Any one experience a cruise like this.
What do they do w/ all the sea days.
Are activities, performers, shows done on all these days at sea.
There are 7 sea days.

From my previous short cruises, 7 days, 4 days.... I've always enjoyed the sea days for the shows, relaxation, pool, sunning days.

But wondering if 7 sea days would be a lot.

Let me know your experience.

Thanks

Chris

We did the WBPC in 2008. There were activities every day. A different menu/show each night. It takes a whole day to go through the Panama Canal, and there was a speaker who gave talk about it (one on the history of the PC, and another about how the crossing is done).

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

:cutie:

We did it in 2005. There were special entertainers brought on board including Susan Egan (Belle on Broadway), a woman who directed the PC Visitor's Center, a DULL narrator for the canal crossing itself, etc. Special menus, each night a different theme.

WE LOVE the PC and trans-Atlantic cruises. The bummer is that this year it is impossible to do both as they overlap by a few days. Poor scheduling IMHO.

No such thing as too many sea days. DCL will keep you as busy as you wish to be or you can hang out at the pools and chill.

My DH is still saying it was his best cruise ever from Jan. 2011. We loved it and never seemed to run out of things to do.

We weren't ever bored on the PC cruise two years ago. As we went through the canal the Wonder had a great buffet up on deck.

In 2008 they had a great BBQ set up on deck 9 with several big grills going. It was a wonderful day with lots of things going on. Very well thought out.

We just off the Panama Canal cruise 3 weeks ago.

It was pretty funny. There is so much to do, don't give it a second thought. We had a great time. Excellent Cruise. I have all of the navigators from each day. So if you need to know something else, just let me know.

I think Susan Egan was on Saturday night, as the theater was mostly empty - we were 3rd row center, and showed up 5 minutes before curtain. I suspect everyone was packing trying to get their suitcases out by 10pm. She was awesome, and Defying Gravity was a highlight (and the backstory, too)!

Chris there are 8 sea days, 9 if you count the canal day. I have been on all three of DCL's westbound canal cruises and I can tell you that on the sea days you can do as much or as little as you want. Just like the Hawaii cruse this past May. We had 9 days at sea and I enjoyed every minute of those 9 days

DH and I were on this cruise is was great. If you are someone who likes to read you have some great time to read. I was actually readding a book on the building of the PC. Had several folks come by and aske me questions. Also as other have said DCL has lots plan. We are taking our 1st 3 day in December with a large group of family. We are really going to miss at sea days this this one has none!:( We are making our own by not getting off in Nassa.

My family did the 2011 Transatlantic with ten sea days. It was so awesome that we are doing it again this May! For us, the more sea days the better. The ship is your destination and there is plenty to do. I don't know if I would ever be happy on a cruise with limited sea days.

was it really mexican food

Yes, it was, but nothing as good as you'd find at your local dive Mexican restaurant. There is also a Mexican buffet at Pirate night too. If it's not your cup 'o tea at dinner time, there's always the chicken, steak and fish that appear on the menu each night, under 'lighter fare'. We have a DD that would order the chicken breast with a side of steamed broccoli almost every night (including that one), and it was delicious.
