Disney Honeymoon Cruise

mrkyyyle - was that part of the romance package? For our HM 3 years ago we would have had to pay extra for the champagne, rose petals, bathrobes, etc.

Yeah, that looks and sounds like the Romance at Sea package, which I tried to book for our honeymoon in 2011 and they said they don't do it anymore.

We didn't book anything extra, granted we were in concierge so I don't know if they have extra leeway in doing stuff for guests etc.

Ah, concierge - that explains it! For a moment I felt like I was getting cheated - twice ;)

Love,

Your lowly fellow cruiser who won't even splurge on a verandah room... :worship::worship:

haha nothing lowly about it! a cruise is a cruise in my book :)

I blame my mom for spoiling me with cruising in concierge one time a few years back and now I am hooked!

LOL yeah, they have a bit of extra leeway for doing things for guests. So you did pay for it, but with your base fare as opposed to adding it on as an extra thing. I'd love to sail concierge one day but it would have to be on a classic ship for me to even think about the price, and I doubt DCL will keep those prices once both classics go through the extended updates in the long dry dock. :(

ok here ya go :)

They also put rose petals all over the rest of the room, in the jacuzzi tub, sinks etc haha

They asked us which night on the cruise we wanted to celebrate it officially on during the first day on the ship, and that evening at dinner we got a chocolate cake :)

That's Saaaaaweeet!! Thanks so much for sharing! Seeing those pictures makes me super stoked to go now! :) do they do the towels like that every night? What's the difference between a Concierge package and a regular package? (I'm new to cruising and want this to be special and unforgettable) :)

Can you get the bridal party to help you spread the word without the bride knowing?

I'm not quite sure how I could handle that one. No matter what I think I'd be too excited and slip the word, haha. I need a good trick to play on her...

Do they do a Romance at Sea package anymore?

Thank you for the clarification! Any suggestions of resorts to stay around or in the WDW area?

We honeymooned at WDW and stayed at what is now Port Orleans Riverside in a mansion room. Very romantic setting without the deluxe expense. I'm sure you'll enjoy wherever you are...just note on your reservations (DCL, resort, ADRs, etc.) that you are celebrating your honeymoon. Pixie dust can't be guaranteed but is likely

Its not a concierge package per se, we were in a 1bedroom suite which is on the concierge level. The concierge staff was aware we were on our honeymoon since it was noted on our reservation so they were the ones that arranged the stuff in the pictures (and as Meghatron noted, we didn't "pay" for the stuff directly, but we paid indirectly in the higher cost for the concierge room if that makes sense :) )

We got the swans / rose petals on the night we "officially" celebrated our honeymoon in the MDR and the cuttlefish/champagne/ rose petals a few nights later. We got the normal towel animals the other nights of the cruise.

I don't know if they have that romance at sea package anymore to be honest :(

My husband and I cruised with DCL for our honeymoon and it was great. We did a 3 day cruise on the Dream and then 7 days in the parks. If you were looking for a 7 night cruise to the Bahamas, you could do a back to back cruise on the Dream (4 nights and then a 3 nights). They are both the same itinerary except the 3 day doesn’t have the day at sea. There is also the 7 day Eastern/Western Caribbean option out of PC. Either cruise you choose, you’re guaranteed to have a great time! Make sure you tell DCL you’re on your honeymoon. I’m sure you’ll get a few “surprises” along the way- we did!

Also, like the PP’s said, if you could pair your DCL with time in the parks I definitely would! You can rent DVC points from an owner which will save you a lot of money, too.

Have a great trip!

Great info! But what would the Cost be of a back to back cruise like that? Probably I little bit more pricy? Great idea tho! I just feel like if I'm going on a cruise, I want to be on the ship longer than a couple days. Have time to relax for a full week. I'm way excited to see what DCL will do!

Also, this goes to all PP's as well, how do you rent points from DVC members? How much cheaper is that? Thanks!!

Ahhh ok! That makes sense! Sounds like it was a blast then! Not sure I could afford a concierge suite, but that would be awesome. Any suggestions of what staterooms would be best? I've heard decks 5, 6, & 7 are the best decks to stay. Is a window in the stateroom necessary with the new magic portholes? Any thoughts?

Here are all the current add-ons offered - there is a "romance" package, but it doesn't look like exactly the same one they used to offer with the bathrobes and the rose petal turndown service. Call DCL directly to see what they can do, though.

Thanks for the info! I searched through them and can easily think of at least two packages we could use.

They used to have robes?! That would be sooo cool! I'll have to call DCL for sure to see if they can still offer that. That's somethin we could use not only on the cruise, but for years to come, and other future cruises!
