Le Cellier Steakhouse goes to all day menu

Now, during "free dining " times- even though off season- it becomes impossible to get a PS, and also, to make "free" dining profitable the menus of the restaurants have been downgraded year round.
. . . not fully correct
. . . the restaurants do not pay for Free Dining
. . . in fact, they have nothing to do with it
. . . the RESORTS pay for free dining in the room rate
. . . the room rates were raised all year to pay for FD periods

I'd rather save money on the room and pay for meals[/QUOTE]
. . . as listed above, you are subsidizing Free Dining

IMO the menu is again designed to appeal to those wanting the best value for dining credits rather than what people touring a theme park will want to order for lunch in 100 degree heat.

Sorry but signature to me does not have to equal such large portions and meals. All of the lunch options are simply too rich with sauces and heavy on red meat. We enjoyed the salmon and several of the app's that are no longer on the menu. This already happened at HS and we did not care for it at all. At least at Brown Derby there are still 2 decent salads, the new salad with egg does not appeal to me.

Oh well, another reservation for someone else. I have a feeling getting a reservation will no longer be quite so difficult.

I just cancelled our lunch reservation. Oh, well. I guess we will nibble around the World instead. Actually, I'm looking forward to that.

That stinks that the lunch Mushroom steak went from $25.99 to $46. As much as I love it, I can get better at home, so it looks like no more LeCellier. We haven't been in a couple trips. Plus the kids liked the Chocolate "Moose" and that looks to be gone too....

With this and Ohana also changing menus, the list of must do's is shrinking.

Any other major changes at any restaurants?

the chocolate moose is not gone. It is listed with the kids' meals.

If I can get in (might not be a problem) I think I'll try it. No salads with egg for me though.

I don't think you will have a problem getting in, I just checked for Epcot lunches on 3 days during our stay next week and had my choices of times at all restaurants including Le Cellier.

No salads with eggs for me either. Seems to be all "the rage" though.

The restaurants do not pay for Free Dining, I understand, but they are compensated a certain amount of money per credit, correct? So the menus have been degraded not to make "free" dining profitable, but to make the DDP profitable.

I think I'll go for lunch on my birthday, that's not till August but I don't get up to book restaurants at 6 AM right at 180 days anyway. Didn't see a drink menu but I assume they still have Unibroue...it'd all be good then.

I came looking for a thread on this subject after reading about the change in All Ears. Count me in as another who books lunch for the menu and price. We don't do DDP, so that was never an issue. I'm thinking of canceling our May ADP in protest. Believe it or not, the thing I'll miss the most is the pretzel bread, but I'll have to make do. I just can't justify paying dinner prices for lunch and our ADP is the day of our flight home, so dinner is not an option.

There's no indication that they won't have pretzel bread, as you don't order that from the menu and I wouldn't expect it to be on the menu. We'll have to wait for someone who has actually eaten there to learn that.

If that's in response to my post, I just meant ill miss it if we skip Le Cellier. I know it's not a menu item.

The pretzel bread is also my favorite along with the cheddar cheese soup and and maple crème brûlée. I think on my next trip, I'll just order the soup and dessert and ditch the entree.

Another restaraunt ruined by the dining plan. :furious:

It started the downhill slide several years ago. I don't think the DDP is ENTIRELY to blame. LeCellier became "overhyped" on boards like this and everyone "HAD" to eat there. They just started resting on thier success and doing NOTHING to deserve it. And those of us who were brave enough to say "didn't like it" got TRASHED>... Literally I got PMs calling me names LOL! (Is your personal worth that tied up in your view of a Disney resturant???LOL!)

Going to Signature was the final blow. Gee, all we have to do is raise prices LOL! Service was bad, food was so so.. pricing was :rotfl2: Gave it one try and was shocked that Disney felt that was "signature" WHY???? High prices?? GEE!!!!

Never again~!

I really dissapointed that some of our loved appetizers, mashed potatoes, and that fantastic cheesecake is gone. That is making us look elsewhere for dining options. The steak I was not able to finish also went up $12.

Add me to the list of people cancelling lunch for our trip in 10 days. I was willing to try it, but the menu looks too expensive/too much food for a mid-day meal.

I cancelled on the new website, but have no confirmation of the cancellation. This concerns me b/c it was held w/ a credit card. Anyone have experience cancelling a cc ressie? Shouldn't I have gotten a cancellation confirmation #?

I have always received an email for all of my cancellations. I cancelled Le Cellier today and immediately received the email.

Same. I used the app to cancel and had an email immediately.

I am not liking these lunch prices at all! I think I may just order appetizer and dessert as I am craving that maple creme brûlée.

Help please! We are going in 10 days & I have been waiting for the new menu to see what the changes would be. #1 they no longer have cream cheese mashed potatoes on the menu. I'm guessing that means I wouldn't be able to sub the mashed potatoes for my risotto. I really wasn't happy about the $$ increase & if I can't sub those, it ruins the whole meal for me. Also, #2 my son always orders the baked mac & cheese from the lunch menu. It is no longer on the menu. He just turned 4 yesterday & he is a very picky eater. He won't eat lobster mac & cheese or anything on the kids menu. At this point I really think I should cancel but we want a really good steak. Is there anywhere that has steaks as good as Le Cellier that we have a chance of getting an ADR this close to our trip? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is an ADP the same thing as an ADR?
