Please clarify onboard booking

I know the rules changed last year for onboard bookings, but I'm still having trouble with some of the details.

I understand you can only book one date and get the 10% discount with the reduced deposit and OBC.

So if I want to book two different sailings, I will not get the discount or reduced deposit, but I will get the OBC?

Is there a difference in OBC based upon your Castaway Club level, or has that changed?

OBC is same for all CC levels now.

I guess a mod should edit that. It's a fairly recent change. Probably in the last 6 mos. Very disappointing too since we finally got to Platinum.

I think the FAQ thread is where I read that you still get the OBC for a second date, but I wasn't sure if that was accurate.

This is not supposed to happen with the new rules unless the you and your wife live in two different households.

The new rule is that one sailing (date) can be booked onboard (with full onboard booking benefits) per household. In this one sailing, up to 2 rooms may be booked. There is no limitation as to who you put in these two rooms (other than of course, the person booking onboard must be in it).

We booked onboard with the new rules in our last sailing. I was a bit concerned with the new rules because it was me and my mom traveling together on our last cruise, and even though we live in two different places (in fact, two different countries!), I feared that DCL may not let us each book a new sailing. Anyway, here's what we've happened:

1. We approached the onboard booking desk and explained what we would like to do:
* Mom (household 1) to book sailing A with two rooms. The people in the room 1 would be mom+brother & room 2 for me+my OH
* I (household 2) to book sailing B with two rooms. The people in the room 1 would be Me + my OH, and room 2 for mom+brother

2. At first, the agent said that this is not allowed. She acknowledged that my mom and I are being treated as two different households, so we can each book a sailing in the future of up to two rooms. However, she said that we cannot have each other in the booking. I pointed out to her that there is no limitation as to who you can put in the rooms as per DCL's new rules. She still didn't allow us to do this. We said that we'll come back the next day once she's got the cruises priced.

3. Went back the next day and the lady told us that what we wanted to do is actually fine - she has checked with someone. Got our trip booked

It will be interesting to see what happen in our upcoming trip. My other half will actually be living in a different country than me due to a new job! So, technically, we have 3 households sailing Mom+brother in household 1 (address 1), I'm in household 2 (address 2), My OH in household 3 (address 3). All 3 addresses are in different countries, too! Will be interesting to see if Disney allows us to book 3 future sailing dates! They should as per their own rules

Technically I might be able to work out the two households. What I want to know is if I can book a b2b dummy date, and switch that to another b2b, all the while having a second booking for the second household.

Does this make sense, and if so, does anyone know if it is possible?

Officially, I believe this is what you're allowed to book:
Household 1 to book sailing 1 of the b2b for up to 2 staterooms.
Household 2 to book sailing 2 of the b2b for up to 2 staterooms.

However, from what people have posted, DCL seems to make an exception (or least has done so in the past - though not sure if it has always done so or whether it depends on the particular agent) to B2B cruises and allow for:
Household 1 to book 2 sailings b2b for up to 2 staterooms with full benefits.

If you get them to let you book 2 sailings b2b as one household, then technically, you should be able to go back and booking another sailing using household 2.

The correct wording directly from the OBB book that was changed almost a year ago:

"Offer valid for Categories 4-11 only. Offer not valid for concierge level categories, 2-night cruises, IGT, OGT and VGT Categories with Restrictions, or Disney Fantasy maiden voyage. All staterooms must be booked and deposit paid while onboard. Special cruises have seperate cancellation and deposit policies. Other discounts do not apply. This offer is limited to two staterooms on one future cruise date [per household sailing]. Any additional staterooms on the date booked onboard will only recieve the onboard credit portion of the offer. Additional sail dates can be booked onboard at the current prevailing rates. See disneycruise.com for applicable terms and conditions."

As noted, you are able to book B2B cruises with those two rooms as an exception. If you move the second date, that reservation will lose all OBB benefits.

That wording is a bit confusing. I took it to mean a booking for a second date, but you may be right. Maybe it's referring to any cabin booked for the same date after the first two cabins.
