Food And Wine 2013 Thread

We are taking our first family trip nov.6-11. My parents said that they will babysit our kids one night- we were thinking about going to the F&W that night

I'm wondering what the official start date is. We will be there, staying at POP
9/26 to 10/2. This will be our 2nd F&W. The first time was Nov 2011. Loved the sausage on the pretzel roll from the Germany booth. My DS,then 6, devoured the apple strudel before I got any. I'm getting my own this time around!

There is usually a "preview" on the Thursday before opening (this year it would be September 26) where most if not all of the World Showcase kiosks are open for business. It is billed as a cast preview, but you do not have to be cast to purchase items from the kiosks.

We are going 11/3-11/8 staying at BCV. We are going for my sons 13th birthday and find it so funny decided he wanted his trip at this time for the food and wine festival. We try to go every November alternating family trip and adult only trip and this year was due to be an adult trip but you only turn 13 once. Maybe that will be an excuse for my husband and I to head down for a day or two earlier in the dates!!!

We will be there Oct 1-6. I can't wait. This will be our 3rd year in a row going for Food and Wine.

I noticed a few of you will be there at the same time as we will be. We are booked at Beach Club from Oct. 4th-11th. This will be our 3rd stay at the beautiful BC & our second trip for Food & Wine. LOVE IT!! Cannot wait!!

Great advice on this thread about weekends. I'm going to have to make some changes to my timetable. I come off a Fantasy cruise on Sat 28th Sept and had planned on hanging out in Epcot until check-in at BWV. May need to re-think this. Do people know if Future World also gets crazy crowded on Saturdays and Sundays?

I'm staying at the BWV - BoardWalk view from 28th Sep - 3rd Oct, then moving to AKV for the next 6 nights. Have rented points. Can't wait. Have been dreaming about this holiday for years.

My DS (6) and I will be there Oct 14-20th staying at the BC. We will probably take advantage of a weekday visit since he is with me.:thumbsup2

I can't wait my first visit in the fall, first stay at BC and first F&W.:woohoo:

We will be there in Oct during this. Can someone explain how it works? I know it is foods from different parts of the world but do you just walk around from booth to booth to see what is offered? Are all of the food booths in the same area or are they mixed within each area of Epcot? I am not very adventurous when it comes to eating but my husband would love to try lots of different things. We will have our two boys with us so I assume that wont be an issue. Do you pay to get in this section of the festival or is it part of your normal admission? Also, is there a menu printed in advance so you know who has what or do you just have to walk around and check out each vendor?

We do F&W Festival every year . . .last year we did it twice! I'm waiting to see who the performers will be before I commit to a certain date. We usually go around our Anniversary (10/10)

Last year we were there for Starship and Dennis DeYoung. I'm hoping to see Dennis on the lineup for this year, if not, I am thinking 10/16 - 10/19.

It's a wait and see game . . .:scratchin

We just wander from booth to booth looking for something new, the Fisherman's Pie in Ireland was particularly good, a lobster dish big enough to be a meal, we'd get two of those with a Guiness each and have them in the Rose&Crown garden patio. There's no charge to peruse the booths, there are presentations that have a fee. I recommend getting a small plastic card on a wristband. You give them $$ or swipe a credit card and the money goes on the plastic. When you buy something at a booth, a quick swipe and it's done, no carrying around a pocketfull of loose change. You can keep the card and re-load it next year.

My favorite time of year! I currently have ressies to stay at BWV from Nov 4-8 and the move to AKL on Nov 8. I'll visit Epcot every weekday during the trip.

We will be at BCV Oct 8-12. This will be my 4th time at F&W, DH's first time. I think he will love it.

Hi all,

Been so busy. When I get a chance to set down I will get everyones dates added to my first post.
Hope everyone is having fun planning. Please ask any questions and im sure that the Food and Wine experts would be more than happy to answer all of your questions.:cool1:

:jumping1:OOH! OOH! We'll be there!!!:wave2:::yes:::jumping1:

Going for the W&D Half which I'm thinking will be the 9th, but waiting for sure before making ressies. Always get a great deal at the Royal Plaza (thanks to connections), but think I'm going with one of the race host hotels for transpo convenience.:thumbsup2

Also, as soon as we see if Sister Hazel is playing, we'll buzz up for that weekend as well :drive:. Love those guys! :rockband:

We will be there from September 30th to October 8th staying at the BCV. This will be our 5th food and wine festival. Don't miss the Germany booth and my favorite booth is Greece. Have fun and go on an empty stomach.
