I thought the rollaway was free at CL?

You should not be paying for a roll away. Just let them know about your problem in person at the front desk and it will more than likely be taken care of.

Gotta love those call centers. I feel bad because there are a million things they have to know when people call. I'd even bet the information they have to work with is badly outdated or missing important parts. I wouldn't want that job!

OK I'm more back now and I have sufficiently recovered from the holidays and my BC December vacation.

I thought it might be fun to answer my own cliff hanger post as the next installment of my Trip report. My answers will be in RED

:rotfl2::rotfl2::thumbsup2. Yes, I must admit I too have been known to artfully conceal a drinky poo in my mug to bring to pool, or to smuggle out one of those yummy Grand Marnier slushies out the Epcot WS gate ::yes:: shhhhhhh don't tell the Dragon who guards the gate ;)

Too bad we will miss ya at FQ. We check in 1 week from today.

So I'm at the 10 day mark and because i have nothing better to do, I call DW to ensure that my request for a day bed is on my reservation. When I made the reservation, i requested a day bed even though we are 4 people because my dd has night terrors and her thrashing can be disruptive to ds so a daybed or even a roll away would be ideal for us. Teena was kind enough to share that YC GV CL has i believe 2 of these types of rooms so I thought what the heck, may as well ask for one and if it doesn't happen, no problem we will just ask for a roll away. So today I call to make sure the request is on my reservation - no wait at all I get a CM right away - excellent! And guess what? No daybed request AND the CM tells me she doesn't think there is a daybed in the GV CL category but she'll check so please hold...ok....20 minutes later...she's back and NOPE she says, its not possible - she claims she even called the YC directly and was told there are no rooms with 2 Queens and a daybed CL - but she assured me when we check in we can pay for a roll away. Good bye. HUH?
Looks like I am going to be calling back and trying out the next CM LOL! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Guess she didn't talk to Teena like those of us here! Still laughing!

I thought the rollaway was free at CL?

Don't panic, medicgirl! The rollaways are provided free of charge at both the BC and YC, all booking levels (regular or club level rooms). I don't think you can get one, or there may be a charge, to get one at the villas. Not entirely sure.

This is not the first time incorrect information about a charge for the rollaway cots has been given, and I think even once someone reported that they were told this at the resort. Can't remember if it was housekeeping or front desk.

But if you are told WHILE AT THE RESORT that you will be charged for a cot, please calmly ask to speak to a manager and say that you had requested a room with a daybed, one was not available, and it was your understanding that a rollaway cot would be provided free of charge.

This information is not confidential or anything, but please do not say T. told me. We are very lucky to have her expertise here, and I would prefer that people here don't say things like "T. wrote this on the DIS"

Just wanted to pop in and share! Flights are now booked, but had to adjust our dates so we could fly on points:banana:

Our new dates are April 20-27 at the Beach Club. :cool1:

I will adjust your dates!

:thumbsup2

Long time lurker here.... Thank you so much for all of the usefull information I have read over the years. I am usually a strong supporter of staying off site because I like to have my space. Plus my DH snores so if I have to I usually hop into bed with my daughter or go down to the living room on the couch, but with all of this talk of the changing fast pass system I finally bit the bullet and decided to stay on site. I have always wanted to stay at the BC and have just official booked CL for July 20th to July 28th.

Crossing my fingers that the IPO office will be able to book all of the reservations I requested. I gave them a couple of options for BOG just in case my first option was all booked up.

:welcome:

Glad you have come into the light of day to say hello and tell us about your trip. Good luck with your BOG reservation. Let us know when you get it!

I'll add you to OUR BOG list. I know, not quite as satisfying.

:woohoo:

Hi everyone! We are planning a trip to WDW June 9-16 with our first stay at the BC. This will also be our first stay at a deluxe resort. We have 5 in our group, so we need a daybed for certain. The lagoon/pool view will cost about $700 extra to our stay. Is the view worth it? I'm big on the view. My wife not so much. But I'm curious if there any other "perks" to staying in a water view room? Are the rooms with the water view in better locations? Do we have a better chance of getting a balcony if we reserve a water view? Its going to be a tough sell to spend $700 for just the view. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

:welcome:

So glad you have decided to try out the Beach Club!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

:cool1:

I was wondering if anyone has any advice for our Aug 25 -Sept 1st. Yatch Club CL vacation. How do you keep from melting in the heat? Please, any advice at all is welcome.
Thanks

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I am the survivor (and proponent) of summer trips to Florida- one in August, 3 in July. Tips were provided in a previous email.

:cool2:

I have to second the PP on the standard/garden that faces the trees by Epcot. We stayed last May in 4590. I booked a standard and requested a full balcony which I got. I didn't check-in online because I wanted to specify an area. I specifically asked for closest to Epcot woods facing and we got it! I suspect they upgraded us to a garden. I'm doing the same thing this May/June trip. We saw the fireworks from our balcony each night we were in the room. That area of the resort is quieter with a separate elevator close to the side exit that leads right out to the quiet pool/laundry. In addition our walk to WS was like 5 minutes. I think it took us longer to get to the Marketplace or SAB!

According to your ticker, it looks like you have an upcoming trip this summer, but I don't think I have you on the Be Our Guest list, so I will add you.

:goodvibes

Hi Dee & Teena!! You can add us to the list. DH & I will be at the BC on Oct. 4th-11th. Cannot wait!! Going for our 2nd Food & Wine trip.:thumbsup2

:welcome: back!!!

I'll gladly add you to the list!

:woohoo:

Add us to the list! Family of 5 (myself, DHS, DD 14, DS 14, DS 13) we have stayed at the BC and BCV quite a few times before, but are staying Club Level this time thanks to Magical Vacations Travel end of August promo. We are reserved August 21-29. :)

:welcome:

Glad you are coming back- sounds like you found a sweet deal! Congrats!

I'll add you to the list.

:)

Its official! Very excited...you can officially add me to list. Thanks to these boards, we have decided to spend week at yacht club in gvcl room! Big exhale!!!

:woohoo:

I have you on the list for September, glad it is now official! Let me know if you want me to add your exact dates to the list.

On my way to YC and I know next to nothing about it.

My mom and I are going to WDW for the Princess half-marathon at the end of Feb. We were booked at GF but with all the construction going on there we decided to switch to YC. I have stayed at BCV a couple of times but never YC so I'm so excited!!

We booked standard view because that is all the was left. Is there anything to request if we want to be closer to SAB? Is there more than one elevator?

:welcome:

Glad you made the switch!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cheer2:

Probably the best way to word a request would be "Close to Stormalong Bay, please". Although if you either want or do not want first floor, you may want to include that info too.

And you can add us to the "Be Our Guest" list again...because our waitlisted post cruise stay at BCV came through this afternoon! We are already on the list for January 22-24th and now we will be there January 27-29th too :banana:

YAY! What a great way to bookmark your cruise. Hmmm, I wonder if they would let you keep the room in between. If you need a volunteer to come watch your stuff and keep a lounger warm at SAB while you are crusing the seas, I'm your gal!

Have a fantastic trip!

:beach:

Would like to be added to the list for BC for Aug 18-??? (Bounceback). Tried going back to a moderate last year but ended up switching to AKL then to YC last summer lol. Once we got into the pool we felt like we were back home. This year we will be celebrating our 10th trip to Disney :).

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Is your end date up in the air?

We are currently booked CL (Sugarloaf) at the GF next month, but we're concerned about possible noise from the pool construction. I requested to be on the other side of the building, but you never know what you will end up with.

So...... we're thinking of switching to CL LV at the BC and are wondering if all of the CL LV rooms have a fully balcony? I've read through/searched this thread and didn't find the answer, or I just missed it.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

P.S. - We would have switched to YC, but nothing is available for our dates either on the GP or AP discounts.

According to my research, most (almost 90%), but not all BC CL LV rooms have full balconies. Just a few do not.

I think the odds are pretty good. I would definitely note the request on my reservation, though.

We are currently booked for GF for next month but think I am going to call and switch to BC today. I was really hoping the pool would open at the GF but the opening date is just getting later and later.

What time does SAB close, I thought I read somewhere that it was going to be the same hours everyday eventually?? Also I noticed that the kiddie slide is going under rehab the feb 12-18, are they usually pretty accurate on their dates?? I've lost hope in rehab dates after the GF (the pool was supposed to be done in DEC). Also I know breakfast is limited but they still have room service right.

Thanks so much, I'm just in a bit of a panic at this point, but think I'm going to be a GF runaway too :)

You will certainly hear from the folks on here that the BC/YC is a great place to stay.

I have received mixed signals about the closing time of SAB. Intially, the closing time was all over the place, based on time of year, weather, crowd level, whimsy of the life guards.

Several months ago, I read that there was a set closing time of 10 PM every day.

But since then, I have had reports that the pool stayed open later in the summer and that is now closing at 8 PM, during the winter months.

So, I am as uncertain as you are!

But the 3 quiet pools are all open 24/7.

I'm guessing the rehab dates reported for SAB are pretty accurate. Luna Slide at BW is schedule to go down after Jib Slide at SAB reopens, and I don't think both slides would be down at the same time.

Yes, there is room service. Breakfast is limited, but you may be surprised at the number of options available. Check out the Dining Section on the first page of this forum. Maybe post 6 or 7. There are links with photos and info about breakfast around the resort.

Wee booked at BC from August 24th to September 1st. First visit to BC. I have always wanted to stay here and now we are able to with the Magical Vacations Labor Day discount. Will be myself, dh, dd 5 and ds 8:cheer2:

I'll ask about pool hours again when we're at SAB (another :cheer2: for the Luna Park closure!) Whenever I've asked, they've always said hours vary. But then with those reports of fixed hours, it was confusing. It seems to make so much more sense to change the hours seasonally or based on crowds/weather/etc. We WILL swim in July/August until 11pm, so it was nice to have SAB open late during the summer. But it doesn't make sense to stay open until even 10pm on a freezing January night with nobody in the pool. (Although our boys would define "freezing" differently from the rest of the world!)

Ninja Mom, laughing at your Stacey/bacon post! I'm realizing we have very goofy teens because they actually LIKE to wake up to Stacey. I'm thinking waking up early for rope drop and liking Stacey are not the teen norm. And I agree about the coffee - fortunately I already have mine by the time I turn on the Stacey TV to help wake them up. :)

P.S. Because we have the Disney Visa, we could register early for the DL 10K! (And the 200m for our 6-year-old!) Looking for any and all training advice from our runners who just returned from the half marathon!

I can't remember if I posted this here, but during my June class trip to Disney, we never turned on the tv in our room once. That's what happens when there are no boys/men in the room.

But when I got home, I thought--- Dang!!! I forgot to watch Stacey!

So I emailed IPO and explained my situation and they were so nice and put the request for a daybed room on my reservation and did indeed confirm that YC GV CL rooms with 2 queens and a daybed were available and if the request wasn't met, a rollaway would be provided. IPO even suggested that room assignments are done 4 days prior to arrival so we may even know if the room would be available to us before our check in - now, I don't know that that is the case since I won't be doing online check in but that was a nice suggestion.
I wouldn't ever use Teena as my source, I simply am so thrilled that I knew enough that the answer I received was wrong. Without Teena and DIS, I would have simply hung up and taken that answer at face value!
Gotta love this board!!!!

:banana::banana: Just booked our trip officially!! After 5 stays in BC we will be trying out YC for the first time. With the discount we are using, it was either waterview for either YC or BC (an extra $250) or standard YC, so we chose standard at YC May 20th week!

We usually try for GV, but didn't work out for us, any chance we will still get a decent view? Guess we will ask for a nice view at check in, cuz we have been lucky with our garden views at BC. We also got great ressie times for Cape May and another first, Ohanas. :wizard:

Another quick inquiry, We usually go to BC Marketplace to buy the refillable mugs for coffee and sodas, we can get the same at Ale and Compass yes? Thanks :yay:

YC is gorgeous! Had my honeymoon there eons ago and spent a few days there with friends a couple yesrs ago. You're going to love it!

Ohana is great especially for breakfast!

I just booked my first say at the Beach Club. We have stayed at the Poly several times, and really love it (my son loves to see the fireworks over the castle). We wanted to try something different. We visited the Beach Club for the first time in December to go to Cape May (my new favorite place to eat at WDW). The Beach Club pool looks GREAT!! My DS8 and DS6 will love it. We think being so close to Epcot and DS will be good.

This might sound silly, but my biggest concern about staying there is the shortage of QS breakfast options. My sons both love getting Mickey waffles for breakfast (which isn't available at the Beach Club QS), and DS8 is a picky eater and has very little "breakfast" food he will eat. He will eat chicken nuggets for breakfast before school, which is fine with me because at least he ate before school. We have reservations for breakfast at the Captain's Grille for the days we are not going to a park (so they can get their beloved Mickey waffles), but don't want to spend that kind of time on a park day for breakfast.

What does everyone think about the breakfast options there? Does the QS have really good baked goods in the morning (the ones at the Poly were not very good)? Do they have lunch type foods in the pre-made selections available in the morning? I appreciate everyone's advice.:goodvibes

QS options at the BC Marketplace are very limited. We've never had a problem with it because we are not breakfast people, and we have no picky eaters with us.

On the bright side, because it serves DVC too, there are choices in the fridge case similar to (or actual) lunchables, and other premade items that might work. Cold cuts, cheese, etc.

Also bright side, the pastry choices have been excellent but I am unsure if the Boardwalk bakery being in refurb will affect that. I was under the impression the baked goods may have come from there.

You might already have considered: The Dolphin has a cafeteria style set-up (Picabu), where you can do a quicker breakfast than BC/YC restaurants (or get it to go) with tons of choices. We've popped in there on the way to Studios for quick breakfast options.

congrats on booking your stay at BC!!! You're gonna fall in love.

We used the QS breakfast most morning at BC and found there was plenty to choose from. I usually had a bagel, DD had some type of danish, DH had a breakfast sandwich (I think??)

You always have the option of purchasing cereal and milk right there in the gift shop/QS shop. Also, pop tarts (and they do have a toaster to use), muffins, prepackaged donuts.....heck there is even bread if he wants toast. While not breakfast food, I believe I saw lunchables in the cold section (check out some of the pics of what the store has to sell). We have even used Garden Grocer and had granola bars, muffins etc delivered to our room to used for breakfast on some mornings.

Depending on the day, we do sometimes head straight to the park and grab a baked good for breakfast when we arrive (never could pass up a cinnamon roll or cherry turnover on Main Street) and now with the Nutella and fruit waffles at Sleepy Hollow...........I'm in heaven!!!

I too don't like to spend much of my morning on a table service breakfast (way to excited to get to the parks.............ahem, I mean my kids are way to excited to get to the parks :rolleyes1), but the Captains Grill is a great alternative on a few of the mornings.

Have a fantastic time planning! And do remember to spend time enjoying the resort.
