less nervous about gym class. He jumped sllightly as the timer on the oven went off. He pulled his pizza out, set the tray down, and closed and turned off the oven. It was pre-sliced, so he got out a plate and put a couple of slices on it.

Daniel: Daniel grinned back at her. "Yup, the friends are great. It's almost perfect here." He didn't really care anymore, he would just do what would feel right and not worry about it. River was a good friend, and if people had a problem with him holding her hand, well, that was their problem.
