Casey's Chicago dog?

I know my Chicago dogs, so I've always been scared to try this. How does it compare to the real deal? Also, if you use the DDP there do you still get a dessert since they only have "snacks" listed on the menu?

I kind of expected that answer. There is no other food on earth that I crave so often as a chicago style hot dog, but it is impossible to get them anywhere else. Is anything good here if I don't go in with such high expectations on that one?

There was a thread awhile back when the menu changed that had a description and some pictures of the Chicago dog. Maybe try a search to see if it comes up. As far as I remember there isn't any weck on the bun. And the relish isn't neon.

3) About the same as the Chicago Dog at Casey's.

NOTE: All kidding aside, if you expect a Chicago Dog, try to buy
it outside of Disney. Once might say that their attempt at the
Chicago Dog is Mickey Mouse.

Casey's not even CLOSE to a Chicago dog.

For reasons that seem as mysterious as the weather, it just doesn't seem to be possible to get the real deal outside of Chicago -- no matter what the sign says in places all over, it's never the real deal....

Can't comment on the authenticity, but to answer your question about desserts... Last time we were there we had a choice of Cracker Jack or cotton candy. Casey's is fun & I love getting to have the classic ballpark dessert!

Disney's hot dogs are a chicken/beef blend, not all-beef, and buns are pretty sub-par and generally not soft. With that being said and you see a hot dog is a hot dog is a hot dog, it becomes a matter of the ingredients. Try Casey's(chicago-style, and mmmm cheese), Beaches and cream, the 1/2 pounder at ESPN, tomorrowland's launching pad(Philly and NY style), or a corn dog in frontier land.

I meant that banana peppers aren't a substitute that is even close. They're missing a serious heat factor, and the taste is just not the same. Peppers on a chicago dog are at the heat level that makes them even hotter coming out than going in. Gross yes, but anyone that braves the peppers knows it's true.

My experience from living in Chicago all of my life, is that regardless of the toppings they are replicating to make the "Chicago dog", if its not an all beef dog I'm not going anywhere near it!

For a chicago dog:
The dog shoud be a pure beef Vienna hot dog, the bun should have poppy seeds and open from the side - not the top. And the relish - it needs to be bright green. Tomatos should be slices or wedges, there should be chopped onions, as previously stated they should use sport peppers, it should be sprinkled with celery salt, and there should be a dill pickle spear on top. All this is on top of the dog not around and under it.
The closest to a Chicago dog that I have had outside of Chicago area is Sonic's Chicago dog and that still needs improvement.
No way is Casey's even close to a Chicago dog.

You get the feeling that they could do all 3 if they REALLY wanted to--but obviously for some reason they don't.
