Oh the places We Go, The People We see

As we walked off I got this shot of a car going up. I thought it was neat and I had a poser in there …see the guy smiling for me!

barnstormer13.jpg

You didn't know him? How kind of him to oblige.

I LOL'd at Claire saying it was for babies.
Kadence wasn't interested in going in at all, so maybe she had similar thoughts.

I see the tall trees and I know they out them there on purpose just to interrupt our photo taking!

We had discussed the barnstormer, but the circus area took all of her attention.

Nothing worse than a wet cranky child

Yeah, she wasn't too impressed with the way it looked, but we basically walked by it, so maybe there is something we are missing.

I know they put those trees there just to irritate us!

Claire isn't too wild about rollercoasters, but barnstormer is one she likes ...and we found out EE is a big hit too this trip. I think that had to do with a cousin and uncle riding with us though.

Great pictures Jen even the ones taken on the non-high flying Dumbo. I love all of the new theming in the Storybook Circus area even if they did have to do away with my namesake portion of the park.

Thanks again. I like the theming, and I am still kind of mixed about how I feel about the area. I do not like the splash train area, but I don't like those at any parks.

Claire makes me laugh. :rotfl: Morghan wouldn't step foot in Dumbo. I was really bummed as I wanted to see all the fun new stuff but she said she was much too old for any of that. 13 year olds seem to know everything, ya know? lol! Too bad for those really tall trees! I do like the pictures you did get. :thumbsup2

And yep, Barnstormer is WAY too short. :rolleyes1

I am sure we will come to a point where Claire will say no to certain rides ...wel lshe does now, but mostly to Haunted Mansion. She thinks that is too scary, but each time she rides it she enjoys it. I guess she forgets.

I did not really know what to make of Storyland Circus. I loved the costumes that the characters were wearing at Pete's Sideshow, but the rest left me relatively cold. Now, New Fantasyland was a different matter.

Corinna

I am mixed on it too. The themin is great, but I am stil ltrying to decide if I like this or not. :lmao:

Don't worry the crack can't be felt. I do plan on getting screen protector to keep it from cracking further. The screen can be replaced, but I don't need to do that as of yet.

Thats good. I know my Aunt said to replace the screen for the one she had was going to be pretty ex*****ive, but they can get a new opad for free through my Uncles work, so it's probably better to just go that route for them.

This is cool :thumbsup2- I never saw water art when we were at the World! Is this common???
I could be a water artist I think::yes::!!

I have seen it in the past and on TR's, but not often. I saw it all over the place on this trip, so they must be doing it more often now.

OK Jen, just had an 18 point reply all typed out (and you know I'm fully capable of doing that......:rotfl:) then hit "submit" and it went bye bye! :furious:

Just a few of the points I recall:

1) Total bummer that your room was ready and they didn't text you. But I for one enjoyed your tour of AKL. I'm enjoying all of Claire's "rules". There's just something about little girls that give them the idea they are in charge. Yeah, I have that problem here occasionally..... :rolleyes1

2) I enjoyed reading along with you meeting Carey and Kadence. And laughed along at the 2 of them having nothing to say. How often does THAT happen?????

3) What was your impression of storybook circus? I really liked it, but that could just be because my expectations were really low. I hadn't spent much time thinking about or anticipating it, than was surprised that I really enjoyed it!

4) I enjoyed the Disney on Ice shots. I really need a halfway decent point and shoot for stuff like that. I'm really tired of stressing over whether they'll let me in with my camera or not. Yours was not a show we have seen, nor is it the one we're seeing in March. I'd love to see it though. I loved the Small World pics! And I've never seen Lumiere skate. That would be worth the price of admission!

5) Enjoyed seeing all the Christmas pics. You really did clean up on that AG sale!

And with that, I am officially all caught up and ready for your next installment(s). It has been driving me nuts to see snippets of what you were posting but not really looking until I could get caught up. I wonder how long before I'm behind again! :rotfl:

You didn't know him? How kind of him to oblige.

Nope! I want you to retype that 18 point response! :lmao:

1. Yep, I was not happy about not getting our room text, but we made the best of it at least. And Claire can be quite bossy at times.

2.I was so happy to meet up with Carey. It was a highlight for me, and for Claire too, even though she didn't act like it at that moment.

3. I am still not sure what I think of Storybook Circus. It's themed great, I do not like the splash area at all though and it being in the midddle where it is , to me is a big pain. We had to be sure to make wide circles around it in order not to get wet. I do like that there is 2 Dumbos now.

4. I took a lot of pics at Disney on Ice, but I wil lsay more than half were extremely blurry.

5. We had a good Crhistmas. now if I could just get myself organized and put it all away. I have a pile in my dining area waiting to be put away yet, as my organizing the basement project is moving slowly. :rotfl:

Love all the new pics, and looks like XMAS was a blast!

It must be the season for cracked idevices! DS dropped his iPod last weekend, and totally cracked the entire front! Repairing one on that tiny device is $99! :scared1: But he's only had it a year, so we definitely want to repair it. I told him to start saving his allowance, and ask Grandma if he can help her out with some household chores to earn extra money. He also has a birthday coming up, so maybe he'll find his way into some extra $$.

Yes, 2nd grade is definitely the Lego sweet spot! DS has been super into all of his this year, and that is probably the only park we're visiting when we go to Orlando in March.

Great pictures around Storybook Circus. The new "play area" waiting for Dumbo reminds me very much of a McDonald's or Chuck E Cheese...stuff for the little kids to climb in and you can't find them. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I love the new splash area...I think it is really neat, but I can definitely see needing an extra set of clothes.

The bad thing is, Claire has everything she could ever want, so I guess no more Christmas' for her! :rotfl2:
I'll gladly accept whatever she's meant to get at future Christmas' esp if it's Disney stuff:rotfl:

Luvin the updates as well btw :)

oh no!
Claire has mentioned going to legoland too. Where will we find the time? I would take her in a heartbeat, if we could make an extra trip down. :rotfl:

Thanks. I am not a fan of the splahs thing. mostly because I just am not a fan of them anywhere. I know when we went to Dollywood they had one and Paige and Michael were soaked completely ...ok so was Skip. :rotfl2: Ad then the wining started and I think we ended buying new shirts or something.

I'll gladly accept whatever she's meant to get at future Christmas' esp if it's Disney stuff:rotfl:

I bet you would. :thumbsup2

Love your group picture. It had to be a great task to pull this off.

It was. I think there were 4 pictures taken total and in everyone of them someone is either looking away or blinking or making a face.

We decided to go in and See Minnie and Daisy. The line wasn’t too long. I texted Stephanie again. We had been texting back and forth about meeting up and I let her know we were making a stop here first.

minnieline1.jpg

The line moved pretty fast and soon we were meeting Miss Daisy.

gypsydaisy1.jpg

Lighting in here is not too great and it’s hard to get decent pictures.

Daisy has always been a hit with Claire. One year we had to get up extra early to find her at DHS. Claire was not about to leave without seeing her. Luckily we found her first thing that trip.

I have to admit something dumb here. I had thought the characters were already dressed in their Halloween costumes. It was till we went back outside and I saw the signs that I realized they dress this way all the time. Oops!

Next up was Minnie. I like that you can see 2 characters, but only wait in 1 line.

Minnie’s area was even worse for lighting. And many of our photopass pictures came out bad or just a complete blur.

We said goodbye to Minnie and headed out.

Surprise, Surprise! We were let out into a dump shop!

bigtoptreats2.jpg

It was really neat in here though!

bigtoptreats3.jpg

And this is when I realize that the characters are dressed for a theme and not in a Halloween costume.

Claire had noticed basically no line for Goofy and Donald at all either, so we went back around, and yes you have to go outside to get back in, and got in line ….only to find them gone! But we were told they would be out soon. We also sent out another text to Stephanie to let her know we were seeing more charaters.

exoticsnake.jpg

Next thing we know, we see Carey, John, and Kadence come walking in. They were only a few people behind us so we chatted a bit while we waiting. Of course Claire and Kadence were both excited to see other and showed it by eyeing each other up and down. LOL

Soon it was time for the Great Goofini and Donaldo! Do you see what I see?

goofyshand.jpg

TaDa!!!!

The Great Goofini!

greatgoofini1.jpg

Notice Donald's giving the thumbs down from behind the curtain in this next picture.

greatgoofini2.jpg

Donaldo was NOT about to be outdone. You know how that duck loves attention.

And then he noticed I had a camera and came over to ham it up.

And then he saw Carey and hammed it up for her.

donaldo6.jpg

Don’t believe me? Here’s her shot!

Finally Donaldo settled down and went off to his spot to wait for us humans.

I loved the characters in their special costumes. I think my Photopass photos came out OK, but I have not really had a look at them since I got my disk.

Corinna

Don't feel dumb. I too would have thought they were dressed that way for the party. Cute, cute pictures! The picture of Donald giving Goofy a thumbs down made me laugh!

I love how Claire is studying Minnie in one of the pics. Also love Donald's little performance to your cameras

And more great photos!
Sorry for the lighting being bad, but all in all your pics came out pretty well. ;)

Love the fact that Donald is such a poser! :rotfl2:

I didn't really keep up much on what was being done in this section. I knew character meets, but I guess I didn't realized they were circus themed . :rotfl:

She's likes to check out the characters.

Thanks. Donald is usually pretty funny.

So this time I was all the way back on page 10, but I read all the way to 23 and I'm caught up again.

I saw that same Disney on Ice show! River wanted popcorn but I wouldn't let him have it for that much. I wanted the program until I saw how much it was, the guy working the booth never told me it came with anything extra and I didn't want to pay 20 just for the book.

Yeah for Skip picking out a good gift for you!

When River saw the picture of Alexis catching the food in her mouth he started jumping up and down and yelling "can we go there"

I think October is my favorite time of the year to go to Disney although I will take anytime I can get!

It looks like you all had a nice Christmas and did it up right!

As always I love looking at all your pictures.

(I'm getting caught up!)

You know, I thought the same thing y'all did looking at the play area. But I was surprised - my neices loved the play area (they're 5, 7, and 9). I think the biggest thing for them was the opportunity to run around and just play for a little while. They actually asked for time in the play area on our last trip, even though Dumbo was running with absolutely no wait at the time we were there...

I have been trying to update more lately too, though it doesn't always work the way I want it too.
I always know going int to a Disney event they are going to charge me an arm and a leg! UGH! The popcorn wasn't too bad though with free refills. Claire is a popcorn pig!
I am making stir fry tonight. Claire loves it now because of our Christmas eve experience, though I don't throw food in her mouth.

Love the photos with Daisy & Minnie

thanks

I guess thats kind of my issue about those type of things. I avoid those because I hate wasting precious Disney time to do something we could do at Chuck E Cheese. :rotfl:
