I'm so glad that you got the YC CL after all. :cool1: It does sound better than BC CL. The one CL resort that I would be tempted to get would be CL at WL. That looks amazing. :wizard:

I ran the Disney 1/2 marathon and there was a race walker who kept up with me almost all the way. My husband and I did the 5K and it was full of walkers. You could also try a 10K, which is about six miles, if you ever felt like running. :)

To be honest, I always thought that the second floor was club level since it looks so awesome. I had been tempted to walk up the stairs many times, but was afraid of encountering some stern faced CM telling me I didn't belong up there. :scared:

Thanks!!! I highly recommend WL CL!!! It is FANTASTIC!!! :goodvibes

2 weeks from today I will be in my happy place instead of in my office doing work.... hurry up 2 weeks!!!
HURRY HURRY I CANT WAIT!!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know that doesn't look like the "best view ever" and it's really more about the location and the atmosphere - just so lively right there in the center of the resort. Makes it feel cozy.

Great people watching!!!

I FOUND ONE OF THESE ROOMS!!!

[When TigrLvsPooh was at the BC CL in August, there was a problem with her bathroom and she had to shower in a different room while it was being repaired.

If you look at the pictures she posted, there is a photo like the one on the YC website.

I still don't know which room or rooms at the YC are like that, but I suspect that they are rooms that have just one queen or one king. There may be a couple of rooms with that configuration.

*******************************************************

And this, my friends, is why I have 13,674 emails in my inbox and I have maxed out two DIS PM inboxes.

I don't like to delete anything because I never know when I might want it.

.

Thanks so much for finding it! That is great! Now I just have to see how to request it!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this thread because I just booked my 50th birthday celebration and it is the first time I will be staying at the beach club, so any tips will be appreciated.
It's me and 23 year daughter and we reserved a garden view, is there any suggestions as to room requests.
We are so looking forward to staying in one of the Epcot resorts, can't wait.:cool1:

My first trip to Disney was on my honeymoon, where we stayed at CBR. Since then, 12 years ago, we have been back 9 times with our boy staying at CBR, AK and BC. I hear other people returning from vacations say,"It was fun, but its soooo good to be home!". In all 12 years that we have been visiting Disney World,(and DL once!) I have never, ever said that I'm happy to be home. I usually try to get an extra day if we can squeeze it in. Am I the only one? We love our WDW and DL trips!!! I very often try to recreate Disney magic at home with Mickey pancakes, using Disney dishes, recipes, etc. I love and live Disney magic! To me, I truly "get" all the little nuances and touches that create the magic, and I love it! I csn close my eyes and remember the BC lobby scent, and its wonderful! I know I'm not the only one, but I do occasionally wonder why I enjoy this more than others might. BRING ON THE DISNEY MAGIC!

Experiences Disney Racers who stayed at BC--How are the buses to the start? I have been reading a lot of reports from this last weekend that the bus lines were worse than normal at some resorts. I plan to be on the bus as close to 3am as possible for Princess last month but any advice would be awesome. Also, we plan to walk back through Epcot after the race, if that a quicker choice over taking the bus?

I secretly would like to try the 13.1 marathon since I walk 5 k, five times a week in preparation for my Disney trips. But... I am not ready to do any running as per Dr's orders so I will have to stick to the walking, which I love. I might go for one of those 5 k's they have floating around with some of the races.

~NM

You could totally do it! There are so many walkers at races and Jeff Galloway does training plans for Disney using the run/walk method that makes it so easy!!

I can't wait to be back at BC next month.

We are booked August 25-Sept 1 at the Beach Club! This is our first stay here and we are so excited. Thank you to everyone for the great information here.

:welcome:

So glad to hear you are checking out the Beach Club for this trip! I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

When is your trip? Would you like me to add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1?

:banana::banana::banana:

Speaking of Page 1, if you haven't had a chance to check it out, that is a great place to start to find the info you need and lots of pictures of the resort.

As far as requests, if you want a full balcony as opposed to a smaller one that just fits just a single person, then you want to add "Full balcony, please" to your reservation. Requests are not guaranteed, but the room assigners will do their best.

If it is just two of you, there is a possibility (slight) that you may be assigned to one of the very few rooms that has a single queen or king bed. If you prefer two separate bed, you may want to add "Mom and daughter traveling together- 2 queen beds, please"

BC cl lagoon is also now showing only 4 plus an infant. I have two infants a 6 yr old and an 11 yr old. I want a better view and don't need the daybed as the two infants are in playpens

:welcome:

I'm not sure how to get around the room occupancy limits. I can't remember if BC CL LV is always at 4 plus. Anyone know if that just changed?

Wow Mom,
That is great.
I hope you have a great time!

:welcome: to the thread!

Just wanted to say that I called today and was able to upgrade from our GV room at YC to SV CL!!!!!! :yay:

So excited!

:woohoo:

I'll update your listing.

I think that was a smart change! I definitely prefer the CL convenience to a better view.

Thanks so much for finding it! That is great! Now I just have to see how to request it!

IF you don't have any other requests, I suppose you could try "Daybed AND sofa bed with dividing curtain" to see what you get, but it could be risky. There are probably very very few rooms with this configuration, so the likelihood that one of them will be available on the day you check in and for your length of stay is probably pretty slim. Again, I'm guessing these rooms only have one queen or king bed.

Great people watching view!!!

I'm glad you posted the pictures again.

We had a very similar view during our 2009 trip, from a little higher up (Room 5631). Mark LOVED the people watching from the balcony. One night, during a lightning storm, he called me over and said "Watch this". Families would come to the door, look out at the weather, take a few steps out, then return back to the lobby. Like, 10 different groups of people did this!

Hi Everyone! Been awhile since I posted here. Our last stay at the YC was in August 2011. It was our first stay at the YC. I didn't have the greatest time, for many reasons. I'm thinking of trying BC for our trip this April. (4/15-4/22).

Is the pool as crowded in April as August?

Also, to get s full balcony, is that what we request? Or are there specific rooms I should request. Going with a garden view room.

Thanks!!

Just bumping this question..

Anyone been in both April and August? We stayed at the YC in 8/11 and I did not enjoy the pool very much (rained every afternoon, 7 months pregnant, water was HOT, not refreshing). Is it better in April? I'm thinking of giving it another try!

Thanks!!

Those pictures of the courtyard views are actually also great pictures for the Deluxe CL room thread. I'm 99% sure that rooms 3691 and 4691 are straight across the courtyard on the corner. (Though room 3691 looks like it's on the second floor, I believe there is no second floor because it's part of the lobby.) So room 3691 has the full balcony and 4691 has the standing. I wonder if 3691 would have any issues because it's above Cape May Cafe? I thought I saw someone somewhere say it smelled a bit like seafood.

I'm planning a Deluxe room stay and since there are only six rooms I'm kind of making a list of the ones I'd prefer. I doubt I'll really have an option at check in, but just in case I do I want to be ready. I thought I'd like something by the quiet pool, but the location of those rooms looks like more fun!

:banana::banana: Just booked our trip officially!! After 5 stays in BC we will be trying out YC for the first time. With the discount we are using, it was either waterview for either YC or BC (an extra $250) or standard YC, so we chose standard at YC May 20th week!

We usually try for GV, but didn't work out for us, any chance we will still get a decent view? Guess we will ask for a nice view at check in, cuz we have been lucky with our garden views at BC. We also got great ressie times for Cape May and another first, Ohanas. :wizard:

Another quick inquiry, We usually go to BC Marketplace to buy the refillable mugs for coffee and sodas, we can get the same at Ale and Compass yes? Thanks :yay:

I think I had replied before that my only two stays at the Beach Club have been in July. I did want to comment that the first year we went, 2009, I also found the pool to be on the warm side. The following year, same week in 2010, we found the pool to be much more refreshing than it had been on our first trip. So it can definitely vary.

I would certainly think the pool temps would be very comfortable in April!

What was the view like? ... Thanx :)

The view was towards Epcot. We could see a few high fireworks. The exact view is on page 1 post #8, scroll down- I took the picture of the different types of balconies from our balcony. When looking down, the view was of the volleyball court. Looking to the right you could see a little water.

Hi all, we are headed back to BC after several years away. I used to have a map that showed a floor by floor map of the BC with room numbers and categories for each room. The website that it was on does not show it anymore. Does anyone know where I might find that again? I am trying to remember what to request for our standard view room. Thanks so much.

Honestly, I don't find the standard view to be horrible. You may be looking at rooftops or maybe at other resort rooms or the front parking lot.

You should be able to purchase the refill mugs at Ale & Compass, and get refills there, but I think only until noon based on others' reports.

Hurricane Hanna's and the Beaches & Cream refill window are another couple of places you can get refills, but not sure if you can purchase the mugs there.

:welcome: back

When is your trip?

I have the Disney Zone map link on Page 1, in the Beach Club Room Post (may be Post 8 or 9). Along with the disclaimer that the map was prepared before there was a garden view category, so some of the rooms listed as standard view may now have a different designation.

Our trip is June 8-15. We are so excited to go back to our beloved BC. No other Disney resort even comes close for us. Thank you for the link. That was exactly what I was looking for. Not very observant of me to miss it on the first page, so sorry. Also, thanks for pointing out that things have changed with the garden view now. I think I will call and have us changed from SV to GV. We have always been very lucky and gotten really lovely views with SV, but I don't think I will chance it since the change. Thanks for all the help:).

I've looked at the BC CL food pics on various threads, but I'm still wondering if CL would be a wise option for our family of 5. Some of us are vegetarian, some vegan and one dairy allergy. I've seen pics of oatmeal with numerous toppings (not sure if it's cooked in milk), hummus, fresh fruits and veggies, pretzels, and breads and crackers (although the latter may or may not be okay for a couple of us).

I can see substantial savings for our family if we stay CL. We would all eat oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. And we would even make a light lunch out of the bread and crackers (if we can all eat them) with hummus and fresh fruits & veggies. And of course the bottled water is a plus.

I'm wondering if they make any amendments for guests with dietary differences (or at least my DD's dairy allergy). Does anyone know how likely it would be that they'd prepare oatmeal with water instead of milk, or offer allergy-friendly cookies, for instance?

Thank you! :)

My husband and my friend's son are both lactose intolerant. We let them know ahead of time and they had plenty of lactaid milk every morning and evening and whenever you needed. If they made the oatmeal with water, it would probably be the instant variety, but I think there is a good chance they would provide it. There's also bagels, toasts, hard boiled eggs, etc. It would be very well worth it for a family of 5. Just send them your restrictions and requests ahead of time.

We arrive Friday and my 13 year old is so so so excited for the house made potato chips in the lounge!
